  1. Hello, New member here. Modded a couple xboxes back between 2014 and 2016. Just got a new v1.6 and things seem to have changed. I never knew but RIP to theisozone. Glad to be here
  2. Hey team and thanks for letting me join. I am a basically a newbie when it comes to anything mod related but have many years of background in telecommunications and networking. I had an xbox many years ago, but I eventually traded it for who knows what. I worked with a guy that hard modded them (this was probably circa 2006 or so) but he asked a hefty price to do so and I was young and broke. Flash forward to today and I found a near perfect condition OG at a thrift store. I am working on slowly taking it apart and learning as much as I can. I think it is a version 1.0 maybe 1.1 as it has the original gpu fan still. It also seems to keep time and the caps all look pretty good to me. I tend on replacing them anyway just to be safe, but need to practice soldering first. Looking forward to asking questions and learning what I can. I hope I can also bring some knowledge and skills to the table to help other people. Here are a few pics I've taken so far.
  3. Greetings! well, I stumbled here probably like most else looking for info on modding these days.. It's been so long since I had an original Xbox...the first one was a special Halo edition that I gave to the kid after they read the book "Ruskka". I don't even remember how many years ago that was.. Recently got 3 original Xbox, in various states of function...mostly it looks like the rubber band on the drive broke or no fan spin, so, they got stashed. Planning on putting in a OpenXenium mod chip and upgrading the HDD's so a few friends can play original Halo and TD4: Eve of Destruction... We'll see how all that goes, At any rate, glad to see the original XBox has a fan base, and a place to go when I screw something up soon
  4. Hello everyone. I wouldn't call myself new to the scene, more renewed. I used to mod the OG XBOX back in the day and then just moved on eventually. I've gotten nostalgic and have now pulled out my old XBOX consoled (Like 4 of them). They are in various stages of being modded. One has an old Xecuter chip, 2 are soft modded (one with larger HDD), and the other is a v1.6 I just picked up from Goodwill. I'm beginning the process of going through each of these and restoring to their former glory. However, I now realize, I've forgotten more than I remember on these. So...I'm here to absorb and hopefully not ask too many stupid questions.
  5. Hello Just dropping by to say hi and let you know i am a N00B here.
  6. Hi, I've owned a couple of OG Xbox's, one was a Friendtech Modded one with all the bell's and whistles, the other was a stock Xbox that I eventually soft modded. Unfortunately my Friendtech Xbox was stolen during a house burglary by some near do well nefarious SOB's, but they left my Soft Modded Xbox for some reason. Recently after watching some youtube videos explaining tsop flashing I decided to give it a go. I identified my XBOX as a V1.4 with a winbond tsop. I removed the battery capacitor as suggested but am still struggling bridging my R7D1 and R7D10, I thought I had it but the flashing failed. (The damn things are so tiny!). Anyways I'm going to have another go with the soldering iron, maybe try using a bit of wire to bridge the pads. Anyways, thanks for having me
  7. Hello Everyone. Hi I'm an Old Gamer, have built PC's for a couple of decades and am now about to dabble in the fun art of modding Xbox's.! I see great information here and helpful people, looking forward to this journey.
  8. Hello everyone. I've recently bought a pile of old xboxes and tsop flashed a v1.0. i've just finished installing a 500gb sata hard drive and i'm on the lookout for skins and stuff to make it look l33t.
