About Me

  1. I just picked up a 1.6 Xbox and it does not turn on. Whenever I hit the power button there is 3.3V, 5V and 12V all present for about 1 second then nothing. All standby voltages are good too. Idk whats wrong.
  2. I have the ROM, installed to the HDD, but it's not appearing in my game list, every other game I installed is there and playable, but not this one. I tried multiple versions from the internet, same results. What do I missing? Or its a game that is only playable from the DVD like that couple other?
  3. Hello, I am new here so apologies if I'm posting this on the wrong forum. I am currently running a v1.6 Xbox with Rocky5's Softmod (v1.1.7) and XBMC4Gamers and am met with a black screen when booting the game 007: Everything or Nothing from my HDD while using component cables. My legitimate NTSC copy of the game was ripped to my HDD via dvd2xbox (with ACL processing enabled) and I have enabled Force Progressive video mode via the NKPatcher settings (followed by a reboot). I have attempted to boot the game while the following resolutions have been enabled on my console: 480p (y) 720 (y) 1080i (n) 480p (y) 720 (y) 1080i (y) However, neither of these configurations seems to result in the game displaying properly. If anyone has any troubleshooting ideas, I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you.
  4. Hello from the Yorkshire Dales. As many others have discovered, James Bond: Everything or Nothing won't run when ripped from disc to HDD without some sort of patch. I've found tantalising mention of this patch in a few different places, but all the links are years old and dead. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? And if you could tell me exactly how to install it when I've got it, as if I'm a complete idiot and don't know anything, that would be super helpful too. Many thanks!
  5. Hello, first time Xbox repair-er here. So I took an old Xbox out of storage (10-ish years). Turned it on and it powered up fine, clock set screen came up which was expected since I assumed I was going to be ripping the clock cap out anyway. Also the disk tray wouldn't open, again an easy fix, no big deal. I open it up, clean the DVD drive and reset the belt (boiling water, etc.) and put it all back together. Only this time it doesn't turn on. I can hear a faint noise coming from the hard drive but nothing else, no indicator lights, no disk tray activity, nothing. My guess is more than one of the caps was going bad and that final power on I did was just the nail in the coffin. I plan to open it up and do a full cleaning to see if there's anything obvious, but the fact that the HDD seems to still be getting power makes me think that I possibly broke something. Is it possible that bad caps could cause power to stop going to certain components but not others?
  6. So I was trying to inject the .cfg into a 5003.67 box. (Duh) This seemed to work but I noticed the .cfg loading delay was still in place. I figured this was because I had left a .cfg sitting on C:\ But I deleted the .cfg file, and afterward the default IND intro played and the system sat on the IND-BIOS X Screen indefinitely. What gives? There were no errors when injecting in Windows. It just doesn't seem to have done anything except prevent an error screen from presenting.
