About Me

  1. Is there a bios patch to support 128mb ram for the m8 plus bios? I have a launch xboxhdmi kit from makemhz that I'm going to install tomorrow.
  2. Hello everyone, I am reaching out to the community for some help. Long story I had a working HDMI mod with Open xenium on an Xbox. I wanted to try the ram upgrade. I had the Hynix ram stock, tried to replace them with Samsung, ram error and could not get that board to work again. I used a working spare board from my stock Xbox and just brought the open xenium and Makemhz HDMI over. I rebuilt the LPC using Amtech flux and my hakko soldering iron with my Kester ledded solder. I get great joints with these in combination and using an amscope for seeing what I'm doing. A mistake I think I made because it's been awhile, I removed the AV port and did both the LPC rebuild for the open xenium and HDMI board at the same time. Like I said it's been awhile and I may just need to patch the bios right? Problem is I am getting solid green on the chip and HDMI board (btw I used a new flex cable and use precision micro soldering pen to get those joins solid. I tested with a multimeter getting continuity and 33 ohms across each. No bridging or issues I can see under the scope with the ribbon cable, connector or the packages. I rebuilt the lpc again and still persists. One issue I should be honest and mention is the pin I took out for the lpc pins second one on the back left (was on some install guides to remove the pin). The hole pan was burnt off. Completely my mistake had the iron temp set way too high for another project. The trace going from that to a via on the front side of the board had been disconnected. That via goes to the back of the board but then it goes to the lpc where the pin is missing anyways. Basically I don't know if this is the issue. I am not getting a short that I can tell. Do I need to reflash my open xenium since it was working and setup on the old Xbox or is the issue that disconnected trace from the burnt out hole to the via, or is it something else potentially, can I test something with my multimeter? Do I just need to somehow patch the bios. Idk how now with the old av port missing. Audio works when I disconnect the open xenium but no video. I tried my testbench HDMI monitor. I tested my crt with an adapter that adjusts an HDMI signal to be adapted to composite. I tested on my TV upstairs and computer monitor with three good known working HDMI cables. I get no video when xenium is plugged in. I get no frag and can't see anything under the scope or infrared camera for chips going bad like the encoder. I've attached a short video showing the status of the lights. Any help is appreciated, thank you. https://youtu.be/Q00fV6C5C7c
  3. Hi i have wire and motherboard mount for pc the only part missing in board that send power using atx power supply i need some to build me one and yes i will pay you also $300 to $500 usd.
  4. Since I didn't have found a topic for this I createt this one just to talk and show of some things. So, we all know that the HD44780 2004 version is a little big. Little me read a lot and found some ppl. cuting the bottom of. Yeah, I also did one of those and removed the controller ports 3&4 (Who has 3 frinds anyway?). I like the look with the 2 ports removed ( Picture : Click me softly ) but no one ever has cut of the top or at least, I didn't found any infos about that. So brave how I am I grabed my mighty cuting tool and wuschhhhh, 1 finger gone cut of the top. Soldered some cables to the vias and what can I say, You can totaly do that: Some of the pictures which I have taken incl some notes : https://imgur.com/a/SxdDdcA Full Picture Pack DL (31.46 MB) : https://1fichier.com/?uiz9bwiv6xdiwq1ylog9 And some thing else. How it looks, the green displays are slightly better as the blue ones. How ever, maybe some search the info and this one can help him a little. EDIT: And excude the horrible trace soldering. It was just to see if it would wörk at the end so didn't want to win a price with it.
