Hello! To start, I have successfully completed a stellar HD+ install on my 1.0 Xbox. I was using it all fine with no issues and a stock HDD for a few weeks now. I finally decided to upgrade my HDD to a 4TB for game storage and run a custom dashboard. Went though the process via the Project Stellar tool and the drive reads correctly and is formatted the right way. I successfully installed the dashboard through FTP and downloaded the stock one through the downloader (the main reason I went with this dash was for the downloader) and now my disc drive won't read any games that I know work. I have tested multiple IDE Cables (both 40 and 80 wire) and 3 dvd drives that I know work for sure and none are able to read discs anymore in this console. I'm still fairly new to this scene so I do not know what to troubleshoot. I've tried google and found nothing so I figure I'll try the site where all the Pro's are at who may have experienced this issue before. Let me know if I can provide any more info to help figure this out. Thanks

Ok so a few years back I attempted to flash this and killed it somehow, that's all I can remember, I do recall trying a few things at the time to revive it but no luck, luckily the consoles HD was stock so I removed the chip and TSOP'd, the switchbank is still stuck to a faceplate and it even has the x3 holographic sticker Also the D0/LAN/HDD wire is present but not pictured (I found it after I took the pics) NOTE: THIS IS NOT WORKING - IT MAY / MAY NOT BE FIXABLE!

That is the question. I've heard different things about grounding D0 to a pad without cutting Lframe. I've heard that It will eventually cause fryage, and I've heard that it's an old wive's tale. What is your opinion? I HATE cutting traces...

Hi everybody, I was trying the new cerbios 2.3.0 UDMA4 but when I launch it from xeniumos my screen turns black for a second and then it reboots into xeniumos (imgur video of the issue). What I have done for now was fomatting my 1TB hdd with the new version of FATXplorer and installing the bios with a pendrive (I previusly cleaned the chip by resetting it to default settings) Thanks to everybody that will help! Hi guys, i have an openxenium with latest OS and cerbios 2.3.0 mounted on a 1.6 xbox and it works fine. When i place the modchip into my 1.4 xbox it won't boot (it frags). D0 is connected to the correct point on the motherboard. I believe cerbios 2.3.0 is an all xbox version ?. Should i flash a 1.4 bios into it with the launch menu ?. I also have a duo x modchip and That one boots fine.(on the 1.4 board) I am puzzled ,can it be a poor connection on one off the lpc header pins ? Somebody can give me advice ? Thanks.

Hello guys, I finished OG XBOX softmod few days ago, thanks for some buddy in forum. Currently, I had another one question, in unleashedX GUI can not change resolution. I tried to search the solution, that should be go back MS dashboard to change, but my question is my unleashedX menu had no MS dashboard this item. I also check C drive, but no MS dashboard files can execute.So, I copy my C drive backup files (before softmod) and execute MS dashboard in unleashedX file explorer, result is show errorcode12, can not enter MS dashboard. Could you help me to how to change high resolution? thank you.

It was hard to get a good image, I think I damaged the board pretty bad. I figured my years of recaping crt's and some smd soldering here and there would make me qualified. I think I might have seriously damaged it beyond my repair abilities, I had such a hard time trying to make that joint (I made the mistake of using flux), any advice on what to do now? worried I might be S.O.L

I just had tsop'ed my xbox and Clean the C from Softmod after Tsop, so i want to install Unleashx, when i installed and open it the screen goes black, but others dash evox, avadash etc works fine?? My xbox is tsop'ed but i still have softmod savegames and unleashx savegame is they who broken unleashx?

Hello guys, I tried to change large hard drive by use Chimp application, but show this error message. Could you help me? I am not sure what step is wrong. My process step as below: 1. Console turn-off, plug new hard drive power. (no connect IDE bus) 2.Console turn-on, my console already softmod by hotswapping 3.Run Chimp application 4.Take out DVD IDE bus and plug to new hard drive 5.I saw console show some message, should be OK 6.Go to dialog box, but show this message, "slave device can not be locked" And I check program function, slave device function is disable. By the way, before plug new hard drive, I format by FATXplorer. Any mistake of the procedure? Need you help! thanks so much!

This is my second mod and I cannot for the life of me understand why the mod isn't working. Perhaps another modder would be able to help me out? The Xbox already had a softmod and boots up in UnleashX After the mod, the boot animation is showing the EvoX logo. Updating the bios is no problem, installed updated EvoX M8 plus bios Trying to boot from a Hexen, OG xbox install disc or Slayer's disc is not working. OG xbox installer DOES work in the softmod Trying another hdd gives an error 13 (160gb and 250gb ide, and sata 500gb drive with green adapter) I tought the problem could be a problem with a solder joint or a short as a result of my soldering error. Went over them with multimeter, does not seem to be the case. I'm at a loss right now trying to figure out what the problem is..

