As title, fully finished and working R3DUX Xecuter 3 cloned chip, complete, immaculate and fully functionally tested. This is my first finished R3dux. I may have a few others in due course. Please note; Only the chip and the two bare accessory boards are included currently at this price. I have simply not had time to do, nor inclination, any of the connector wires etc. That stuff drives me barmy. The two bare boards are included for you to complete. Nothing difficult by any means. The wire schematics for the cables etc are on the R3DUX github. Or you can simply use X3 cables if you have some, or message Steve, he loves making 'em (sorry Steve) You'll need the red pcb finishing first. Again Steve has them and he has the Pro Switches and LCD cables and also the large front panels too. So this sale includes only; 1) The R3DUX chip itself + Pinheader (I have some). 2) The 2 extra PCB boards as pictured. What you see is what you will get. The chip is flashed with V3294 X3. Backup has r3dux 3.1 flashbios and takes a few tries of power+eject together to catch it. I usually get in two or three tries, but will always work. This has also been fully tested and flashes the main rom no problem. Xblast also recognises the chip as X3 and also flashes it. Paypal F&F (leave note blank) or Paypal G&S (fees to you) at this price. This includes tracked UK postage. £47 inclusive. GBP This is an 'old-skool' chip. You should make yourself aware of usage and read up, it can be complicated for beginners, as the Xecuter 3 always was. Config Live is genius as we know, but it is overall not some user-friendly operating system style chip.

Thought I'd have a crack at the old legend yet again with a completely different build. This is the work of Khoa Hoang, so major props to him. @maximus64 OpenX3. This uses the original CPLD of the Xecuter 3, the Lattice LC4128V, along with the usual same Xecuter flash chips and passives etc. Currently, I've hacked this onto a redux pcb purely because its what I had on hand and didn't want to hack up the other second duff X3 purple I have after fixing the first one shown in the tutorial I made for that, as I didn't know if this would work. This actually may be an even easier fix for broken Xecuter 3 chips in due course, but I'll get to to that some time in the future, as that just complicates things here. So it's on this PCB due to a couple of trace mods only, so ignore the redux pcb, I'll get around to doing a new PCB in due course. I'm still finessing it but it's running sweet as of now, bit of meddling to do regarding that backup chip as usual. It does boot whatever is flashed on it, but being a pain over ID. Still can't get the ID of that Xecuter 'Backup' chip. If anyone can help with that it would be appreciated. It's not AM29F002BB (redux) nor AM29F002NB (n/c pin 9) either. It will read and program, but it's not the correct ID. It responds 0x 7F 7F, which means it's several steps in according to jtag standards as far as I can tell. May need Spi. Anyway, not much else to say, but it's another working Xecuter 3 chip and on the original CPLD. Config live and all that jazz all there and bank switching etc. Mentions... Maximus64 - Openx3 Psycho_Chewbacca (aka Benny T) - legend in his own right. Ryzee119 (code) Ernegien (Xbox7887) - did the x3 IO registers. Team Donkey - OpenX3 Schematic/pcb etc. ^Props to them lot and anyone else involved. Will have a look at doing the skins thing at some point if I sort the backup chip. https://github.com/Ernegien/x3cl-skins I could have done this a while ago I guess before redux, but getting more used to the Lattice software.

Hi I’m starting my second fix and this is something I’ve never encountered before. The Xbox is a 1.6 and does boot normal without the mod chip. I have tried several mod chips from working consoles. When I connect the modxo it wil start then shutdown and start again to successfully load prometheos 1.4. What could cause this?

Hello. I'm from Germany, soon in my mid 30s, electrician and love electronics, programming, tinkering and everything that has to do with automation. After several years, i wanted to play on my old xbox again. Since I also wanted to have fun tinkering with it too, I got myself two xboxes, as my old one fell victim to the clock capacitor and took some components with it. The time and effort of ordering the missing parts, repairing the circuit tracks and testing everything wasn't worth it for me, so i bought two new xboxes. Now i have two 1.6b boards, a black one and a crystal in good condition. Also a lot of spare parts like 4 dvd drives, shells and other components. I pick out the best parts from everything and then build a decent Xbox. The black one serves as a test subject and if everything works as I imagine, the mods will be built into the Crystal. Currently i'm using my SmartXX LT OPX and the Cerbios 2.4.1. It's a good modchip that has never caused any problems back in the day. Multiple banks, easy to install and has its own menu with settings. Done: -Soldered the SmartXX LT OPX directly to the board on the bottom side -Replaced new thermal paste (Arctic MX4) for CPU and GPU -> Reduced temps. ~2-3°C -Removed 2 0-ohm resistors from the cpu -> Reduced temps ~7-8°C (Now 56°C with load -> before ~66-67°C) Thanks to @eeksdee -Replaced 40-Wire to 80-Wire IDE cable -Added IDE to SATA adapter (green one) (I have 3 working adapter, you don't need an overpriced startech adapter but you need at least the 80-wire ide cable.) -Replaced the hdd with a 2,5" 1tb ssd -Bought an ElectronXout hdmi adapter (Tested several adapters, the black levels were bad in all cases except ElectronXout) Planned: -Fan Upgrade ( I'm currently building a frame for a 70mm fan in Tinkercad without having to mill anything away. -Ram Upgrade Waiting for delivery -Find a solution for the high power draw in standby (5-6W!) Maybe the 3V3 to the SmartXX causes the high power draw, i need to test. If so, I will install a 3V3 voltage regulator and take the voltage from the 5V of the psu, which is only switched on when the Xbox is turned on. -Replace the two front led's with adressable led's and build in a microcontroller Arduino or rp2040 or something similar. I want to equip the LEDs with a smoother effect when they are on/off/color changing. The program (currently for my rp2040) is almost ready and also working 90%. -Find a psu replacement (Maybe) Maybe build my own solution. The plan is to make everything look as original as possible, just with some mods and optimizations. So far so good, that’s all from me for now.

