I have heard in order to upgrade your xbox original hard drive from the original to a 121gb or more you need a special bios. I am clueless on this topic any help would be appreciated. Also if you couldn't tell already my xbox is hardmodded. Any help would be appreciated!!

Hello,i know that i am boring with these questions but i dont know anything about og xbox softmodding.Anyways,i am trying to softmod xbox with ide to sata adapter.I tried different methods but it was just failure.Then i realized that my drive was locked.I tried 3 methods for hot swaping so far and none of those methods work.I have msi a320m-pro with amd athlon 240 ge.My xbox is 1.6 revision with 10gb segate drive ST310014ACE.I also tried using xboxhdm,burned the cd,puted it in the dvd drive,but when i went to type xbrowse it said cd couldnt be found.Xbox hdd shows in windows disk management as non initialized.

Hello, I am writing this today to see about getting some help with my 1.6 Xbox and the Xeceuter 2.6 CE installed in it. I recently did this motherboard mod involving a resistor to extend the life of the board and the board works fine after the install. This is also where I managed to find an issue. With the mod chip enabled, both banks load up their respective bioses, but when I disable the mod chip using the front panel switch, the console Frags after 3 tries. When I disconnect the LFrame wire from the mod chip, the console boots up like normal to the stock dash using the stock bios. Before the mod though, disabling the mod chip using the front panel switch worked liked normal. So now I am a point where I made a modification to extend the life of the console, but lost some functionality in my mod chip at the same time. I am wondering if anybody knows what would cause the issue I described and if anybody else has ever run into similar issues. Though I know most don't tend to mod 1.6 consoles if the can avoid it. I'm also curious if anybody else happens to have an Xbox motherboard that is warped around the CPU and GPU area. By warped, I mean that I can see a curve in the motherboard around that area. Okay, so I really messed up. I recently got back two 1.6 Xboxes that I haven't had for ages, immediately set out to soft mod them. Looked up and used the Rocky5 kit, worked perfectly, got the first one up fine. But then when I went to FTP some files to it and noticed the Partitions were setup in a way that my file wouldn't fit. Found a partitioning tool called Xbpartitioner 1.3b or something like that, and without doing any research I transferred it to the Xbox to resize the HDD partition. This erased the Rocky5 dashboard and put up an UnleashedX dashboard. I hadn't access to DVDs, so wanted to install the Rocky5 Extra Disc to the Xbox and run it from there. Found some type of program that claimed to mount and run the Extras Disc, performed the upgrade, Xbox came back to an error message. (Error Message 13). Some Googling says that this appears to happen when the dashboard can't be loaded. I softmodded the other Xbox successfully using the same Rocky5 setup and it's working fine. I was hoping to clone the working Xbox drive over to bricked one, but Chimp is listing the drive as locked and I can't access the EEPROM key. I believe the Rocky5 mod backs up to the HDD in the E:\ Directory, but I also believe the partition may have erased it? I went out, got some DVDs and burned the Extras Disc. It doesn't run in the Bricked Xbox, but loads up fine in the new one. The bricked HDD no longer contains the Exploited Savegames I used to initiate the softmod. I can load Retail games, but booting the dashboard leads to the error message (Error 13). Also saw suggestions to insert an Xbox Live game like Halo 2. This did not work either, the game simply reloaded instead of returning to the Dashboard. So basically what can I do here? Should I be looking to get an IDE to USB converter, so that I can copy the Exploited Savegames onto the HDD and re-load the Softmod? Should I be trying to get the EEPROM backup of the E:\ Drive, assuming it wasn't formatted? Is there something else I can do? I've done lots of searching and haven't found anyone else as stupid as me.

i have an original xenium chip 2nd gen (the beige one you can add an lcd ) i havent touched my xbox in years and i added a it with a solder less adapter . when i boot my xbox it blinks 3 times and shuts off , i moved it to my second xbox and it just stays on red ,never turning green . I flipped the switch but i dont remember what it does, but that didnt help either .i hard solder the pins and solder a wire to the d0 on the chip and then tried to plug into the hold but doesnt seem to fit . does anyone have a guide or have any insight what my be wrong ,its been at least 10 years i have actually tired to boot my xbox and im trying to fix it ..i was thinking may i need to re-flash the chip but i dont remember how i even did it the 1st time .. any trouble shooting guide one be muched apperciated