  5. Hey. Today I found the time to do the mod. However, I didn't used a AladdinXT clone, I used an Xenochip lite modchips I have laying around. Both have the same LC4032v, connect them in the same way to the pads so what can go wrong right? So the problem I have is that the display did not display anything. It lights up and I have fancy black blocks on it but, thats it. X4G is setup for it right (contrast to 20%) and I know that the display works (testet with an SmartXX). Some pictures: https://imgur.com/a/GHOxLqr Pinout, solder points checked as shown below : RS -> L1 -> Pin 30 (B9) E -> D0 -> Pin 31 (B10) (And also to Pin 29 (B8). Checked that on a non modded chip and it's the same.) Vo -> HD -> Pin 9 (A10) RW -> Ground. D7 -> SST Pad 10 -> Pin 43 (A3) D6 -> SST Pad 11 -> Pin 42 (A2) D5 -> SST Pad 13 -> Pin 41 (A1) D4 -> BT -> Pin 26 (B7) VSS & Backlight- -> Pin 27 (Ground) VCC & Backlight+ -> NONE, just the pin from the LPC header. Note: Just 1 huge ground on the Xenochip Lite. So any help would be welcome.
  6. Hello recently found my old modded oG xbox, dont know what kind of mod it is. Iknow it had Evolution.x(xbmc). So when i click the power button it sounds like it wants to boot up but shuts off. when i click the eject button the xbox turns on goes right to clock setting and it allows me to play disc games on it, i tried a couple discs and the games loaded up fine, however not downloaded games/emulators on hard drive. When i look in the memory i can see saved files of xbox games that are saved on the drive. Took it apart and see there is a blue chip installed, labeled (duo x2). And its blinking red. Not sure if thats my problem. can anyone help. Thanks
  7. Evening everyone. Tried to post this on /OriginalXbox and for some reason my post isn't going up even though I've been active in it for sometime now. Anyway here is what I am trying to do: Hey fam! I have a 6 Xboxes. 3 are 1.0 and all have chips. 2 Jafars, one x2.0 pro. Most had issues one way or another and I had the chips lying around anyway. So out of convenience at the time, I installed them. I figure I don't need them in there. I already understand the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I just want the chips for other boxes. Definitely not new to the OG, I've just never swapped mods other than chips. I have TSOP'd before, so bridging points is not a problem. I am just trying to figure out steps. These are my thoughts: Drives are all unlocked (partitioned, formatted, no retail/stock dash), so I am thinking pull the drives, rebuild to stock with FatXplorer, install the drive back in the box, then relock with the modchip still in. Pull the modchip and disconnect d0 Bridge points Boot from exploitable game Use SweetDarkDestiny's TSOP MC Flash Program or his flasher disc Profit? Just looking to see if anyone has done something similar and if this process sounds like it will work? Looking for any and all input other than "don't do it." If I mess up, I still have the chips right?
  8. Remembering back to when I purchased my first Xecuter 3 mod chip, I was annoyed to discover the bank switch did not come with it. Payed the price for getting a used one, or at least making sure it came with everything. I looked all over to see if someone could help me jumper connections so I could use the different banks available to no avail. Finally I bought one new, which is not a choice nowadays. So I am dissecting switches and making schematics for each, starting with the most popular Xecuter 3. I have already mapped out the Xecuter 2.2 Pro and Xecuter 2.3b and will make a .jpg for them as well. Not being familiar with the programs used to edit pictures and make these, it took me 3 times as long to make this one schematic than it took me to test and map it out. I'm saying this in hopes I won't get flamed for poor work, I just want to help. Let me know what you think.

  10. Don't feel like taking off my panel to check, but I coulda sworn I saw a pcb in front of the ir window on my Control Panel. Do I just have to get a compatible remote?
