Hi - I have an unlocked SATA 500GB xbox drive that is nearly full with games, emulators and the like. I want to make a backup copy of the drive using Raw Copy - any advice or instructions on how to do this? I have a PC with a spare HDD slot and and an external drive caddy. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am attempting to play my Greg Hastings backup from my storage and am getting a black screen. I understand there is a fix for this, but am unable to locate it. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction? TIA!

I've copied the files from the Halo 2 disc to my chipped xbox via ftp. When starting the game there's no menu text (as if the font is missing). Selecting menu options at random starts the intro movie, which runs for a bit then crashes. The files are verified extracted and copied ok. Lots of other games transferred exactly the same way are working fine. It is a v1.6 with an xecuter 2 chip. I tried to run the ACL from dvd2xbox on the installed folder, but that seemed to hang and hadn't completed after 10 hours. There isn't a specific acl for Halo 2 installed as far as I xcan tell, so it is running the default one. Any suggestions? Thanks

Dear All, As you all know, FTP big chunks of data takes forever on a 10mb limit, however was looking for alternatives, there's those SATA to USB adpaters, which you can connect directly the HDD to your PC and have up to 60mb second on a USB 3.0, btw I'm using a 2.5 inch HDD Is there any program that can access the HDD FATX system and copy directly to it via PC, I heard of an app namely USBXTAFGUI_V45, also heard of XBOX360Explorer, is any solution for this? I have hips of gigs on my HDD and don't want to wait forever on FTP on 10 megs when I can have it for at least 30 to 60 hopefully. My HDD is unlocked obviously or else it would be harder. Thanks

I swapped in a 1TB drive and an 80 pin cable into my unit. I went and formatted the new disk with the Hexen 2018 CD, and setup the Xbpartitioner with the extended partition at 948 GB in 64k clusters. So the space free for F shows 948 GB until I reboot into Unleashx. Then it becomes around 123 GB free. If I go into the menu and restart Hexen, it boots up and shows the correct free space. What gives? I have r reformatted several times

Hello, ive just done HDD upgrade using this tutorial and xbox only see 120gb out of 500gb from my new hdd, what is wrong? funny enough HeXEn shows me the proper status of 450gb+ free space on F drive, the same with Xpartitioner (but only when im using this app from HeXEn disc). When im entering Xpartitioner on dashboard then i got Warning ... "!!!! WARNING !!!!! LB448 info not found! Custom Partitions will not work with this BIOS! Well, this question goes to those of you who have done this before. I recently got a TSOP'ed v1.2 xbox with ind bios 5004, 128 mb ram, 1ghz and 160 gb hdd. I also have a chipped v1.6 xbox with 2TB hdd (segate barracuda 7200 rpm) - and i made a clone of this 2TB to put into my TSOP box. I checked that the 2TB cloned hdd (seagate barracuda 5400 rpm) worked fine in my chipped xbox. And it did. Then i took the TSOP xbox, installed a 80 ribbon cable with a startech ide2sat2 adapter (jumper pins to master) and connected my new cloned hdd. [EDIT:] I start it and it a black screen with the letters "ind bios" appear.. i hear the hdd spin up twice... and nothing happens.. then i press eject button twice and the white ind bios splash screen appears, from here it takes some 10-20 seconds until dashboard appears. [/EDIT] On my chipped xbox it takes 10 seconds. What can i do to speed up the boot process ? RUn EVtools on indbios ?

So I will try upgrading my HDD in a few months (start of june) For the record my xbox is a hardmodded one and I don't know too much what is in it but will investigate further before doing the hdd swap, and also try to update to latest bios / dash / everything before doing the actual updgrade. In the meantime I want to buy the three things I need, but as I am french, I need to find them on the french amazon, otherwise I will pay too much transportation and duty fees. So I will receive the components needed this week or the one after. This is a hardmodded xbox and I will try to swap a 130 Gb to a 2To one. Meanwhile I've been studying Chimp usage base on the latest video by Rocky5 but they are some things which are not clear to me. - Is it better to use cable select or slave for the new hdd ? - Cocky references a 4s period to swap ide cable from dvd to new hdd, is it a real thing ? - Swapping cable before launching chimp right ? - First option shown at 10'35 'Select from menu' shoudl be the first one FatX right ? - Clone from master to slave with a 2TB slave : I want to have F and G both of 950Go size approximatively so I should choose (around 12'19) option 1 C & E and then on the following screen choose 4 'F and G split space evenly' or 5 'Custom F size, G gets the rest' ? - As i am on hardmod or tsop do i need to lock the slave after as show near 16'43 or is it not necessary ? I am asking because I seem to remember that in the options of my system the current HDD is shown as not locked

I have an old softmodded Xbox with a 2TB hard drive that is loaded. I just ordered a new Xbox that I will be softmodding. How do I move my 2TB hard drive from the old Xbox to the new one? (I want to keep everything that's on the 2TB hard drive) Please keep it simple. I'm new to this whole modding thing. Detailed step by step would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone, i recently softmodded my 1.4 original Xbox and added a 3TB HDD, however I am not sure I have all the space I was supposed to get. I understand Xbox should only recognize about 2.3-2.5TB however I am not seeing all of my space showing up. Furthermore, there’s several smaller partitions. Can I expand my existing partitions, what is the best way to get the most space out of my current set up? I could redo the whole process if needed. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks !

I can’t seem to find a clear answer anywhere. Do I remove the jumper pin from the sata HDD since the sata/ide adaptor has its own jumper pin selections? I just need to know the configuration so I can clone it using chimp. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

having hasslez trying to clone my1.5tbbase img from my main console to the rest in my collection with out using ftp (kids be on the net all the f#×king time) any help would be great. do i use chimp,hdd raw copy ,clone via dock,swear at it ?

