About Me

  1. EDIT: This item has now been sold. Thanks to all who were interested. This X3 chip comes complete with solderless header, wiring, front indicator lights and bank switches, and power button interface board. This was pulled from a working system and booted right up. I accept PayPal and will foot the bill to ship anywhere in the US. As listed in the title, the asking price is $100. Thanks!
  2. Hello World So I've finally found a Xblast Modchip but... broken one, before buying it, would be happy to hear any advices from the techy folks regarding this situation and what can be done. So seems like the guy who sells it, somehow succeded to crack that U4 chip, and cut a few legs on the Xilinx CPLD, which looks like - they can not be repopulated. The questions are: 1, What chip is U4? 2. Will the new replacement Xilinx XC9572XL CPLD need any firmware? (did not found anything on the xblast repository) 3. Will the SVF from Aladdin Xblast Mod work in this case? (as I know, to launch XBlast bios on Aladdin Modchip, the PLCC32 must have the bios itself, then CPLD also should be written with something) This is how the SVF for Aladdin CPLD LC4032V-XXT44 starts: ! 3. Hello, I'm trying to get my old modded xbox working. Back in the day I was big into it, but I damaged the board messing with led's and eventually moved onto the pc world. I picked up another xbox from ebay and put my old modchip and my old 250gb hd in, but it's only showing 5gb and none of the games are showing up, so I'm hoping I can flash some new software on it and get it working again. I've been out of the loop on xbox mods for over 10 years, but everyone says hexen will have the software I need, so here I am
  4. I have 5 boxes, two 1.4 rest 1.0-1.1. and during my families quarterly big amazon order "Of Savings" I ordered a few aladdin chips at 3.99 each. At this point i have done more than a few tsop and general softmods. I have Zero fear when it comes to physical installs of components (minus ram. I dont have a hot air station yet.). So is there any benefit to installing the aladdin chip to any of my non 1.6 systems? Even if the benefit is small i am interested as my truer passion with all of this is to create the ultimate best of the best systems.
  5. Came across a beautiful selection of wiring diagrams for a bunch of commonly found mod chips. These images are in high-quality HD very easy to read can be downloaded and zoomed in to read perfectly. I am not the Creator of these pictures. The Creator is YouTube channel techno on top. This person normally does Xbox mods on YouTube. There's a video where he shows each of these pictures for 1 minute. I merely took a screenshot of each. Thought it would help out the community here. In any event I hope somebody could use these images. Please pass them around and enjoy Wiring Diagram More common Hardmod Chips.7z
  6. Ive been working on an open source legal modchip project, here's a pic of my first one. Yes the soldering is rough (thats being nice) but its basically an Aladdin open source clone with XBlast

are the aladin chip on ebay legit?