  11. This guide and pictures taken from: http://www.biline.ca/xbox_solder.htm TSOP Flashing Unlock points if you are unsure which Xbox version you have click Here TSOP unlock points for version 1.0/1.1 Xbox This is the top of the motherboard Connect the two solder pads at R7D3 as in photo above. This is the bottom side of motherboard Connect the two solder pads at R7R3 as in photo above. All Ver 1.0/1.1 Xbox's with a 'SHARP' TSOP chip must also connect the additional red wire as in the photo above. All other TSOP's DO NOT require this step. TSOP Unlock points for all Versions 1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5/ Xbox's This is the top side of the motherboard These Xbox's have both points located on the top of the motherboard, for the first point connect the two solder pads at R7D10 as in photo above. For the second point locate the junction between R7D2 and R7D1 and connect the two solder pads as in the photo above. After the solder points are completed you should re-assemble your xbox (but leave the top cover off) when the power button is pressed it should boot normally as it did before you started. Note if you get the message TSOP write protected while attempting to Flash the TSOP you might need to check and resolder the points to ensure a good connection was m while attempting to Flash the TSOP you might need to check and resolder the points to ensure a good connection was made. To split Split a 1MB TSOP (v1.0, v1.1) into 4 banks of 256k, the following picture explains how to accomplish this: Note: If you have a 1.6/1.6b Xbox, it has no TSOP and therefore you cannot flash it. You will have to install a modchip or softmod.
  12. Hello all i have stripped my Samsung DVD drive to its bare essentials and made a clear Perspex Lid Mod. I want to add a LED to this feature but don’t want long cables crammed inside can I get power straight from the DVD drive? this would be beneficial if I want to take it apart I can just unplug from the cable. I have found a pin layout but it’s for the motherboard & I’m not sure if I’m correctly thinking I can copy the wires to what looking at on the bottom of the DVD drive
  13. hello, i'm looking for one or two hdmi mod to buy, first seen it is in this forum but seems the guy is not active anymore. on castlemania, i missed the stock reflow this weekend. if anyone have some for sale, im from france and would be happy to deal with ya. cheers
  14. Hey guys. It is 2023 and still running this wonderful box for my arcade cab. I recently figured that my idle CPU temperature is at about 59 C. I thought this maybe a bit high to have a long life. Maybe this type of processor can handle it but I would want to check for cooling possibilities. At first I've installed a 80mm Noctua. And it shows 59 C°. in the dash. GPU is about 10 C° lower. I wanted to override fan speed in the dash... but those settings don't effect the speed. At least I can't hear anything happening. Then I wanted to check for the ind-bios.cfg to raise the idle speed. And here comes the next thing... I don't have it? I couldn't find it. I am running a 1512 mhz mod with basic xmbc dash/ ind.bios pre setup by N64 Freak. Is the *.cfg file hidden somewhere or injected somehow? Can I just copy one to C:\? Any chance for me to raise fan speed permanently? Or is it fixed due to power supply and always runs at max? How you guys handle temperature on those mods? And why there is no effect when using the override option in the dash an pumping from 10% to 100%? Happy to hear your voices and hints to keep this baby alive for years to come. All best, Dan
  15. Hello people. i managed to fix the traces and install the xecuter2 modchip which i had spare. switched it on with the switches in correct position and im getting a bios flash screen. now the funny thing is now. when i switch the chip off via the switch. i fort it would boot into the ms dash board. which it dosent. the console switches on but nothing comes on the screen. so now the flashing. i dont have no blank dvds to install the bios. only way is to ftp into the console. i did try and quickly ftp into it using a normal ethernet cable plugged in to my network splitter but it wont connect. do i need a user name and password. been so many year i cant even remember is this chip working properly well atleast is it supossed to be doing what its doing cheers people
  16. So, I have two Xboxes that I want to set up roughly the same way. One will be a back up as it has always been that. Ideally I would use the same type chips but that may not be the best given my situation. I know very little about the modding scene but I'm trying to figure it out. I can't even figure out where to buy chips yet lol. Every place seems to be out. The most important things to me are storing games on a bigger hard drive and the ability to play on insignia. Maybe some slight performance Tweeks too but honestly I'm pretty good rocking the stock unit. I have over 100 disks I would like to toss on the hard drive and then store the physical copies someplace safe. I will never use emulators or anything else on these systems. Xbox 1- My original system from 2001. It's a v1.0. Disk drive has failed and the hard drive is rumbly but still boots. The clock cap has been removed but it does have some trace issues with the power\eject button but has worked as is for the last several years. I just use the tray open button for everything based on length of press. The dead disk drive has shelved it for a while now. Xbox 2- found on the side of the road. Works perfectly. It's a v1.6 though so not ideal. I haven't opened it up yet but I assume it's all oem. I will be using this ones hard drive on the other one if needed for any reason. I am currently using this one as my primary though the other one has a custom case and I prefer it.
