Fuck the wires and shrinkwrap. That's retarded. I wire up the negative so I can anchor the LED in place with the resistor. MUCH easier to anchor from one hard point instead of between two hard points. I make sure it all fits under and within the metal shielding.

I'm about to install some Internal mods and needed to know how to power them, do I just tap into the hdd's molex? I'm not using the DVD drive so I was thinking of using the 12pin header but I don't know what is a safe amp limit. The mods would draw around 2.5A, how do you guys safely power multiple Internal mods like leds, temp sensors+display, wireless controller & remote control, wifi, Extra fans?

Hi All, This is my first foray into modding my original Xbox. I've identified the board as a 1.4 or a 1.5 (can't find out exactly which, but it has the Focus video chip). I can't find any information to help split between the two but it also looks like it's not that important either... Looks like I caught the clock capacitor just in time with some very minor markings on the top of it so that will be removed - it looks like it doesn't need fitting with a TSOP mod as this fixes the date? (RIP some of the best clock based cheats). I've got some K40263238D-QC50 RAM chips already in my system and looking to use it to run games off the HDD and emulators etc... From what I can find it looks like it's worthwhile upgrading this... other than this and the clock capacitor, are there any other recommended actions or mods whilst the mainboard is out? Do I need to do the TSOP mod first before the RAM upgrade? Cheers

Has anyone done a franken mod? Basically putting the DVD on the top outside of case and jumper the fan full speed.

I've heard tale of there being some mods that can be added to some games that changes the resolution they are rendered in. Googling xbox hd mods yields very cluttered results of course so perhaps someone can steer me in the right direction? I'm using a softmodded xbox with unleash. it doesn't have any extra ram or cpu so I understand this will cost some performance to do.

so 2018 has been a real blow to rom sites, and im wondering what people think about emulation and modding in general for the future. Also are ALL rom sites in danger now? myself being a newbie to mod/emulation it has been a bit off a put off but i would love to hear any words of wisdom or tips for the future , thanks.