I recently installed Rocky5’s xbmc emustation & so far it’s been great. So far I have Genesis, NES, SNES & PlayStation roms installed and I have absolutely no issues with those systems. However my main issues that I cant seem to understand is getting other emulators to work. I’m a huge fan of fighting games like MVC2 and ultimately this project isn’t complete until I can get those games on there. I recently found out that there is a downloads section that allows me to download emulators straight to the xbox and that was such a relief because I’ve struggled to add emulators manually. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong when I add emulators manually but they just don’t seem to work. I can definitely live with this if I can get my main fighting games in there. my friend gave me a few cps roms but I’m not sure how to get them to work in the emustation. I know I sound super noob so bare with me! Lol

raduci in Inglese Morning, boys. A friend flashed Atr the bios at an xbox 1.6 with aladdin xt and hdd 160 gb. He put a bios for 1.0-1.5 instead of a bios for xbox 1.6. Now the xbox gives error 5 always. Can I fix it?

Hi everyone. New to the forum here. First I'd like to say thank you to the community for keeping such an awesome gaming device alive! It was my first step into modding and I've been addicted since haha. Anyway... I'm looking for a rom pack with/without emulators that is setup specifically for a stock 8gb HDD softmodded xbox, to be used with FTP or from a disc. I've run into some issues with transferring files via FTP. One has to do with the naming limit, and another is an error I can't figure out. But of the SNES library only, there are about 170 games that won't transfer. So I was looking for a pre-made pack of adjusted names and such that my xbox would take without issues. Not sure if one exists or not. It's a project that would consume a huge amount of my time which is why I'm asking for help. Even if there is a way to batch-rename them, that would work also. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi All, I need your help to identify my mod chip, i purchased this Original xbox and unable to find any information as to what mod chip it is or even what Bios it is using. I have tried to use the Hexen DVD to try Flash the Bios with the EvoX but none of the bios's i tried worked, it came back with drive ID error and unable to flash blue screen. Not sure if i am flashing it with correct Bios or not or if i have to manually put the Bios.bin files into the xbox itself via FTP ? My xbox is 1.6 version, can anyone please help to identify the chip installed ? and what Bios i can use or how to go about it if i cant do it with the Hexen DVD. I even tried Bios checker but it gives MD5 hash info without any chip information. It currently runs on the Evolution Dashboard however when booting up the xbox it has a custom logo on top left that appears was flashed with a custom bios. please see my image attached of the Mod Chip.

Evening all I’m rather late to the party 15years at a wild guess! A simple loft clear out and low and behold my 1.1 from when I was a child came out of its box! No leakage from the clock capacitor which I couldn’t believe!! I have just completed a clock capacitor removal and Tsop all successful just thought I’d pop in and say hi!

How can I dlt my pictures in order to make room for other images? I understand I must go to manage attachments, but where do I go to dlt the media after that, I keep looking around under my attachments but I cant find an option to dlt anything ?? thanks in advance!

I have 2 XBOXes v1.2 and v1.6 with Rocky5 softmod v1.1.6. I was messing around with the NKPatcher and nulled the HDD drive key on one of them before backing up the EEPROM and now it boots up to error 05. It seems I need to format it using the hotswap method, xboxhdm v1.9 and a backup of the Dashboard from the C partition, which I don't have. Can I use the files from the other XBOX? EDIT: I'm probably looking at it fro the wrong angle... when using the hotswap, won't I get access to the backed up EEPROM in the E partition? Can it be used to restore the HDD?Or is it better to just format it and start from scratch? This subject is still pretty new to me.

Hey I was here about 8 months ago when I first got my modded flash xx chipped xbox. I installed a 500gb Hdd and it shows it as only 120gb any response would be appreciated, thanks!