  17. So, I can't download anything until 15 posts, so I have a question. I think my v1.0 ide hard drive is dying...I was playing dance dance and the system became very slow and sluggish to dance pad presses. (The pad worked fine on the ps2) I did open up the xbox console for the first time, cleaned up the board, chopped out the clock capacitor (a very small amount of leakage), applied new thermal paste to the chips. The fans seemed like they were functioning fine. But..... I'm curious about the hard drive. Can I just clone the hard drive to a new hard drive and call it a day? Must I hard or soft mod the system before putting in a new hard drive?
  18. i see the open xenuims have gotten expensive. what's the best to use now?
  19. Hey guys take a look at this classic piece of case modding... Looks like it was either done by a kid or by a very impatient adult with the wrong tools!
  20. I haven't used my og Xbox for a while I decided I wanted it set up and to play it again did all of that and it goes to boot up gives me a display but shows the contact service center with error code 12. I looked up the code and it points to the dvd drive. I've opened it cleaned it and still no luck. What are my options would a hard mod and no dvd bios be a better fix than replacing the drive? Or would buying a parts machine be better. Thanks Kyran.
  21. Got 10 Diy install sets for the internal HDMI mod for sale right now. Keep in mind you should be handy with a soldering iron. It's not a lot more complicated than a chip install but if you already have trouble with an xbox chip leave this mod alone for now. Price for each set is: 70€ +shipping costs. Drop me a PM if you want one! The install set does include the main HDMI mod and the install adapters for ONE motherboard revisions so you have to decide which revision mothebroard to use when ordering
  22. So, since everyone has 3d printers now days (except me) and doing no longer real craftsmanship *LÖL* (Just kidding guys) and little me already thought a long time about doing this mod, I like to show you a work in progress (~75% done). The CPU heatsink fits nice and snug on the GPU (Less movement as on the CPU). Pics: https://imgur.com/a/YlyDcjF And the last pic shows a final heatsink with slightly trimmed cooling fins and 50mm cooler on top. At the end both of the cpu heatsinks will look like this (Taken that pic of one of my slim builds). And yea, it's for my next slim build which I biuld for my own. Let me know what you guys think and what you belive could be done better.
  23. As the title suggests, this is a collection of mods for the Xbox version of GTA: Vice City. The aim of this mod was to fix a couple of bugs, to make what I feel are improvements to the game's overall presentation, and to provide a fresh, new visual experience for the same Vice City you know and love, while still maintaining what made the atmopshere and feel of the 1980s American beach city setting so enjoyable. Retaining immersion was also important. If it couldn't have existed in 1986, you won't find it here. Performance was also a key focus. While the Xbox version of Vice City is capable of displaying larger textures just fine, the texture work here was (mostly with very few exceptions) kept at the same resolution with the same compression method as the original textures, because you will run into performance issues, namely regarding pop-in, textures failing to load properly, and frame rate hiccups if you do decide to go with larger textures. In my testing, this wasn't something immediately noticeable in the early stages of the game. It only really becomes an issue when you're driving back and forth between the two islands, particularly late game when you own a lot of properties. This modification performs just as well as the original release from beginning to end. It is recommended that you play this mod in WIDESCREEN with TRAILS OFF. New Roads: Original textures replaced with textures made from real images of Miami roads. This solves the issue of the blurry roads in the original release and generally looks better all around. Sidewalks replaced as well. New particle effects: Particle effects replaced with more realistic representations. GTA III's Liberty City holdover leaves that once scattered the ground have been replaced with palm leaves, much like they appear in the PS2 version. This one small change in particular has a surprisingly large effect on the atmosphere of the world. New Duds: New Miami Vice inspired suits for Tommy and Lance. Most outfits have been changed. From pallette swaps to complete replacements, the new outfits fit the game's world while simultaneously referencing various films, TV shows, and video games along the