About Me

  1. i see the open xenuims have gotten expensive. what's the best to use now?
  2. Hey guys take a look at this classic piece of case modding... Looks like it was either done by a kid or by a very impatient adult with the wrong tools!
  3. Got 10 Diy install sets for the internal HDMI mod for sale right now. Keep in mind you should be handy with a soldering iron. It's not a lot more complicated than a chip install but if you already have trouble with an xbox chip leave this mod alone for now. Price for each set is: 70€ +shipping costs. Drop me a PM if you want one! The install set does include the main HDMI mod and the install adapters for ONE motherboard revisions so you have to decide which revision mothebroard to use when ordering
  4. So, since everyone has 3d printers now days (except me) and doing no longer real craftsmanship *LÖL* (Just kidding guys) and little me already thought a long time about doing this mod, I like to show you a work in progress (~75% done). The CPU heatsink fits nice and snug on the GPU (Less movement as on the CPU). Pics: https://imgur.com/a/YlyDcjF And the last pic shows a final heatsink with slightly trimmed cooling fins and 50mm cooler on top. At the end both of the cpu heatsinks will look like this (Taken that pic of one of my slim builds). And yea, it's for my next slim build which I biuld for my own. Let me know what you guys think and what you belive could be done better.
  5. As the title suggests, this is a collection of mods for the Xbox version of GTA: Vice City. The aim of this mod was to fix a couple of bugs, to make what I feel are improvements to the game's overall presentation, and to provide a fresh, new visual experience for the same Vice City you know and love, while still maintaining what made the atmopshere and feel of the 1980s American beach city setting so enjoyable. Retaining immersion was also important. If it couldn't have existed in 1986, you won't find it here. Performance was also a key focus. While the Xbox version of Vice City is capable of displaying larger textures just fine, the texture work here was (mostly with very few exceptions) kept at the same resolution with the same compression method as the original textures, because you will run into performance issues, namely regarding pop-in, textures failing to load properly, and frame rate hiccups if you do decide to go with larger textures. In my testing, this wasn't something immediately noticeable in the early stages of the game. It only really becomes an issue when you're driving back and forth between the two islands, particularly late game when you own a lot of properties. This modification performs just as well as the original release from beginning to end. It is recommended that you play this mod in WIDESCREEN with TRAILS OFF. New Roads: Original textures replaced with textures made from real images of Miami roads. This solves the issue of the blurry roads in the original release and generally looks better all around. Sidewalks replaced as well. New particle effects: Particle effects replaced with more realistic representations. GTA III's Liberty City holdover leaves that once scattered the ground have been replaced with palm leaves, much like they appear in the PS2 version. This one small change in particular has a surprisingly large effect on the atmosphere of the world. New Duds: New Miami Vice inspired suits for Tommy and Lance. Most outfits have been changed. From pallette swaps to complete replacements, the new outfits fit the game's world while simultaneously referencing various films, TV shows, and video games along the way. Each outfit functions in cutscenes as well. New timecycle: More colorful days and darker nights. Nights actually feel like night time now. Make the neon of Vice City shine brighter than ever against these blackened night skies, and enjoy beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Fits the beach weather perfectly and looks great with the Xbox version's unique lighting system. New foliage: Fuller and more colorful foliage textures make Vice City come alive. The Xbox version has always had inferior foliage to the PS2 version, this fixes that issue. Bug fixes: PS2 animations, including idle animations missing from the Xbox release, have been restored. Tommy now gives an "up yours" gesture with his arms instead of flipping a nonexistent finger (another GTA III holdover) when standing in front of traffic. A bug preventing the acquisition of the Havana outfit after completing certain missions has been fixed, it is always accessible after having been unlocked now. The brass knuckles have been resized to not look so outlandishly large. Aiming sites for weapons like assault and sniper rifles have been adjusted to display correctly in widescreen mode. This means they display incorrectly in 4:3 mode, however. New animations: A few improved animation replacements for Tommy. He runs with single handed and two handed weapons in a more believable way now. Walking, idles, sprinting, and just about everything else has been kept vanilla for the sake of familiar game feel. Tommy still sprints as fast as he always has - something that's typically changed for the worse with animation mods. Female character models no longer dislocate their hips as they walk. Peds overall have new animation. They all walk a little slower now than before, but their animations look less rubbery. New pedestrians: About 85% of peds replaced with their VCS counterparts. These pedestrians are higher quality than the ones found in the original release of Vice City. Better quality texture work, more colorful outfits, and more diverse models. New surprises: I've thrown in a number of retextured areas and objects throughout the game. From small world objects to interiors, there's a number of new things to see for returning veterans. New weapon: The Ruger has been replaced with an AK-47. New HUD: The radar ring has been replaced with a new, original ring. Icons on the main HUD, map icons, and weapon icons have been replaced with their 10th Anniversary counterparts. The pause screen map has been replaced with the 10th Anniversary map. New text: A few lines in the game's american.gxt file have been modified to reflect some of the changes this modification brings. Mostly in terms of outfit and weapon names. Download INSTALLATION: 1. Extract folders to any directory of your choosing 2. FTP all folders from the archive into your GTA: Vice City root folder on your Xbox, choose to overwrite files in the process. 