About Me

  1. Is this possible? Preliminary searches on google show me a few things but I can't be sure so rather than searching high and low I though i'd ask you lot This is something I found btw, i've not even downloaded it yet so don't know if it contains a virus ( link to site, Sites clean ) https://www.h4ck.se/how-to-overclock-your-original-xbox-in-2019/
  2. Selling these 128mb ram upgraded boards, 90 shipped in the us message me for pics and more info
  3. Performed ram upgrade with 1 chip in area 4 near CPU using soldering iron using Ali express bought chips. X blast on spiderchip loaded first time but Ram test failed. Attempted reflow of chip using SMD hot air station. Modchip won't boot blue light on modchip illuminated. Xbox either goes on off 2 times and then flashes red and green or else when I disconnect modchip the Xbox logo displays with error 07 then flashes red green. Not sure if modchip isnt working now. Wondering is this normal behavior as I'm getting a normal Xbox boot up without modchip?
  4. I wonder if it's a RAM compatibility issue or indicating definitely damaged RAM IC? Does anyone know the max temp the RAM ICs are rated for? I am working with a 1.4 revision board and an OpenXenium which should be booting straight to XBlast. I haven't seen much info anywhere about a solid green LED in the process of a RAM upgrade. However when I've got a chip installed it power cycles twice then goes to solid green LED but no video and the OpenXenium LED is yellow whereas if XBlast were to have booted the OpenXenium LED would be green. The board has default K4D263238D-QC50 and I have tested adding K4D263238M-QC50 (salvaged from a 1.0 revision board) and K4D263238F-QC50 (bought new on eBay but I used them). No additional RAM boots and works fine. Does the yellow LED on the OpenXenium indicate anything useful? What about the solid green LED on the console? Thanks
  5. Hi Im in the process of upgrading my ram. The mod chip im using is an x2.6 with ind-bios. I have the xblastos xbe installed on my HDD. My thinking was that I could boot to my dashboard then launch the xblastos xbe to check each ram chip. However, upon powering on the xbox, it boots three times and the led's flash red and orange. My question is do I need the xblast bios flashed to my modchip for the xbox to boot during the upgrade or have I made a mistake during the installation? Im quite confident about my soldering. Checking under x60 magnification and lots of light tia
  6. Hi All, This is my first foray into modding my original Xbox. I've identified the board as a 1.4 or a 1.5 (can't find out exactly which, but it has the Focus video chip). I can't find any information to help split between the two but it also looks like it's not that important either... Looks like I caught the clock capacitor just in time with some very minor markings on the top of it so that will be removed - it looks like it doesn't need fitting with a TSOP mod as this fixes the date? (RIP some of the best clock based cheats). I've got some K40263238D-QC50 RAM chips already in my system and looking to use it to run games off the HDD and emulators etc... From what I can find it looks like it's worthwhile upgrading this... other than this and the clock capacitor, are there any other recommended actions or mods whilst the mainboard is out? Do I need to do the TSOP mod first before the RAM upgrade? Cheers
  7. Still interested in doing the 128mb RAM mod, however what specific ram is used/suggested?
  8. I'm looking to get a modded XBOX but wonder if paying extra for a system with a 128mb ram upgrade is worth it. I don't have much interest in emulators. I want one to play XBOX titles. I'm intrigued by being able to use more 720p patches with the 128mb, but do patched games run well enough?
  9. Hello everyone! I want to perform RAM upgrade on my Xbox but I don't know which RAM I should buy. Here is the picture of the RAM from my Xbox: SAMSUNG K4D263238F-QC50 So my question is which RAM should I buy? I found a couple of RAM chips on ebay and AliExpress but I don't know are they going to work on my Xbox. Here is the list: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32890729020.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.7efb2e0eCU8Qyr https://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-Samsung-K4D263238M-QC50-128M-DDR-SDRAM-1PCS-NEW/123866715285 And, thanks in advance!
  10. Just want to share my first 128MB upgrade of a green limited XBox. Next one is the crystal XBox and after that the green Halo edition which I bought for 10,-€ because of a missing top cover. YT Link (Not realy mutch to see except for the XBlast lite test) : https://youtu.be/XxzrjwTTwGs
  11. Hello. I wanted to upgrade RAM on my Xbox. First I TSOPed Cromwell inside and it booted. Then I soldered 4 RAM chips from China and Xbox started reboots and showed errors: Green, Green, Green50%-Red50%. After which I desoldered new RAM, but FRAG was still there. I guessed something was wrong with TSOP chip. When I got this Xbox it had some noname modchip from 2003 which I can't even guess clone what of. Anyway, error code switched to: Green, Green, Orange50%-Red50%. Which is RAM error, I guess. Now I think I should have tested it with each new RAM chip soldered. I only left original 4 RAM chips inside right now, but it still FRAGs. What can I do to repair it?
