About Me

  1. Hi all, Over the past few months I have painstakely reverse engineered the Team Xodus Xenium modchip's CPLD and written a complete open source replacement. I call it OpenXenium. https://github.com/Ryzee119/OpenXenium It has full support for XeniumOS and its features. Repo will list them. The Xenium CPLD is normally read protected to prevent clones. This project did not attempt to break that protection, instead I determined the behavioral properties of the CPLD to write my own VHDL source code. Check the repo out! there is a few xenium related tools that may even help people with a genuine Xenium! Hopefully this will help with LPC related CPLD projects people may have in mind too. Enjoy! Ryan
  2. Hi all! I'm having some trouble with installing an OpenXenium purchased from MakeMHZ into an Xbox 1.0. I'm relatively new to this, and have surely made some mistakes. When I start it up, it does this: https://imgur.com/a/HTHYrU2 Here's what I know: Stupidly, I soldered the D0 pad on the modchip to the 1.6 pad - that has been fixed. I don't think this is the issue, because I have a second chip that I did not make this mistake with, and it still does not work. I didn't scrape the solder mask off LPC ports, and really had trouble flowing the joints. The one I'm most concerned with is the bottom right joint of the first photo. Can I run a jump wire from that to one of the nearby test pads? I'm fairly confident the D0 pad on the modchip is correctly connected to D0 on the board - I tested the continuity from the chip to the both points on the board, and was good. I have photos available here: https://imgur.com/a/FX7R43B Thanks for any info in advance!!
  3. Hi all, I've lurked here for a while now. This is a great forum to get info from. Thank you. Question - I've been working on XBoxes for a while now, and I just got my hands on a 1.0 with a dead Thompson drive and an even deader original Seagate hard drive (showing error 7). Upon opening the case, I realized it had an old modchip on the underside of the board: https://imgur.com/ZGJwShp Does anyone know what modchip this is? I'm mostly curious what that chip is. It's a very clean install and I've never seen one like it. If I tweak the laser pot and get the DVD drive working, will this modchip be able to boot Hexen? I have an Aladdin XT chip and a new laser coming in the mail, but they're a month away. I'm wondering if I can get the drive running just long enough to boot Hexen and install a new hard drive, maybe TSOP the box and then remove this older modchip. Thank you in advance!
  4. hello my friends i have an xbox 1.0 and i want to install modchip for what is best one for it and also mine works with 100.125 ac and i want to change it to 200.245 ac because iam living in kuwait how i can change that and can i change hetsink fan and use thermal grizzly thermal paste
  5. So i've bought a nice chip called a Jafar, a Rebuild of the Aladdin. It has 3 Banks. 1 512k, 1 256k and 1 256k with Xblast ( Autoboots ) Fitted this and it all works a charm, Now i'm thinking I might also Tsop it. Its a 1.4 Board. Could I simply solder the tsop points on the 1.4 board, Boot the chip into Xblastos which gives the option to flash the Tsop as well as the other 2 banks and flash it? Or would I need to look at removing some of the Chip? Maybe the g0 gound?
  6. Hello all, I have an Xecuter 2.6 New and Sealed and this - XBOX JoyTech 6" Screen NEAR MINT - Retro Boxed - Super Rare | eBay plus a RARE Xbox to Jamma converter and harness. I am also considering the sale of my arcade machine... Needs some TLC but not much - I am UK based Thanks Its open to offers as it needs to go... I will upload pictures ASAP
  7. Curious as to what could be inside. Any ideas?
  8. Hello, i recently found my old xbox again and i noticed that when i want to go into the official dashboard i get error code 13 and it prevents me to enter it. everything else works but the problem is i want to change my system language and audio settings and it seems it is only possible via the og dashboard. anyone able to help me out? i found a bunch of compilation discs but it seems they are only for softmodded consoles. thanks in advance!
  9. So i kind of excited to finally have it and want to ask if there is anything else i need to get this running. i have the little board for my xbox so in theory i should be good to go but i wanna make sure i ask those more experienced then me so i don't mess up.
  10. So i have a 1.6 or 1.6b xbox and i ordered a mod chip to try modding it. i see every time someone mods an xbox that have this board that they use with it. I don't have that board and want to ask if its possible to mod it without it.
  11. Does someone have stock .BINs files of the bios for the DuoX 3 modchip? Both banks please. Would like to return it to stock. (Image source= https://www.nh-game.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=92)
  12. Anyone have a strong opinion on which they prefer and why? I went with the softmod, but what are the pro's / con's of this compared to other methods? Especially modchips.
  13. I recently came across a four OG Xboxes in a cupboard. One of them was literally brand new... until yesterday For some strange reason, I decided to softmod the box and install a larger HDD, so I now have a softmodded 1.6 xbox with a 2TB drive, with 8 hours of uptime from new. I don't know what I was thinking when I did it, but the empty bottle of Hennessey probably explains it. Anyway, I've done it. It's no longer a spanking new old xbox. It's not a softmodded xbox, with 8 hours of use, so... is it worth fitting a chip, or should I just go and hang my head in shame? (yeah, WTF was I thinking!) Your thoughts? (expletives welcomed, accepted and appreciated).