Hi everyone! After much hesitation I decided to replace the capacitors in my Xbox 1.6 ... well it didn't go as expected. The 3300uf caps were a pain to desolder for an unknown reason and I lifted 4 pads in total (the positive of C1F2, both pads of C1G10 and the positive of C6G3). So, initially I didn't know that I made such a disaster and the console FRAGged with alterating green/red light after attempting to booth two times with green light and also no video. Troubleshooting I noticed that the dvd drive didn't want to open unless I unplugged it from the IDE cable and that no error was showing even with only the motherboard and psu connected. As adviced by some kind guy on Reddit I checked the joints of the 3300uf caps and I discovered what I did with the pads. The same guy said that in order to repair the traces I had to connect the positives of C1F2 and C1G10 toghether an then to one of the legs of the coil above (L2F1); the negative of C1G10 to ground an finally the positive of C6G3 to the positive of the cap next to it (C6G2). Done all that the Xbox doesn't boot anymore. When pushing the power button there is a soft buzzing noise. So I decided to check the voltage of the 220-240V Delta PSU. I found that the voltage doubled: orange is 10.3V, red 10.3V and yellow 0.5 in stand by and 24.8V when pressing the on button. I also tested the transistor next the clock cap and it says 6.3 V. What can I do? Please help me, I don't want to lose my cherished xbox. Thank you in advance!

Opened up the Xbox to fix some trace corrosion. When I put everything back in and booted up, none of my controllers were working. Iv double checked the daughter board several times. Everything is plugged in correctly. On boot up it launches the clock and none of my controllers work in any of the slots. I found out I was atleast getting power through the controller port because when I plugged in my Wingman XB2 it lights up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ran the halo 2 game disc once made a profile, installed the dlc from a hdd ready download. Original hdd had the dlc already. The installed files match on the 1 TB drive so the install is good. 3 out of ten times when a dlc game is picked in the pregame lobby I get a "Failed to load map" error. Also when I try to join a game that is dlc it occurs as well. When I host a dlc game it works but not every time for the other person I get 1 or more players failed to load map. This occurs with xlink kai as a direct system link connection works every time. Not sure if it is xlink kai computer settings or what?

So I just finished another successful TSOP flash on a v1.1 and wishing I had spent more time focusing on that vs. having to repair numerous LPC ports from teaching myself to solder. Oh well, I digress… Since I’m fairly new to flashing bios’s (Xbox) I’ve been reading up on which bios is best for my needs as well as the method of flashing. Since I’m pretty old school I was always taught the importance of having a good boot up disc (ie. Hexen) laying around. Kinda fancy since I grew up thinking we’d be booting everything off floppy disks forever! The more I’ve read I’m finding that maybe Hexen isn’t the most impervious or bulletproof solution out there. It would appear that the Hexen-based bios’s could be tainted in a sense (as well as limited in variety). Can someone verify if I’m understanding this correctly? I hear those particular bios files have been pre-configured and therefore not the best choice to flash and replace the old soft mod. I’m of the impression that the most bulletproof method would be hooking up the hard drive to my computer and/or FTP’ing the OGXbox Installer onto it. Anyone? Lastly, please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m thinking that it would be silly to use any of these older BIOS’s without any LBA support. I’d like to utilize one of the newer (but not entirely necessary) Titan or Cerbios revisions available. I’d love to hear what you guys have to say about this. Thanks in advance for your feedback ✌

i've seen some bad info out there for noobs trying to mod a xbox for the first time. the 2 main ones are to null or modify your hdd key(without disclosing any of the dangers) instead of just keeping the old hdd as a backup to create another drive if needed and the 2nd one is to pry the gpu heat sink off. please don't do this, especially on a xbox that has sentimental value to u. this is a good way to ruin it. we really need to start being more careful what we tell noobs to do. i know my original xbox has a lot of sentimental value to me because it still has the game saves from where i used to go to lan parties with it back in the mid 2000's. i'd be heart broken if one of these guides caused me to ruin it. many other would probably feel the same way about theirs.

