Hi - I have a 250GB IDE hard drive with Coin Ops 8 Massive on it along with a few of my games backed up to the hard drive using dvd2xbox. I also have a few other emulators - NES, SNES and Sega Megadrive. This is the perfect setup for me and I don't really need to add anything else to it. Is it possible to add the xbox origins dashboard to my current setup and if so does anyone have a link or details on how to do it? Any help greatly appreciated.

I have 2 XBOXes v1.2 and v1.6 with Rocky5 softmod v1.1.6. I was messing around with the NKPatcher and nulled the HDD drive key on one of them before backing up the EEPROM and now it boots up to error 05. It seems I need to format it using the hotswap method, xboxhdm v1.9 and a backup of the Dashboard from the C partition, which I don't have. Can I use the files from the other XBOX? EDIT: I'm probably looking at it fro the wrong angle... when using the hotswap, won't I get access to the backed up EEPROM in the E partition? Can it be used to restore the HDD?Or is it better to just format it and start from scratch? This subject is still pretty new to me.

So I have UnleashX, and have noticed that under Xbox Info under the Systems Settings menu, the console language is set to Spanish (even though all the UnleashX menus and everything are in English.) I don't have the default xboxdash.xbe on my console, is there another way to change the language to English? I have noticed that a few backups I have tried to play have text and/or audio in Spanish, but I'm not sure if that's just from the game file itself or from my console settings.

I dismantled and washed an xbox and cleaned the motherboard with alcohol tips - the problem is that the motherboard - controller ports - inner plastic parts of dvd drive and hard drive still stink - it’s like a stale cigarette smell any suggestions? Thanks

I'm debating selling this Xbox and I really don't want to be low-balled because I don't know the true value of it, so I was hoping you guys could help me. I know it's an Xecutor 3 Christmas Edition chip with a black pro switch, which I've heard is pretty rare; the 4th bank switch is missing the cover cap but I'm trying to find a replacement for it.

Hi - I have a 500GB SATA drive upgrade complete with Startech SATA to IDE connector and 80 pin IDE cable. However, I still feel my 400 GB IDE xbox loads coin ops games quicker. I bought a new old stock 500GB IDE drive and now I want to clone my SATA drive to my IDE Drive. Is this possible? I could use Chimp or could I use HDM V1.9? I would Prefer to use HDM V1.9 but I'm not sure it would recognise a SATA drive even if it is connected using a Startech SATA to IDE - anyone shed any light on this? Thanks

Hi everybody. From what I can understand there is a difference in how to change the default dashboard to anything you want (If you have a tsop, sofmodded or hardmodded box.) In my case, I have a TSOP modded box and I would like to have xbmc4gamers or xbmc emustation as my startup dash. What should I do here? I have read somewhere that I should make a shortcut in a program on my computer to redirect it to where I have the dashfile. Please feel free to fill in the blanks for me to understand this matter better. / David

Hi, I have XBMC running as my main dash. In the UnleashX dash which I can load to from the file explorer, there is a XBMC heading that doesn't work, to get it to load XBMC do I just load a XBMC xbe and cfg to the C or E partition? Thanks in advance. G

I quess the title says it all. Could someone in simple english tell me how to install xbox skins. I download Kaosengneer 10 skins and can't get them to work. I made a folder names Skins on my E drive FTP'd them in there but they don't show up. Thanks

Hello It has been a while since I've messed around with Ninja and was wondering since I have a drive thats split into two 70 gig parts f &g how do I get lets say a folder with games in it to show in Ninja? So lets say I put everything in F drive but some games didn't fit how do I make those show in ninja? I saw no option to "scan" folders.... Thanks !!!

Now go into the systems panel and go to sound, click yes to deactivate whatever is running, this will make sound work, it seems it doesn't work by default. open firefox and download https://archive.org/details/GrimFandangoDemo go into the file manager, rename .exe to zip and unpack, right click on grim demo exe and pick run with wine. Simple as pie, most games will not run using this wine method cause the wine in Xdsl is ancient and there doesn't seem to be any 3d acceleration in wine (maybe somebody can port the latest wine to xdsl?) so grim runs i think in some sort of 3d software mode, but it's full speed. You will need to solder usb ports to your fourth joystick port to use a keyboard/mouse to play grim fandango (thats what I did aeon ago) or buy a joystick2keyboardmouse adapter.

I already know how to use the tools to softmod. But where can I learn about how the game exploits are used to softmod, from a technical point of view? Like with Splinter Cell, you load up a bad save, there's a buffer overrun somewhere, jumps to some arbitrary code that XXXX? I assume the exploit code installs a new dashboard and everything, but doesn't Xbox also do a signature check to make sure that the code is signed before allowing it to run?

Every game run on this emu suffers from screen tearing. The only way that I found to circumvent this issue is to go into: Configuration -> Video Configuration -> Other Video Configurations -> Xbox Hardware Filtering and change it to Bilinear Filtering, but the image is too soft for my liking. By default, it is set to Point Filtering, and software filter: None Any alternatives?

I successfully cloned my 100GB Maxtor to a Seagate 1TB drive using CHIMP. All my data, games, skins, etc were intact on the new drive. Then I went to use CHIMP to extend my partitions on my master drive (the Seagate) so it would recognize all 1TB but much to my chagrin when I rebooted I seemed to lose everything, including my skins, my emulators, and my Xbox games (there were about 100GB worth). The menu shows the categories and a barebones UnleashX skin but nothing inside them. How do I extend my partitions on my cloned drive so I get the full 1TB without losing my current UnleashX setup?

I've seen several UnleashX skins show the game picture/icon next to the name of the game. But they don't show up with any of the games i've put on the hdd. Am I missing something in the game folder itself or a setting I need to modify in UnleashX? Any help would be appreciated.

Therefore, I searched and managed to find out from the post http://www.emuxtras.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=3228&start=20, about using the amazing console app "cdrom_modchip" to load the ISO file. It works greatly without needing to config or code anything., except having to run/load the patcher every time after the xbox restart. Does anyone have any idea how to load the patcher.xbe automatically when the DASH started. From the post above, it was mentioned about configing the IND_Bios.cfg ( the order of DASH1, DASH2, DASH3 etc). But I don't like ind_bios, as I feel M8 bios is much clean and faster. . Hi all, My trusty old XBox has stopped powering up (no lights or drive activity, nothing). I have opened it up to check for leaking caps. It is a 1.0 or 1.1 version, so I checked the clock capacitor which had indeed leaked so I removed it and cleaned the pcb but still no joy. Then I started testing the FoxLink PSU. The socket soldering looks ok and I found that at least the 1st coil has tension, but when measuring the pins on the mobo connector there is nothing (I also measured the Power OK and Power ON pins). I can’t see any visual damage on the PSU. Can I conclude that this PSU is dead or is this normal?

Hi guys I have a softmodded xbox and would like to create a backup hard drive in case the softmodded drive in the console takes a dump! I know that the xbox hard drive is nulled! I also ftp'd the E:\ folder wich contains the eeprom.bin file to my pc for backup. Can I just ftp all the folders in the xbox hard drive to my pc to create a backup of entire drive? (I use filzilla to ftp files)

Is there a way to set up a soft-mod so that the Xbox boots directly to the game directory?