  14. I'm talking about the chip itself, the one in the green circle in the picture below. Not the modchip as a whole. I'm a bit curious: The modchip is installed in the Xbox but the BIOS flash failed. (The one I have in my Xbox is soldered, not put it with a pin-header) i) Since it's socketed, could I, theoretically, insert a new modchip there when the Xbox is turned off, and it should work? ii) If I start the Xbox with the working chip, use HeXEn to go to the flasher program and before I start the procedure, I take out the good chip and change it with the badly flashed and then continue with the flashing, would it flash it correctly? Assuming it will not just burn the chips when I take them out-in? Has anyone tried something like that? YOLO?
  15. So i opened my V1.0 Xbox to do some cleanup and was reading about TSOP, so i got the motherboard out and saw this. The Xbox boots into the Unleash X dashboard and there are no logos or other signs of a modification. The Xbox is softmodded i think, with a 160Gb HDD. I wonder what functions i can activate with the modchip and know for sure if it's working? It seems it's not doing anything. Thanks.
  16. I got an 1.6 xbox softmoded and I want to install an aladdin chip. Is there any possibility Softmod interfeer with modchip? Am I good to do it?
  17. Hello Together, I bought an xbox today and planned to do a softmod. When opening the console to remove the clock capacitor, I noticed that a modchip is already installed. Unfortunately, I can't find any information about this chip. Can you help me further? Can I just ignore the chip or should I pay attention to something? Is it possible to simply install a SoftMod ! Thank you for your help !
  18. First of all, thank you dear community for the oportunity to be a part of something good! I have a strange problem, have xbox 1.4 with aladdin XS MODCHIP, an older modchip ,but nonetheless it is working, As i want to upgrade to larger HDD, i pot-ed thomson drive, because it was failing, i put the 80 gb hdd, but i get error 13 and/or 16, the problem is that hexen or slayers cant read dvd from the first try,and always it can read from the second, third, etc. Also reads backups and reads hexen and slayers from retail HDD. Orange light is ok,evox sign is in the left-upper corner,it tries to read dvd hexen, but gets me to error 13 or 16 (this is only when i put blank HDD instead of the retail one)? DVD TRIES TO SPIN 2-3 TIMES, BUT NO BOOT TO HEXEN OR SLAYERS DISC,THEN ERRORS FOR MISSSING DASHBOARD Is there any solution to this?would appreciate very much,i could provide any information needed, THANKS IN ADVANCE
  19. Hello, i change my hdd drive to bigger 1tb drive and after succesful cloning i tried to format the new drive with XBpartitioner 1.3 and it complained about "LBA48 info not found! etc..(pic bellow) i tried to flash new bios with hexen 2018 but then that complained about "flash not writeable". i wonderd that do i need to get somewhere the newest bios and put it directly to my modchip via usb cable. our am i missing some step in this setup?
  20. Just picked up a few xboxes and some extras. Among the extras was an Xbit 1..5 chip. Id like to test it and find out if it works. But im not finding any info on how to install it anywhere. Does anyone have any info on the chip and maybe an install/Flashing guide? would be much appreciated, as this will be my First chip install!!
  21. Hi, just picked up another xbox seeing as my last one went t*** up after a tsop bio flash. It's been opened already and upon inspection I found this. Can anyone identify? Tnx
  22. Hey guys, I just found this forum googling for an instruction for my modchip. Probably 14 years ago i installed this modchip and it worked fine for years. A few years ago after i moved i wanted to use my xbox again and it dind't work at all. So today I atemped another try. I reconed a loose cable which supposedly needed to be connectet to ground, which i did. Now the Xbox does boot the original bios. I can see my copied music and game saves. Trying to start it with pressing the power button for 2 seconds sometime leeds to atempt to start in whatever bios is installed on the modchip, but it restarts in the original bios. Nevertheless the LED on the modchip does light up on start. Do you have an idea how to get it to boot up with the modchip or a procedure to test if the modchip itself is actually working? Maybe you can point me to thread i missed.
  23. Hi all, sadly the Xecuter X3 BIOS User's Manual has been removed from http://x3.bustedchain.com/ and from the team executer site. Does anyone have it saved as a complete webpage that I could go get a copy of? Would be most obliged if so thanks! Or does anyone know of any mirror still hosting these pages? Cheers!
  24. Hi modding noob and first time poster here..just need some help with the IGR function on this xbox 1.6 I bought used. Everytime I try to use the button combination for IGR the console goes back to the logo then the screen blanks out. I would then need to do a hardboot to get back to the dash. Another thing I noticed is I need to hold the power button for at least 2 seconds to get the chip to load the custom bios or else it would just give out an error code. Plus for some strange reason the chip isn't flashable according to evox, though I know these aladdin chips should be flashable? I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the modchip probably not wired correctly, so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated. 136470232_800537637170333_6562823261258646262_n.mp4
  25. I had xodus matrix on my ogxbox, and the original IDE HDD went bad, so I got my self 120gb SATA SSD harddrive, 80pin cable, IDE-SATA adapter. I decided to remove the chip when I removed the clock capacitor and reinstall it. I installed the new SATA HD with the adapter and I try to boot-up I don't get xodus matrix Bios at the bottom of the screen, and Hexen 2020 does not load. I am not sure if I need to re-program the chip and reload the Bios (which I no longer have) again. I still got the programmer board, and the loader winLPC tool...any advice what/where I get a BIOS to move forward and make sure it is not a modchip issue