3. IMPORTANT: Delete GTA_VC.CAP.Final file from your GTA: Vice City root folder if it exists 4. Clear your Xbox's cache and start the game 5. Have fun There shouldn't be any issues with running this mod on existing save files. Feel free to report any bugs you see. What I'd like to change in the future: Improve widescreen mode from the existing pan 'n scan implementation Fix the alpha render state for the target lock and sniper dot
  6. I have a modchip - currently unknown, I did it 10 years ago... Considering simplifying things and doing a tsop flash instead. So I know that the mod disables the onboard tsop (d0) so without enabling the chip, and disabling the mod, I cant access the tsop. But with the mod disabled, I cant boot unsigned, and therefore none of the flashing tools. So, am I correct is saying that once the mod is removed, I will need to soft mod, then flash? Is there another way? Switch on the d0 line maybe? boot to flasher, unplug mod (pin header install, and disconnect d0. is that even possible? Open to suggestions... Or.. I could just leave it alone...
  7. I have been lurking for a while and I am not sure what mod chip to get. I have looked at the spreadsheet and while it shows features of each I am not sure which one I should try and find. I also have been reading where it is hard to find some of these and there are some who are getting clones from Ali express. goals for my build would be install make mhz hdmi mod minimum 2TB drive for games 128MB upgrade I saw on the make mhz site there is an open xenium mod chip that is back ordered till Octoberish. Is that something people on here would recommend or should I look at something else? Are certain mod chips better with certain revisions of Xbox? Are certain other mods(LCD, 1.4Ghz CPU upgrade) better with other mod chips?
  8. Hello all, I have a spare XBox, chip and HDD selling as a mod "kit" I just don't have the time or need for it now... This is a 1.6 XBox in working condition. The case has 2 very small marks on it - pictures of all this can be provided based on interest. I have an LPC rebuild board, an XBlast Aladdin2 chip originally bought from Retrogamerstuff and a WD 500GB HDD that has been unlocked and was previously used in another modded console - it still has EMUS, APPS and ROMS and stuff already installed. I can include a composite cable too, but no power cord. The consoles seem to sell between £30 and £50 the chips at £16 and the drives around £15 although I'm sure I paid a bit more as I bought NOS, anyway that would be £61 - £71. Selling here for £55 not including postage within the UK. Fire a message or reply if you are interested or have any questions, I can provide pictures too. Cheers!
  9. So had 4 xbox's sat in my room off ebay that I wanted to do ram upgrade on, booted one which greeted me with blue xbox logo and xecutor 2 at the bottom of the screen before loading what seemed be original dash. Opened it up and found a SST49LF002A chip hard wired onto the LPC port using enamled/magnet wire.
  10. Hello All, I'm about to get my mod on with one of my old 1.6 Xboxs. I've done a little bit of this, but I'm very intimidated by the "micro soldering" needed for the video ribbon cable. Does anyone out there know what type of soldering hardware I'll need to make that an easier step to accomplish? Tman
  11. I was given a broken Xbox version 1.0 and I want to take that mod chip and put in in my 1.3 . the chip is explained in more detail in this post I’ve found on the forum It was previously installed SOLDERLESS with a spring pin head system you just line up and screw down. When I took it out of the Xbox I noticed a random wire that was stabbed into the board? dose anyone know if this has a purpose or if it’s a necessity ? many thanks in advance
  12. My family absolutely adores our original xbox. It was modded back in the day with an Xecuter v2.6 chip with is connected to the debug pins, and a few other misc spots. I didn't get to the clock chip in time, and corrosion ate through the tiny edge traces under the board. I've tried repairing it, but it's beyond me... once it warms up, it goes crazy on/off eject/close... I have another 1.0 motherboard and figured I could use that as a replacement, then cross the HDD Key when I got there. So I followed the pinout of the original motherboard and replicated its connections, installed the new motherboard in the original's case and sure enough, Code 6... So I softmodded the new mobo with its original HDD with the Rocky setup and null'd the hard drive. I swapped the HDD back to my original and still no good... I've read that hard-modded xboxes are capable of working better with non-locking HDDs, so I'm hoping there's something I can do to get this new motherboard communicating with my original hard drive. I really would like to keep the content that we have on there. Is there any hope? Thanks in advance!