  12. Hi, I am listing for sale a xbox kasumi blue, asking price $300 + shipping at cost from Singapore. The original mobo 1.0 has been removed overtime and replaced with a rev 1.4 and matching PSU rated for 220v The xbox includes a 500GB HDD type IDE, an Open Xenium modchip loaded with both X2-5035 and Ind-bios, 128mb of ram No other mod on the external case aside from 3D printed feets I have owned the set for about 12 years then acquired a regular xbox about a year ago which I modded to my liking and therefore made the xbox kasumi blue redundant. Link to actual pictures of the set https://imgur.com/a/yrCkuyV You'll note that the pillow case is missing and was missing from day 1 when I bought it from Japan. Any other items meant to complete the set are available. I do not have feedback on the ogxbox forum but I have received good feedback on the neo geo forum for selling most of my arcade hardware http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/itrader.php?u=62671 Thanks, Jerome
  13. Hello everyone, I have a hard mod og box 1.6 with a X3 build 3294 and kernel ver 1.0.5034.1 I did this mod about 10 years ago and I have been out of it for a long while. now that I have a child and she likes to play games I am getting back into it. I have read that some people are upgrading the ram on the board from 64mb to 128mb. So my question is why? I do want to run some emulators on my box now. In the past I put the mod chip so I could put a bigger drive in to copy my games on the hard drive and play them from the hard drive. so my question is now that I want to put some emulators on their do I need to update my RAM to 128mb? and do i need to update my x3 build or kernel version? Thank you in advance.
  14. Hi, Does anyone have a link to the xbox 128 ram chihiro package? I formatted the disk ...
  15. I have 8 sets of pulled ram 70 USD for all 8 Sets US only unless you pay the extra shipping cost if its in the US its free shipping
  16. So i tried to upgrade my 1.1 xbox to 128mb. I installed the first chip successfully and xblastOS flashed to TSOP said "Success". Then i attempted to install second chip on bottom side, but xbox started fragging. I fixed up some shorts i found, but it still fragged. Then i measured according to datasheet, that power to RAM is shorted to ground. The shorted pins most likely were: 66 and 65. However it's possible, that i used the chip pinout wrongly and i measured short between VDD and VDDQ, which should be fine. Even after fixing the shorts, it still fragged. After (destructively, but fortunately without ripping any trace) removing the both installed chips, it still does very weird frag. Basically the LED lights up only for short while and then turns off. Xbox's fan runs for a while and then it reboots. This gets repeated indefinitely, but rarely you get normal FRAG and xbox stays on. I measured 2.65V going to the VDDQ pin and the RAM power rail or any of the main power rails are NOT shorted now. ANyone knows if i can fix it? All my other xboxes are either fragging (i have 1.0 i got fragging, but it might be TSOP issue as there are no signs of tracerot, no leaking caps and apparently TSOP might naturally degrade now, so i ordered modchip and will try to install it) or they are 1.6, which suck IMAGES: https://imgur.com/a/z74Mzxe Here is reference image how i installed one of the chips, that worked well (the first one). I guess it was pretty good: https://imgur.com/a/6DlSKuY. The residue is either flux or denaturated ethanol i used to clean it up. VIDEO:
  17. Does anybody know if there's an easy way of testing if RAM chips are not fake (before installing/soldering)? Perhaps a resistance between certain PINs..? Any ideas?
  18. I tried to upgrade my V1.0 Xbox with 4 Samsung version F RAM chips but it won’t boot. I’ve got an OpenXenium mod chip installed but I’ve tried booting both with and without yet it still flashes. Anyone know what this means/ anyway to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated.

  21. I've done tons of these, and I have some boards left over. If anyone wants it would be 90 shipped each board anywhere in the us. I don't have any rep in this forum but I have an ebay account with a bunch of reviews and I've done a few trades over at r/hardwareswap.
  22. Hey all! I recently completed and posted on a few Facebook groups a little project which I recently finished and one of your members recommend me come here and share it with you all, so here goes! The whole thing started when I decided I wanted to build a PC into an Xbox. I've done a little bit of modding here and there in the past, but nothing to this extent. Sadly I didn't make a build log as I went along, but here is the finished product for you to enjoy! The spec: Intel i5-7400 Processor running at 3.0 GHz Zotac 4GB 1050 Ti Graphics Card 16GB DDR4 Crucial Memory running at 2400 MHz MSi H110i PRO LGA1151 Mini-ITX Motherboard 250GB Samsung NVMe SSD 2TB Seagate Barracude Storage HDD 300w Game Max Power Supply It's got a custom water cooled loop in there too, and boots to Windows desktop in 13 seconds! Enjoy! shoe.
