About Me

  1. I have heard in order to upgrade your xbox original hard drive from the original to a 121gb or more you need a special bios. I am clueless on this topic any help would be appreciated. Also if you couldn't tell already my xbox is hardmodded. Any help would be appreciated!!
  2. Hello everybody, I have a problem with my old xbox with amd duox2 modchip.. i would be happy if anyone could help.. (sorry my english, i'm not a native speaker) I stopped using this xbox years ago because the DVD tray open and close casually, with no input from me (-> MAIN PROBLEM). Yesterday I decided to fix it: since every weld looked ok but the motherboard was very dusty, I tried to clean it up gently with compressed air and remove welding dirt from motherboard with the help of a cotton stick and alcohol. BEFORE the cleaning: - xbox powered up booting customer bios every time i plug it to the power, I could switch off by pushing the eject button; - xbox powered up with original bios if I switch off (pushing eject button) and then again switch on by pushing the eject button; - the power on/off button (smaller one) never worked as I can remember; - DVD tray open and close casually (and continuosly), with no input from me, with both bios. AFTER the cleaning: - xbox no more power up when I plug it to the power (no blinking led light on the modchip); - xbox powered up with original bios if I switch on by pushing the eject button; - xbox power on/off button (smaller one) still doesn't work; - DVD tray still open and close casually (and continuosly), with no input from me. Since I didn't mod the xbox by myself at the time, I looked some tutorial but I didn't find anyone using my setup. I don't know why I have BT point welded to the front panel.. When the xbox was modded everything worked fine for a while, then I remember I got some problems and a friend did something at the weld on the motherboard.. I can't remember exactly (>15 years ago). I'm not an expert but it seems to me that there is a bad connection somewhere.. Are there anything I can try to find the problem? Can I simply remove/unweld the modchip and get the xbox work like when it was original? THX
  3. Hello new to the Xbox modding scene I picked up a hard modded xbox and everything works great except for sound and I can’t figure out why... I have tried different cables and different tv’s still no luck Don’t know to much about chips and what it has to be honest I’m still learning lol
  4. Hi Found this site thank goodness .Just purchased a newly modded box am looking obviously for info regarding the loading of games onto drive via ftp
  5. My wife says I have an addiction. I have too many and I will only keep TWO. I have many working xboxes - all tsop flashed and most with upgraded IDE drives / cables. Not going to ask for a fortune. My hobby was mostly fixing and flashing all of these. I haven't touched many for a long time - but they work. I have extra cases, power supplies, controllers, games... LOTS. I'm in Canada and would like to sell to Canada but would sell to the US. I will only charge for the shipping and about $5 extra to cover the cost of boxing them up safely. Email me at [email protected] - I live in central Canada (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan) and yes... that is real. Just north of North Dakota. Send me an email and what you are looking for. It has been a hobby.... time to move on - but I am probably going to always fix these!!
  6. Hi guys, First off I want to thank everyone for their help along the way I've learned a lot from this forum sure I could have had other people do it for me But honestly I wouldn't have learned as much but I still have a few questions so I'm going to go ahead and post them here (1) I have a whole bunch of burn CDs for the Dreamcast could my Xbox read them? (2) with my 500gb IDE drives now installed 110 gig devoted new Xbox games another 80 for coin-ops and probably another hundred for SNES What would you add now if you were me (3) I'm thinking of skining my Xbox is there a site still that I can get skins I really don't want to paint the unit I could buy a bus in Xbox and paint it that case and then just transplant my own but I really don't want to go to the time and after that
  7. I'm debating selling this Xbox and I really don't want to be low-balled because I don't know the true value of it, so I was hoping you guys could help me. I know it's an Xecutor 3 Christmas Edition chip with a black pro switch, which I've heard is pretty rare; the 4th bank switch is missing the cover cap but I'm trying to find a replacement for it.
  8. Hi - I recently updated my hard drive using HDM v 1.9 and it is now ready to mod - I have two options 1. Since I have all the files from back in the day to use Splinter Cell the SID I could mod it easily then I can use put Rocky 5 over it using the Rocky 5 disk. OR 2. Go to the trouble of setting up Rocky 5 Memory card mod -using a flash drive and Splinter Cell - have all the leads from back in the day and recently downloaded all the files and software needed. My question is does it matter if I choose the lazy option (number 1 above) or since I'm starting afresh with a new drive should I take the Option 2 route? Thanks in advance