So thats the thing, I just got my first original Xbox! I live in Chile and in here having something like this is very niche hehehe. Nevermind, I opened it, cleaned it, changed the thermal paste, replace the IDE cable for a 40 cable and bought a new controller, because it came with the controllers smashed. There is no modchip on it, because when I opened it up, I saw absolutely nothing. It has a 360 looking dashboard called XBMC360, according to the hardware info, it is a v1.6 Xbox, it has an Xcalibur video decoder, CPU runs at 731.55mhz. Detected retail BIOS is: 5838.01 Made in China, year 2005, week 25, line 5. XBMC pre-2.1 (compiled: May 27 2007) Mplayer XBMC-SVN-r8532 (May 25 2007) I am not asking to give a me tutorial on how to install another HDD (which I will as it has a 40GB Maxtor) I just one to know the basics you know? Why so many partitions on the HDD? What is the main software that runs a modded Xbox? What is a skin? That is it! The rest I will try to find on my own, I just want to know the "basics". So i got everything installed and i get the xbox trying to boot 3x (i can see the fan on the gpu spinning) then it flashes red/green and no more fan spinning on gpu but it sounds like my hdd is still going. No picture at any point. I had alot of issues with soldering the D0 point and if im being honest i dont know if its soldered to a proper ground or not i put it to one of the bigger square pads on the motherboard. Also when soldering the D0 point i coudnt get any solder to stay and i couldn't really even see the point anymore so i went above it to another point and scraped off some of the solder mask that was on it and soldered there instead, i was hoping that since it was on the same trace it would work the same but i doubt it works like that. Hi i messed my xbox up by deleting files off the c drive and to cut a long story short ive managed to get it running again using the hexen disc, i want to boot into XBMC4GAMERS which i have on my E drive, trouble is there is no default.xbe on my c drive? there is just a IND bios config which says the following DASH1=\Device\Harddisk0\Partition2\evoxdash.xbe DASH2=\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1\Dash\UnleashX\unleashx.xbe DASH3=\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1\Dash\EvolutionX\evoxdash.xbe DEFAULTXBE=\Device\CdRom0\default.xbe not sure why it says default xbe in cd rom because i have removed the Hexen disc? any help would be appreciated.

I'm debating selling this Xbox and I really don't want to be low-balled because I don't know the true value of it, so I was hoping you guys could help me. I know it's an Xecutor 3 Christmas Edition chip with a black pro switch, which I've heard is pretty rare; the 4th bank switch is missing the cover cap but I'm trying to find a replacement for it.

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read my post,requesting urgent help with regards my.Xecuter X2.6CE modchip. As you can see in the photo i've uploaded.The red 5v socket is damaged (it was like this when i was given the chip,many years ago with the front switch board and chip to switch board cable BUT their wasn't the red 5v wire included).The socket's plastic has been damaged and it's missing it's 2 tiny pins.The 2 solder pads are still there though and i have tried soldering on a peice of wire to go from the solder pad on the chip to the 5v point on my V1.6 Xbox. No luck what so ever,even though i have tried the wire on both pads (one by one and not bridged together of course) When i power up my console,it will quickly power on then switch off,then again quickly switch on,then switch off.It does this 3 times then it'll stay on with a black screen and the front RF boards LED's flashing from red to green,red to green (Fragging i think it's known as) Please can anyone help me as to where i need to solder the piece of wire on the chip so i can use the chip in my V1.6 Xbox ? Hello It has been a while since I've messed around with Ninja and was wondering since I have a drive thats split into two 70 gig parts f &g how do I get lets say a folder with games in it to show in Ninja? So lets say I put everything in F drive but some games didn't fit how do I make those show in ninja? I saw no option to "scan" folders.... Thanks !!!

So i recently bought these two controllers from a man in singapore, he said he used to work for microsoft back in the day and even recieved a launch team edition xbox for working there. I saw he had these two controllers and decided to buy them. I would like help in identifying what they are and if they are prototype controllers or rare unreleased versions. I dont believe they are custom controllers though given the stickers on the back.