I'm trying to replace the stock HDD for a 1TB HDD on my v1.6 xbox but get code 13 after BIOS boots. Configuration: OpenXenium modchip with XeniumOS231, Cerbios 2.1.0Beta Star adapter for IDE->Sata New sata 1TB HDD is on the compatibility list, reported to work/lockable: https://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=drive&did=5971 General Processs: I use the XeniumOS disk tools menu to clone the stock HDD to the new HDD following the guidance. Swaped the Star Adapter jumper to slave for the clone and back to master after stock HDD on HD end of IDE cable and new HDD at DVD end After clone I put the DVD Drive back on IDE cable, and new HDD at HD end. Check all the files on new HDD are duplicated correct (pulled the contents of new and stock HDDs to PC via FTP and filediff the lot) I put cerbios.ini on the new HDD C:\ (also tried without) I lock the new HDD via XeniumOS disk tools menu Tried boot standard cerbios and UDMA5 cerbios Retail bios also errors 13 (which worked fine with stock HD) Result: front LED 75% red, 25% green - HD error. Display shows error 13 (pictured) Observations: Confirmed Xenium works as expected with stock HDD, boots to stock xbox menu Confirmed the new HDD is locked (going into XeniumOS and see 'Unlock') I've also tried cloning using XboxHD and locked the HD using v1.6 eeprom - same error 13 result Looked at the new HDD in XFATExplorer and all looks correct unlocked. Also unlocked using the eeprom & relocked - so its definitely locking with correct key. stumped what to try next.

Hi everyone, i'm workin on my xbox to install MakeMhz Hdmi. I have 2 questions for you: 1st I've flashed my Bios with M8.CEC.FG.evoxdash.512 and M8.CEC.FG.UX.512 (the prepatched EvoX m8+ Bioses for makemhz) as You can see ,using evox dash they both giving me "Bios Unknow" , is that normal ? also when i load them in evtool they cannot be edited (unsupported kernel..) 2nd i have a 2tb disk with 2 900 gb partitions , if i will decide to edit m8 untouched bios , which is the right choice to choose for the LBA48 support and partition table ? thanks !!

I decided to remove Facebook and tiktok and all the other garbage from my phone... I purposely left the Xbox scene and sold my 3d printers and extra xbox parts.... However now when I get bored I have nothing to do but shovel snow, so I may pop in here out of boredom.... I will only try to be helpful, otherwise I'll get to keep my mouth shut. My last attempt at a prototype is nearly done and I plan to use it until I die. Lol Peace out.

I have a OpenXenium modchip with a EvoXm8+ bios. My default dash is UnleashX e:\Dash\UnleashX) but I have XMBC4Gamers and XBMC-Emustation also installed (e:\apps\respective folder.) I installed the dashloader customizer and setup the buttons I want to use. Though when I boot and hold or frantic push the buttons nothing changes and it always boots into unleashx. Tried searching around and seems like all the posts I found talked about running Dashloader customizer with ind bios not EvoX. Will it work with EvoX? Also where it says "Set Custom Dash" is that setting the default if no button is pressed? Because that is also set as XBMC4gamers yet it still loads Unleashx.

Usually they have a blank icon and the name looks like e.g. PGR2 [!] (i.e Project Gotham Racing 2) and when I go to the install folder and launch the .xbe manually it launches correctly, the issue also extends to identifying the artwork, as the games with this problem all have .xbns etc and seemingly the correct artwork. If I try to launch these 'blank' games from the Games menu the screen just goes blank for a minute and loads back into Xbmc. Any idea what's causing this? Thought I had a number of bad rips but turns out the shortcuts just aren't working for some reason

Managed to replace 2 leaky caps but now I've put my x3 Xbox back together it seems the eject button isn't responding. Should the second little port on the face plate have something plugged into it?

Ok, I'm going out of my mind here, and I hope I can get some help, and a direction. I will try to provide as much info as possible. Xbox Hardware: 1.6 Mod Chip: xecuter 3 ce Bios: (tried multiple with same outcome) Currently one made with EVTool HDD: Western Digital Blue 3TB SATA w/ Startech SATA converter & 80 wire 40 pin IDE cable So here is the problem. I have re-formatted the drive and partitioned it multiple times using different tools off of the "OGXBox Installer 2021 - v1.5.4" Disk. I have use multiple Bios and with success have see the F drive in OGXBox Installer, and XBMC4G as a 2TB usable space. After I transfer my games to the drive, I can only see 256 out of over 800 games. The other games come up as gibberish and can't access them (please see attached photos). Even when I look in the file explorer in XBMC4G I can only see 256 games. If I FTP to the drive, I see all the games. I'm completely out of ideas why I would get this problem multiple times. Please help Thanks in advance!

Any help with the title? I just want to dump my bios… not really soft mod. Is this possible? Just run it.. grab my bios… and undo everything it did?