  10. Hello all, just got my xbox modded with a 2tb drive and Rocky5's Emustation, looking for some assistance. Most of my roms are running well so far with the exception of N64. Now I know that it is set up to run the N64 set from Earthworm James. Trouble is, I cant find that pack anywhere at all, been searching for days now. I was wondering if anyone here knows where it is or has a link available, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Hey all. i hope you can help. My 'Project Xbox' (V1.4) which i generally tinker with has an Aladdin X2 running IND bios. All my other Xbox's are either soft modded or have Xceuter 2 installed. I've never tsop'd a console and was thinking that i should give it a go and move the Aladdin X2 off too one of my 1.6's that has been soft modded. Can i boot to dash, pull the chip and then flash the tsop? Assume i have already bridged the 1.4 mobo ready for a tsop flash? ( This box, like all my others has a failed DVD that doesn't read discs. so need to do all this from the xbox itself) And... what software should i flash with? Thanks heaps
  12. Hey guys.... I just found my original Crystal modded xbox from years ago tucked away in a corner in the loft. Only thing is it has faulty Ethernet port. Is it easy to swap them out for a replacement? If so does anyone have a tut?? Otherwise i want to update the softmod that is in it..... I bought it already modded and it was supposed to be chipped but well i have opened it and there is deffo no modchip inside. Its also a 1.6 so no TSOP either so by process of elimination it has to be softmodded. My question is..... Am i safe to run Rocky5's softmod updater from the extras disc to update it? If so can i...(using a FATX formatted usb stick) copy the extracted extras disc to the E drive and run it from there as i cannot seem to get the DVD drive to read anything.... Oh yeah heres a quick vid of the old school XBMC dash it has on it
  13. Hey all, looking to sell my Halo 2 Special Edition unit modded with an Xecuter 3 chip, and fitted with an Xecuter 3 CP- a rather desirable setup for the enthusiast. It has not gotten the attention that I would have liked, so I'm looking to sell it, necessary cables, and a controller for $260. System is in great condition, and functions 100%. System also has a 250gb HDD.
  14. NooB

    'error 5'

So I tried to softmod my Xbox and accidentally Unlocked my HDD thinking that would make possible to install a bigger HDD, so now i keep on getting Error 5. Can anybody give this noob some advice???

  16. Okl I just finished my modded XBOX. I am Running XBMC4Gamers. Currently I have only 3 Apps in my Application folder. DVD2XBOX, UnleashX and XBMC. What are some other useful apps I should get. I am looking for a controller testing app, but I can't find one. Thanks
  17. Ok, I just got my hard modded 2TB xbox finished. I started to play 007 Nightfire. I beat the first level, I go to save to the xbox HDD, and the xbox takes me to this screen. I have saved in other games and never had this problem. It does save to my xbox memory unit fine. Any help?
  18. I have a sofftmodded ver. 1.6 that was modded with an old flash drive I have with s.i.d. 5 on it. It works great and I don't want to format and lose all the movies, music, games etc. however i would like to null the hard drive to future proof it in case this hard drive dies so I can move to a large 2tb drive at that time .Is that possible?
  19. I was bored this evening so I pulled out an Xbox and TSOP'd it with iND-BIOS and installed a new old-stock 500GB IDE Maxtor hard drive. The clock capacitor has been removed, the DVD drive (Samsung) has a new drive belt installed and the case has been cleaned and polished-up, looks great. Currently transferring over XBMC4Gamers as the primary dash and all emulators are outfitted with the ResurrectionXtras video and box art/screen shot packs-- speaking of emulators, this includes the latest build of EWJ's curated Surreal64 romset, and almost every game runs great. The controller is in great condition as well, disassembled and shell cleaned. Asking $90+shipping if anyone is interested. Thanks!
  20. Hello everyone! I was hoping to get some help with my old modded Xbox. I used to have a pretty good library of backed up games, and I cannot remember if a patcher as needed to get the games ready for playing. I've been using ImgBurn to get my ISO images burnt (the same program I've been using since i first did my mod) and for some reason the Xbox recognizes the disc as data and freezes instead of allowing me to play them..I'm trying to make my friend relive the same joy on Conker: Lie and Reloaded and my original copy is too scratched up! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your time
  21. Hey Gang, 14 year old hard modded XBox and 8 year old soft modded XBox finally died. Have not been in the scene for a long while. Couple of questions: - What would you suggest for the newest ultimate build? - Is there a company or someone that you would recommend to do custom mods, case, system, everything? Thanks for add!!
  22. Hi, I've managed to swap out the 200GB hard drive on an old Xecuter3 modded Xbox and I've got it to boot to UnleashX, but I'm not sure about the formatting of F: and G. I've tried both setting it to around 927GB for each partition and also tried F 120GB G 1734GB but I seem to remember there are some issues with hard drive sizes and partitions. How should I be setting it up to avoid any data loss as I load up games and apps? Thanks for any help.
  23. I wonder if anyone can help me with this. It seems the Xbox is crashing when accessing www.crusaders.no (which no longer exists). I've managed to turn off RSS feeds but it makes no difference. It's a real pain as I can't ftp into the xbox because it crashes before I can establish a connection. It works fine when ethernet is disconnected. Thanks for any help.
  24. Ok here is the story. My brother just gave me his old xbox. It has been hard modded a while ago. It is a version 1.4 with a windbond TSOP. It is currently running Evolution x 3921. I have installed bios checker 5.0 and it says the bios is unknown. Also the MS dashboard can not be loaded. I would love to update this. What would be the order to do this. I read somewhere to run the krayzie one click soft mod installation, which would update the soft mod. Do I then just re-flash the tsop with the 256 EvoX M8+. I do have hexen 2017 disc. Thanks
