So I just finished another successful TSOP flash on a v1.1 and wishing I had spent more time focusing on that vs. having to repair numerous LPC ports from teaching myself to solder. Oh well, I digress… Since I’m fairly new to flashing bios’s (Xbox) I’ve been reading up on which bios is best for my needs as well as the method of flashing. Since I’m pretty old school I was always taught the importance of having a good boot up disc (ie. Hexen) laying around. Kinda fancy since I grew up thinking we’d be booting everything off floppy disks forever! The more I’ve read I’m finding that maybe Hexen isn’t the most impervious or bulletproof solution out there. It would appear that the Hexen-based bios’s could be tainted in a sense (as well as limited in variety). Can someone verify if I’m understanding this correctly? I hear those particular bios files have been pre-configured and therefore not the best choice to flash and replace the old soft mod. I’m of the impression that the most bulletproof method would be hooking up the hard drive to my computer and/or FTP’ing the OGXbox Installer onto it. Anyone? Lastly, please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m thinking that it would be silly to use any of these older BIOS’s without any LBA support. I’d like to utilize one of the newer (but not entirely necessary) Titan or Cerbios revisions available. I’d love to hear what you guys have to say about this. Thanks in advance for your feedback ✌

I hope someone can help, I am very new to this. I found my original xbox in the loft, when I boot it loads showing EvoX (pink logo) in the top left corner. It then seems to boot open the original dash. I heard the PAL system was locked so you couldn't access the HD scaling. Is there anything I can do to unlock the 720p / 1080i features to get better visuals on my 4k TV? I found a forum saying I could use a DVD and burn HeXEn bios onto it or something then run that in the Xbox to unlock the features? But when I tried to burn this to a DVD-RW it would not let me on my PC? Sorry, I know you probably get this a lot from newbies! Cheers.

Hi, All Xbox Mod Experts Currently the SpiderChip on my Xbox v1.1 doesn't work very stable (likely because of its solderless type). Hence, I am planning to TSOP with X2 5035. However, my Xbox's DVD is faulty and unable to read any CD/DVD (including original DVD). So I think I have to flash TSOP from HDD. All the tutorial I managed to find is to use HeXEn DVD. However, I noticed that in HeXEn TSOP tutorial, if the Xbox has WinBond TSOP, it will load and flash via Gentoox, For non-WinBond, it will flash through normal EvoxDashboard. Thus, for my Xbox (v1.1) with faulty DVDROM, instead of HeXEn DVD, can I flash the TSOP directly through either Evox Dashboard or Gentoox? and if it is possible, which method would be more safe and successful ?
