  1. I have a few of these LED pcbs for the OG Xbox controller ports. I am trying to locate a tutorial on how to install these, but I cant find one. Can anyone please point me in the right direction.
  2. X-cutter shoutout to jacob from swaggerMFmods for sourcing this one to copy and archive enjoy https://mega.nz/#!7gczzAgD!RjpA9lWfboxF1N953eF87Yy2Qy-ZesqpCF1B34UiKoc x-cuter-bluemeanie23.rar
  3. Hey all, as the title implies I'm wondering if anyone has any extra PCBs for an ATX to Xbox 1.0 adapter, as posted by N64 Freak and available here: http://dirtypcbs.com/store/designer/details/7953/6277/xboxatx-zip The price for a batch of ~10 is a bit more than what I'm hoping to spend so curious if anyone's already purchased a batch inside the continental US and would be willing to ship one for a bit of a discount compared to buying from DirtyPCBs? Thanks for any info!
  4. Hello everyone. It is recognized that the Chinese version of the AlladinXT has problems with the flash of the 49lf020A because this one is actually a 49lf002. Do you know if the problem comes only from this chip or if the design of the pcb is also in question or even a blockage at the code level in the cpld? I wonder if putting a real 49lf020 in the chinese pcb would solve the flash problem.
  5. I'm looking for the vanity PCB/sticker piece for this X3 switch. It's mighty ugly without it.
  6. hi guys been a while heres the latest modchip copy done its at v1.0 and untested waiting for pcbs to arrive for testing thing is im running out of modchips to copy i only have the duox2 smartxx v3 and xecuter3 and x-bit left in my possession cant wait to depopulate them and see a bare board. i was going to leave the x3 till last i think its appropriate considering its pinnacle status as apparently being the best chip ever for ogxbox thoughts?
  7. I recently acquired a Development Kit (DVT4) and decided to take some high-quality photos of the daughter boards from this console. They're pretty rare and obscure and I wanted to take some good photos for preservation's sake. I'm going to get a Raptor PCI card soon, so I'll add photos of that too later. More info- These boards were in development kits and consisted of two parts: DVD emulation board. When paired with a Raptor XDK PCI card installed into a computer, it allows a developer to master a game disc before sending a final copy to Microsoft for review, and later into production. This allowed them to test loading scenarios and figure out where certain files for the game should be physically located on a disc in order to reduce load times. When loading a level for a game, for example, all the files needed for that level could be grouped together on the disc to reduce the amount of skipping around the laser needed to do, which decreases load times. There is also a USB port on this card. While it uses a USB connector, it's actually a JVS port. This was used for hooking up arcade sticks and special components built for Sega Chihiro arcade cabinets, which is based on the Xbox's motherboard. Serial debugging port This allows a developer to get debugging information from the Xbox to see how their code is behaving on real hardware. When writing software, it's useful to see technical info about when and how a bug happens in order to fix it. This board connects to a PC's serial port to read diagnostic info from the console in real time. 10. Hi, I am in the UK and want to get a small batch of pcbs made up, I have been in touch with a couple of UK companies and they are out of my price range. Anybody have any recommendations? Thanks
  11. Would like some advice. US people here and on other Xbox forums seem to recommend isopropyl alcohol for all sorts of purposes particularly cleaning the MB and other related purposes. What I would like to know is what is best as there are usually two grades available:- Rubbing Alcohol typically 70% isopropyl alcohol. This is what people on the Xbox forums usually mention. Lab grade isoproyl Alcohol typically 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. Thing is rubbing alcohol is said in some sources not always to contain isopropyl alcohol but even when it does also contains water and other substances to discourage consumption. That's very much like methylated spirits, more commonly used in the UK for the same sorts of purposes. However my research indicates that only lab grade ie. pure isopropyl alcohol is recommended for cleaning PCBs mainly because it doesn't contain water and those denaturing agents. Because it is purer it evaporates faster and is actually less good as an antiseptic because of that. Knowledgeable opinions/recommendation?
  12. Hi, I have put this on the Facebook group also. I have an X2.6 chip in an old v1.0 Xbox and I was going to pull it out and put it in a different one however the PCB with the bank switches has gone missing. No idea where it is. What are my options? Ideally would like to have the full functionality and flash it again. Anyone have the switch PCB and want to part with it has anyone done their own switches for it? The ribbon cable to the non existent switch PCB is intact.
  13. When your tring to solder to a circuit board and you damage it don't despair most stuff up's can be fixed If you have ripped the trace off the Xbox circuit board you need to STOP and try to relax, Walk away from the job for a minute or ten or more if neaded This is the trace that is damaged and need's to be repaired. This is a pic of a undamaged PCB same location. The red wire is what was suposed to happen 1st step Clean off the paint. I cheated and used a Glass fiber pen to do that but gentley scraping the track is ok you only nead to remove the paint. 2nd Step Add flux to the board 3rd Tin the trace 4th Prep the wire you are going to use. I use wirewrap wire for a repair like this one as it's a single strand. 5th Tin and trim the wire. I should have trimed it a bit shorter 6th Lay the wire on the tinned trace and apply heat. 7th Clean up the PCB Now rince and repeat for the other end. Once you have tested it and your happy a small dob of hot melt glue or even a dob(pin head sise) of super glue to stop the wire moving. Not on the solder joint say 5 to 10mm(1/4 inch) from the solder joint.
  14. Hi guys hope it helps those who have a broken/missing usb ports on the x3cp v1.0 needed a few minor dimensional changes to fit snugly in the stock x3cp usb board slide slots i had to shave off 1-2mm from the sides of the pcb for it to seat properly and not damage the housing. these files are v1.1 and the required changes have been made i recommend 1.00mm-1.6mm board thickness any questions feel free to ask https://mega.nz/#!LkNAFYSJ!SDPPguhC64fcmEvT2RkIuT_xdSYkedqKGIfJJlUAJQA
