  6. Hi - I recently updated my hard drive using HDM v 1.9 and it is now ready to mod - I have two options 1. Since I have all the files from back in the day to use Splinter Cell the SID I could mod it easily then I can use put Rocky 5 over it using the Rocky 5 disk. OR 2. Go to the trouble of setting up Rocky 5 Memory card mod -using a flash drive and Splinter Cell - have all the leads from back in the day and recently downloaded all the files and software needed. My question is does it matter if I choose the lazy option (number 1 above) or since I'm starting afresh with a new drive should I take the Option 2 route? Thanks in advance
  7. Hello everyone. Quite new to this site, I was more active a couple of years ago when it came to the OG Xbox, but since, much else in life has taken it's time,, and I got stucj in the RGH business some years,, and I notice how quickly the memory fades. So now, when time has come back to dust off the old consoles that's been standing in the closet for some years now, many of the sites has been gone with the wind,, but, then I found this one : and I'm glad to see that the OG Xbox community still flourishes,, with a lot of new updates and upgrades since I last installed XBMC from a AID 4. disc. So,, I thought I would see if there's any bright minded folks that know something about a chip I discovered in a recently purchased 1.6. I searched about it but all I come across is dead links. The chip is a Muppet-X,, neither Kermit or Animal, but a white one with a 4 pin connector where only D0 is used, no BT etc,, those I removed, just want always on mode. But, I can't find any information about flash bank sizes, or the switch, so I have not been able to update the bios on this rare thing. So is there anyone with information about this thing I would be grateful.
  8. I've actually seen a few people talking about this all ready here and on facebook but just wanted to share it for those who haven't. A full tutorial on how to install a custom LCD screen in your original Xbox (NON-X3) that has a temperature monitor so you can constantly see what temp your console is running at to help prolong the lifespan and keep things cool! You can see it on my website by clicking the link below: Tutorial on how to install an LCD screen in your original Xbox console
  9. Got 2 Ram upgraded motherboards for sale. Both have the clock caps removed, have no signs of trace rot and have the IND5004 flashed to the TSOP. Both have the Ram cleanly upgraded to 128mb and are a drop in replacement for your current motherboard. International shipping does cost 20€ including tracking and insurace. Price: 70€ each (around 80US$) +shipping costs. Also attached a shot of the solder work so you see what you get.

  19. Hi, I was wondering about this new dumb newbe question. Do I have to hard mod my original Xbox for me to put in a bigger HD in it? From what I could find on the internet the answer is yes, but I came across other videos that say no. So now I am confused. Also when I soft Mod my xbox the ring not turns green at start up, but when I get the menu it turns yellow? Everything works fine, plays games fine and stuff. Should I be concerned about this? Thanks! -Lockar
  20. I have a 1.0 Xbox that has the dreaded "Christmas Lights" flashing on the eject button. It tries to boot twice before doing its signature Red and Green flashing. Nothing is displayed on the TV so no codes are provided. It also makes a terrible noise when it fails to boot up. After tearing it down completely, cleaning everything top to bottom, removing the clock capacitor (which did not leak thank god), opening and inspecting the DVD drive then hooking everything back up I'm about 99% sure the condition and noise is being caused by a faulty HDD. My question is, assuming my diagnosis is correct, if I bought a SATA HDD (with the proper cables and converter) and installed an Aladdin XT Plus2 Modchip inside would it bring this Xbox back to life? Again, the theory is that the original HDD took a shat so I'm not worried about the DVD drive or motherboard. If there are any other steps I should take (EXCEPT softmodding and replacing the whole console) please let me know. If you require any other information I can also provide it for you. Thank you for your time and help on the matter!
  21. I have been thinking about doing a mod to allow for the use of a Xbox 360 controller. I used to have a wireless S-controller rip off which worked great but I lost it during moving some time go. I also have the Logitech one, but I really despise it. It just feels wrong and in no way is as good as the s-controller. I do love the 360 controller and use that for my 360 and my Opensuse based media centre. So I would also like to use it on a Xbox. I was thinking of using a Raspberry Pi, a Xbox 360 usb receiver, custom usb connector/output to connect to the Xbox motherboard and connector for auto on/off with the xbox button on the 360. On the Pi I want to load a lightweight Linux with the Xboxdrv driver to take the input of the 360 controllers and translate it to the OG xbox controller output, using some of the code from this same driver which also supports the original xbox controller. A bit worried about lag and my ability to mod the driver code, but seems like an interesting challenge. Any one seeing other challenges or maybe has tried this and found it impossible
  22. Today I worked on taking apart controllers and cleaning them up. I figured while I was at it I would go ahead and take apart and clean up my remote power button and USB adapter mod too. I made this probably about 12 years ago. I took an Xbox Live communicator apart and replaced the circuit board with a simple breadboard from Radio Shack. I put a USB port where the volume knob used to be and a switch under the mute button. I modded my Xbox with the yellow wire remote power button mod so I wired up the switch as the remote power button. The nice thing about modding this communicator is that I can plug it into any controller and have a remote power button without modding the controller itself. It is also great for softmodding systems by plugging a USB drive directly into the communicator instead of making a USB adapter cable that I would have to search for whenever I work on modding a system.
  23. Hi, I have hex edited the most common X2 5035 Bios files (Vanilla, VGA-Mod and Force480p Mod) in order to load the x2config.ini and the x2logo.bmp from C-Drive. If the files are not found on C, the BIOS will attempt to load from E as usual. It is not possible to load from F any more! Multiupload Mirrors 5035_ConfigC.rar