  13. Hey guys, made an instruction for the "Analog2HDMI" mod from Electron Shepherd LLC. 1. Remove AVIP Socket from your Mainboard: 2. Modify AVIP Socket: 3. Add Analog2HDMI to AVIP Socket, make sure to flip Analog2HDMI otherwise you might have problems with the Mainboard. 4. Use hot glue to attach Analog2HDMI and AVIP Socket, just leave the space for the wires between Mod and Mainboard. 5. Solder your Mod to the Mainboard, use this digram: IMPORTANT: Use all the Ground (GND) i use! Add an extra wire (GND) between HDMI Socket of Analog2HDMI and Mainboard if the RF shielding doen't touch the HDMI Socket, otherwise you will most likely get image error. 6. Congratulations to your new HDMI mod! Hope you can work with this!
  14. For some reason when I turn on the Xbox I am greeted with the error code 05 (unlocked hard drive). But I thought an unlocked hard drive was usable with a mod chip installed? - Re-soldered the wires from the D0 point, BT point mod chip flashed red, BT is joined to the mod chip so it is always on. Despite all of this the Xbox boots up displaying the error code 05. and no sign of the chip working its magic. Thanks, Pez.
  15. I have a hard modded console with a 1TB HDD that I would like to swap into a softmodded console that has a 500gb and vice versa. I know that something has to be done with the HDD keys but I dont know the exact details and don't want to mess anything up. Both systems have config magic currently installed. The reason I want to do a simple swap is because I have recently backed up all my games to the 1TB and really don't want to have to go through the hassle of cloning with chimp and then backing them all up again, so if someone is able to give me a quick step by step on what I need to do with both console it would be really appreciated?
  16. Anyone know if there's a way to use ogx360 to power on/off the Xbox using this? Would be a really nice quality of life upgrade to the OG
  17. I made a modded version (details soon) of the Xecuter 3 bios to theoretically boot on all chips (it was tested on a 1.0/1.1 TSOP, SmartXX and Xenium chip). It is 1024k bios so you can't flash it on a 1.2-1.4 tsop. (Config Live won't work because most if not all except x3 chips don't have a dedicated EEPRom) Warning: This modded version hasn't been tested on every modchip so don't try to flash it, if you have no way to recover as it might could brick your chip. Download: https://goo.gl/bJy9g1 Thanks to xbox7887 for testing it on his Xenium Box and 1.0/1.1 TSOP. (Basically just a repost from my Reddit post)
  18. Aplogies for the noobness here My xbox will not load unleashx on the new hd often. it either takes along time to load or fails. it does not load evox in corner also. Xbox ntsc-j 1.0 2 tb WD Green aladian xt2 hard mod instal issues. - doesn not load evox in conrer anymore after bios flash - boot looping, freezing, not loading into unleash, going into red green flash after 3 boot attempts. -if loads, often after a reboot will decide to 'take a break' boot loop into flashing lights, black screen. -no EVOX logo with or without hd anymore ( this makes me think its a bios issue) -loading hexen to install xmbc or try reflash bios is always unsuccessful. -can load ogxbox just unsure what to instal. Previous notes , install and before issues: -Removed capacitor, installed chip, directed d0 to wrong point (plese see pic) still successfully launched EVOX. -would not load hexen or new hd. redirected the d0 to proper point then had boot problems. starting logo would freeze. -Reflowed aladdin pin headers. -changed wiring back (picture - d0 point to ledhd - i did not clearly understand pdf install guide) hexen loaded. -freezed once. flashed bios 480p an d couldnt get logo screen. reverted back. could load new hdd. -installed ntsc package and got error on 'nodvd' (forgot this part kind of), still loaded into partioner. -partioned hd using 947-1 method (2tbhd) rebooted but froze. -reloaded hexen, reinstalled ntsc p[ackage succefully with no errors. -reformated drives again with 946 +1 method. -rebooted and got power boot loops and no evox logo. -also got the issue LBA48 bios issues when checking reformat drives. however drives are formatted. Thought it maybe hd issues or power issue or ide/sata issues but havetested with nad without hd and get same result. unless i leave the xbox to rest it wont reboot. I can get into a succeful unleshx dash with hd partioned. it just doesnt run smooth or seem right. Plesea see pics. Ive burnt ogxbox disc to try and instal bios but unsure which one honestly. but this randomly loads . I have a feeling ive done something to the modchip. iread that the bios on hexen for the chip was junk but have no idea how to instal a new bios now. I hope someone can help https://imgur.com/JB1rbXv https://imgur.com/eTbE2sJ https://imgur.com/P4YXvm5 https://imgur.com/piCzr6M
  19. I am disappointed with the fan mods for the Original Xbox. I tried a 60mm Noctua Fan and then an 80MM Noctua, but no matter what i do. I cannot increase the speed of the fan. The fan just stays at the same speed settings even during gameplay. And was wondering if i can increase the speed of the Noctua since they are better, quieter fans capable of pushing out more air. I tried increasing the speed through the settings and through the config settings. But it still doesn’t make a difference. My Xbox has an Open Xenium modchip with Unleash X. Did i miss something? Do i need a special adapter?