Hello all you smart people. I am a idiot who recently purchased a pre-modded Xbox without knowing anything of this community. The 1.4 Xbox has a Aladdin chip, Cerbios, XBMC4Gamers and a 3tb HDD. Unfortunately, Fedex rough housed the thing on it's way and it showed up with the back corner of the case cracked. I plugged it into my modern TV using a funky HDMI adapter, flipped the video from 720p to 4:3 NTSC, turned the box off and plugged it into my CRT using a 3rd party cable. Setup insignia, updated Halo 2, played 2 rounds, temps were reported as less than 65c, 40c at idle. I then backed out, created a new profile in XBMC and it needed to scan the HDD for content. It hit 40% and froze, then started artifacting some white static over the image. I shut it off, gave it a min, turned it on and it froze on the Cerbios screen with the same artifact pattern. Shut her off, opened her up, all new caps, pretty clean board and new thermal paste under the heatsinks but I still replaced it anyway. The chip seems to be installed as needed, with no visible issue. Put it all back together and it showed the artifacted bios again and froze. I shut it off, pulled the power cord, held the power button for 10 sec and plugged her back in. Now all she wants to do is FRAG. 3 boot loops followed by a red/green flashing ring. Picked up a set of OEM Composite cables today and it came with a free 1.6 Xbox that is stock. Super clean and works flawlessly. Unfortunately, the stock composite cables didn't fix the FRAGing. I'm not in the mood to add to the graveyard of dead systems and would greatly appreciate some advice here. I'm average at a soldering iron on a good day, and I've torn apart many various electronics without zapping myself. What would be my best approach at making these two boxes into one, without loosing the data on the 3tb HDD? What troubleshooting steps should I start with? What's the big DON'Ts that I probably committed by opening the box already?

Hi. I've tried 3 different TV's for the XboxHD+, a LG TV, a CURTIS TV and a Vizio TV. All no signal/output. However, It does however work on a 22" SCEPTRE monitor at 720p. Could it be that the other TV's are older? Also, I've never tried the XboxHD+ app, could that fix the problem?

Hello Xbox friends, I'm about to buy a used Xbox controller but are these original Xbox Series Controllers to use on a PC Or buying just a Xbox 360 wireless controller (I believe it's uses Bluetooth like the Series and One controllers?) will suffice, so I can save money? \ Thank you in advance. God bless, Revelation 21:4

Hello and greetings all. I know this is a OG XBox forum but I trust this website and the people on it. I've been given an XBox One free. It has a small power issue with the heat-sink and not turning on. (FIXED) I want to push this device as far as I can go. Hard mod the device, soft mod the OS. I have no concern if I brick the console, I want to strip it down and max-out anything I can on it. Any reliable trusted information will be much appreciated Thank you.

This Xbox had one issue of being placed in a different case and shorting. I replaced the faulty 2T transistor and all was working. Voltages were normal on all rails. I then was getting glitchy video on composite cable so I changed the large caps on the board and the video issue went away. It powered on and work fine all day. Even would power cycle multiple times without issue and run stable with any game I threw at it or just stay running for hours. The next day it would not power on at all. I changed the two large output caps on the PSU and reseated the modchip and it booted and ran perfectly so I played Doom3 for a few hours without issue. Shutdown normally. Next day it would not power on again.

Can anyone else confirm this?? I have repaired several 1.4 consoles, but this one is not a 1.4. This console was modded previously according to the v1.5 aladdin mod. It has bios 5713. Yet it comes up as a 1.4. Only Xblast OS shows it as 1.4/1.5.

Hello, I am newcomer for OG XBOX field. I got a OG XBOX console last 2 weeks, actually, that's new experience for me, because I had never play XBOX games in my childhood.

I've been trying to find any artwork pack with covers and fanart for Xbox emulators themselves (not for games) and haven't had any luck. Everytime I find something that looks promising, the link is dead, Google drive access is restricted, etc. Does anyone have a collection like this or a link to one they'd be willing to share?

Hi, i've read over at reddit that there is some new Beta of UIX Lite which has an integrated FTP Server. Anyone know where to get this version? Eventually someone can enlighten me what those "usual places" are Thanks, Egon

I have an OG Xbox that no longer works, I've tried a different power supply and replaced some capacitors that were bad no luck, my friend gave me a working Xbox same model. Is it possible to swap the drive from my dead one to the "new" one and retain all the data? Also if I can't do that would it be possible to transfer the save data and games to the new system?

i bought some broken xbox's. one of them says it freezes after playing for a while. i booted it up and the date was 04/13/44. i changed the date and unplugged it for a while. i then plugged it back in and it had the 04/13/44 again. i have never heard of that being the xbox's default date and i'm guessing it has something to do with the problems that it is having. what the heck would cause one to act like that? it's a version 1.6.

Greetings! DNA64 (aka viral_dna) and also known as `DNA` on the old #xbox and #xbmc IRC channels where I was an OP and Dev. I joined the scene before the release of the system which I picked up on launch day and immediately began disassembling and dissecting the console. Some of you may remember me, or know me from other scenes, I've been in a great many of them over the last 20+ years. I'm currently involved in the Classics systems that have been recently coming out. But the OG XBOX holds a special place in my heart, in fact, it's the only XBOX that does so. Sadly a great deal of my postings and guides have been lost after some of the best forums out there went under. I look forward to sharing some of my work with you here and possibly creating new guides for those looking for help.