  8. Dear, all Xbox fellow I had a spiderchip since 14 years ago for my xbox, which is still working. ABout 2 weeks ago, I wrongly flash 512kb bios into my xbox (1.1) TSOP (1mb), causing it unbootable. I was trying to find a way to recover the TSOP, and one way was to use a modchip with special bios "tsop_m7.bin" for recovery. So I did flash the spiderchip with tsop_m7.bin. But I forgot my DVDROM is not working, so this method is not workable. And eventually the TSOP issue was resolved with "3-wire trick". Now, the spiderchip is left useless without normal bios, and it seems the guaranty way for recovery is to use external programmer, which I don't have and don't know how to use. There are some forums discussed quite good success of using modchip hotswap, and even Softmod to flash modchip (NOT TSOP). So I decided to use most cheapest way - softmod - to recover my spiderchip. But as my Xbox 1.1 mobo is soldered for TSOP flash, I don't want to revert back to stock status. I remember my cousin has a Xbox 1.5 (softmoded) which has not been used for long time. Borrowed from him, still can turn on, BUT ERROR 07, reconnect/changing IDE cable didn't work. Changed to another HDD, Error 06, obviously it should be the HDD issue. My cousin doesn't have eeprom backup in PC, but he is quite sure it was backed up inside the 8G xbox HDD (WDC). So I tried many times to do HDD hotswap connected to my laptop through USB-IDE cable and XboxHDM (Windows version), no luck, the Xbox HDD lock status is alwasy enabled. NOT sure it is because of wrong timing or USB-IDE problem which may trigger the HDD to relock. In actual fact, the easiest way to access locked xbox hdd is to use modchip, but the spiderchip is useless with tsop_m7.bin bios inside. Out of sudden, I was wondering, Can this special bios be used to re-flash the modchip? According to the steps in https://assemblergames.com/threads/1-0-1-5-tsop-recover-bios-tsop_m7-bin.54493/ , A15 & D0 need to be removed in sequence in order to activate TSOP, but I am not aiming at TSOP, so I don't remove the A15 & D0, Should it work to re-flash the spiderchip? Anyway, I have already tried last night, and I am facing the problem to boot to the Orange Xbox logo (tsop_m7) on this Xbox v1.5. Previously i had nearly no issue to get the orange xbox logo on my xbox v1.1. when chip-in with this spiderchip. The v1.5 Xbox remains with black screen for 1-2min, then shutdown and reboot automatically, However, there about 3-4 instances, when I can see the orange logo, ONLY BY slightly lifting the spiderchip off the board (then re-seat?). But that is not always working. Out of this 3-4 instances of seeing orange logo, only one instance could move to a new blue screen saying the xbox hdd need to be formatted, do you want to proceed? Surprisingly, it is not HeXEn DVD main menu, which I am expecting. I understand the spiderchip is solderless, which is not stable in terms of contact with LPC, But I am quite sure that, as long as using my finger to press the chip into the LPC, the spiderchip is working perfectly, But why is so for xbox v1.5 , do I need to shortcircuit or ground some points Peter
  9. I have an xbox v1.6 that i had modded with the white X2 duo GS probably 12 years ago that worked flawlessly. Well i put it in storage and took it out maybe a year ago and the HDD died and i could not get it to boot from either of the banks on the chip, both just make it turn on and off. The xbox is softmodded now with a new HDD but i really want to get this chip working again. does anyone have any ideas to get a bios back on it or why it might have just died from not being used? i also have two other xbox systems, one of them v1.4 that i just did the tsop flash for the first time using this page and that worked great and i have another that is either 1.2-1.5 that is softmodded but not yet tsop flashed. can i use them to flash it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Looking for Aladdin XT 4064 with LCD support, if you are willing to sell one, let me know your price.
  11. I just installed an aladin xt 4032 modchip on an 1.6 xbox. Everything works and went well. But I noticed after I turned off my xbox the red led on the modchip still stays on. Is this normal?
  12. Hello hi I'm looking to buy a 4 by 20 executor 3 LCD screen just the screen and bezel only. I have the chip already installed in my main go to Xbox and is running excellent. I'm just looking for a working screen that is known working .. with the connection that will connect directly into the chip without soldering. I am well aware that the screens are a little difficult to get your hards on... but I did find some on eBay they just did not have the specific end that plugs into the mod chip. If all else fails I will have to buy one of these and solder them directly to the chip. But by doing that I am seriously lowering the value of the chip in the future. I would like to purchase or trade for this X3 lcd screen with bezel and connection to the original X3 chip.. If you have an extra screen and you would like it to go to a good home I'm your guy. I live in Canada I am PayPal ready and I also have a lot of cool stuff for trade Xbox related.. Please contact me through this site. and we can discuss where we are going from here.. Thank you very much for reading this I hope somebody has this part for me. Attached is a picture of the Xbox I would love to add the screen to.. Thanks again Frank
  13. Looking for a X3 LCD front panel. What's out there? Message me if you have one available. I do have some trades available and paypal. Located in New Hampshire, United States.