  20. I chip modded my Xbox 20 years ago when I was in college. Not sure the type of chip but I can find out if need be. Evolution X executor rox my box load screen. Fast forward and now I have 4 kids who have resurrected the Xbox, ages 4-11. I suspect one of the kids messed up the bios but I really don't know. One day, the kids can't get into system utilities anymore and load games. Here is the screen it boots to. Not sure where to go from here to get the machine working but I can follow directions and my 11YO is as nerdy as I used to be, so I'm hoping all is not lost. Any guidance appreciated.

Selling a unique system to a new owner, I put together a great console with unique installed custom parts with a stealth switch to choose between empowering a lighted display or a dark environment while gaming. This console is carrying an Xecuter 3 signature mixed with XCM's fitted 3x hard drive bay module which allows you to switch between 3 different hard drives which contains three different dashboards. On the primary dashboard running UnleashX is themed with my signature advanced new age dynamic themes that I personally created and only available to valued supporters. XCM IDE cable cannot be removed from Hard Drives(will result in damage to the IDE cable) IceBerq 4 Pros are fans noisy (due to age) FYI: If console fails to boot on arrival means the pin from the Xapt3r has fallen out, the bank select button was switched in transfer or chip has come loose (you can still access the inside). Keep in mind when taking the console apart or modifying it by any means do not remove IDE cables from the hard drives, they're basically plugged in permanently. I like to keep customers up to date to know what they are buying if you have any questions please ask. Selling as is.
  22. Are there any issues/conflicts I need to be aware of when tsoping my xbox? Ive been running a soft mod for a week or so and have a sata 500gb HDD locked with apps, games and of course a dash, XBMC4gamers. If so I can always put the original HDD in to tsop it that way but then am I good to go with putting the 500gb back and just straight booting? OR, do I need to reinstall everything? Any specific bios reccomendations? I will be using the drive as well as the HDD and on 1.4 I think. Certainly not 1.6
  23. Hello, I recently bought a used OG that was modified by its pervious owner. It appears to be a soft mod. The Xbox first boots into the stock MS dash, but with the "Xbox Live" tab replaced with "Phoenix" Selecting it boots into the UnleashX dash. I like this setup since I think the stock dash is cool, and has a better game saves system than any of the dash big replacements. However, when I first tested it out it was fragging, and the HDD (which was replaced at some point via chimp with a 128gb one) seems to be in poor shape based on the sounds it was making. I am considering on giving it a tsop flash for the sake of keeping it alive, but It would be cool if I could keep the dash replacement. Any info on this "Phoenix" softmod and its viability as a hardmod dash replacement would be great.
  24. Hi all im a newbie to your forum and to og xbox homebrew. i recently purchased one of those 2tb modded og xbox from ebay that was already setup. im not a newbie to the homebrew scene just to og xbox i went to use the download tool in the xbmc i wanted to download some homebrew games like half life ect. every time i go to download something i get an error message asking me for a default xde file. im confused by this as i have searched all my directories and cant find anything. i have tried to google this issue and i cant find anything about it. the only results i get are for kodi?? i know its probably a really simple issue and a easy fix but im so new to the platform im not really sure where to start. as the xbox was not modded by me i do not know what files are on there or what is required to download software from the download utility. any help on this would be awesome. thank you all very much :)
  25. So i kind of excited to finally have it and want to ask if there is anything else i need to get this running. i have the little board for my xbox so in theory i should be good to go but i wanna make sure i ask those more experienced then me so i don't mess up.