way. Each outfit functions in cutscenes as well. New timecycle: More colorful days and darker nights. Nights actually feel like night time now. Make the neon of Vice City shine brighter than ever against these blackened night skies, and enjoy beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Fits the beach weather perfectly and looks great with the Xbox version's unique lighting system. New foliage: Fuller and more colorful foliage textures make Vice City come alive. The Xbox version has always had inferior foliage to the PS2 version, this fixes that issue. Bug fixes: PS2 animations, including idle animations missing from the Xbox release, have been restored. Tommy now gives an "up yours" gesture with his arms instead of flipping a nonexistent finger (another GTA III holdover) when standing in front of traffic. A bug preventing the acquisition of the Havana outfit after completing certain missions has been fixed, it is always accessible after having been unlocked now. The brass knuckles have been resized to not look so outlandishly large. Aiming sites for weapons like assault and sniper rifles have been adjusted to display correctly in widescreen mode. This means they display incorrectly in 4:3 mode, however. New animations: A few improved animation replacements for Tommy. He runs with single handed and two handed weapons in a more believable way now. Walking, idles, sprinting, and just about everything else has been kept vanilla for the sake of familiar game feel. Tommy still sprints as fast as he always has - something that's typically changed for the worse with animation mods. Female character models no longer dislocate their hips as they walk. Peds overall have new animation. They all walk a little slower now than before, but their animations look less rubbery. New pedestrians: About 85% of peds replaced with their VCS counterparts. These pedestrians are higher quality than the ones found in the original release of Vice City. Better quality texture work, more colorful outfits, and more diverse models. New surprises: I've thrown in a number of retextured areas and objects throughout the game. From small world objects to interiors, there's a number of new things to see for returning veterans. New weapon: The Ruger has been replaced with an AK-47. New HUD: The radar ring has been replaced with a new, original ring. Icons on the main HUD, map icons, and weapon icons have been replaced with their 10th Anniversary counterparts. The pause screen map has been replaced with the 10th Anniversary map. New text: A few lines in the game's american.gxt file have been modified to reflect some of the changes this modification brings. Mostly in terms of outfit and weapon names. Download INSTALLATION: 1. Extract folders to any directory of your choosing 2. FTP all folders from the archive into your GTA: Vice City root folder on your Xbox, choose to overwrite files in the process. 3. IMPORTANT: Delete GTA_VC.CAP.Final file from your GTA: Vice City root folder if it exists 4. Clear your Xbox's cache and start the game 5. Have fun There shouldn't be any issues with running this mod on existing save files. Feel free to report any bugs you see. What I'd like to change in the future: Improve widescreen mode from the existing pan 'n scan implementation Fix the alpha render state for the target lock and sniper dot
  24. I have a modchip - currently unknown, I did it 10 years ago... Considering simplifying things and doing a tsop flash instead. So I know that the mod disables the onboard tsop (d0) so without enabling the chip, and disabling the mod, I cant access the tsop. But with the mod disabled, I cant boot unsigned, and therefore none of the flashing tools. So, am I correct is saying that once the mod is removed, I will need to soft mod, then flash? Is there another way? Switch on the d0 line maybe? boot to flasher, unplug mod (pin header install, and disconnect d0. is that even possible? Open to suggestions... Or.. I could just leave it alone...
  25. I have been lurking for a while and I am not sure what mod chip to get. I have looked at the spreadsheet and while it shows features of each I am not sure which one I should try and find. I also have been reading where it is hard to find some of these and there are some who are getting clones from Ali express. goals for my build would be install make mhz hdmi mod minimum 2TB drive for games 128MB upgrade I saw on the make mhz site there is an open xenium mod chip that is back ordered till Octoberish. Is that something people on here would recommend or should I look at something else? Are certain mod chips better with certain revisions of Xbox? Are certain other mods(LCD, 1.4Ghz CPU upgrade) better with other mod chips?