Hi, Just fired up my xbox after being sat there for many months. It made a pop type sound and after 10 minutes of play started to make a beeping noise with error 7. I've pulled the hdd out and it makes the same beeping noise in an external caddy. I've done a little bit of research and it seems that if I use an old ata hdd (40gb) I can use something called Hexen to build the drive. As I have an xecuter chip I don't need to worry about locking the drive. Can somebody please advise if this is correct? Thank you

I hope this is the correct forum, apologies if not! I'm totally new to xbox modding and have watched videos and read as much as possible, but I've managed to screw up anyway unfortunately. I bought a hardmodded xbox with Xenium chip but stock hdd and so I used Hexen 2018 to install a 320Gb. I followed instructions, used Xb partitioner so that drive f used the rest of the available space etc. Once done and xbox rebooted, I'm only getting 123Gb available space on drive f! I was advised on another forum to redo it from scratch with Slayer's instead. Again once completed, it went back to only 123Gb available. I tried running xb partitioner again, go an error message 'LB48 not found' (I didn't get this error message the first time). I've tried re-doing it from scratch with Hexen 2018 again, same result even when I tried another hhd that's 250Gb, still only getting 123Gb. Any way to fix this, or should I give up and accept only getting 123Gb to use as at least it's still working now but if I mess about with it I may end up bricking it? (I softmodded my daughters xbox last week, that's working no probs. I'm awaiting a 500Gb hdd in the post, that I was planning to use Chimp to clone to and install, but now I'm anxious that I may have the same prob with that one as well!)

I've recently transplanted my failing and old IDE hard drive to a 2tb expansion with new ribbon cable. Also updated Unleash X to latest build. After I finished this I started to play games like Fight Night Round 3 where you cycle through different character bulids and such.. when customizing it looks like my drive is freezing up. I've also noticed that when trying to play emulation front ends like coinops 8 the loading of some of the larger games like Killer Instinct freeze the system as well. Could the corruption of the old drive follow to the new drive? When I did the system transfer the only items I transferred were the eeprom partitions and saves. I was thinking maybe nulling the drive and then reformatting the other partitions might work? But wanted to see if there are any other suggestions. I've also attempted to launch these in xbmc4gamers but this also causes freezing. Not sure if that should be a separate topic or not.

Hiya, just TSOPed my 1.2v Oxbox and put in a 160gb hdd. I split the F & G partitions 74ish gb each. The F partition show 74ish gb but G partion is 0gb. Used HeXEn 18 and the evox M8+ bios F+G, Both F & G values showed in XBpartitioner 1.3.

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes... What's the best way to clone a 2TB SATA Xbox HDD to another 2TB drive? I have an Inateck FD2002 that is a dual SATA USB 3.0 dock, that has an offline cloning feature, but every time I try to clone my 2TB Xbox SATA HDD using the offline cloning feature, I initiate the clone function, then it briefly starts the process, but the dock restarts itself. So now that I have got my new Dashboard running and have my games ready, it's time to start getting the stuff for the HDD swap. I am going to get a StarTech IDE2SAT2 adapter, but I know that the Xbox can be picky with what SATA drives it will work with. I was thinking of going with a WesternDigital Black or SeaGate. but what are the drives that people have the most success with? Also, in regards to size, are 3.5" drives a pain to fit inside the console? Or would it just save a lot of headache going with a 2.5" drive? Also, I'm a little confused on what steps I need to take to get it all set up once I have the HDD and the adapter. Do I need a boot disk as well? And Chimp clones the existing drive while XBPartitioner will format the new drive? Hello OG Xbox Members i am new here and i am here to stay.... However i am in trouble with something right now i recently picked up a MAXTOR PATA133 DIAMOND MAX 10 200GB (IDE HDD) and it seems to be failing when cloning with chimp not sure if i have to reformat the drive and repair the bad sectors but how would i do that using my PC is there a way i can use the IDE cable from the xbox and plug it into my motherboard from my PC and clone my HDD that way any programs out there for such activities Or would it be best for me to buy a IDE to sata connector from ebay and just use the 2TB 3.5" barracuda HDD that i just have laying around not sure if i will even need that much space unless i download the A-Z games list has me thinking thos please any suggestions to help me sway my ideas would be helpful sorry for any mistakes whilst typing Tired moments Kinx Gorilla

Buddy sent me two OG consoles I had modded for him way back in the day. Both are TSOP flashed. Both had leaky battery clock caps, so they were removed and the boards were cleaned up. Both are running Avalaunch. XBOX #1 is a 1.1 with 1MB TSOP so I went ahead and flashed X2 5035 to it(had 4983,06 prior). No issues with this box, made copy of 160GB hdd, swapped IDE HDD for SATA SSD with adapter, formatted disks, copied files back over, updated apps etc. It boots without any issues and behaves normally. XBOX #2 is a 1.4. It has 4983.06 flashed and has a 250GB IDE drive installed. When I got the box it was fragging so I booted EVOX CD and it appeared that the dashboard xbe was gone. Copied it over again via FTP and it booted fine. Everything seemed to be working(games/apps). Tried to make a backup via Avalaunch FTP and after a few files ava would freeze up. Loaded evox and was able to copy files without any issues. Installed 250GB SSD in this xbox, boot my installer disk and format the partitions. Seems to go ok but the partitions still read 0bytes. Boot again off evox installer disk, it shows all partitions as 0bytes but after about 10-20 seconds they start to populate with size. I am able to FTP files to them once they show up. Reboot, still fragging. Ok, so after all of that BS, I bought another box off eBay. It comes softmodded with 160GB drive. Manage to get it TSOP flashed as well and remove the battery capacitor. Try to install several other hard drives, format, and install, see the same exact issue with the pausing and fragging on boot. Install original drive on either of these two and they work fine. I assume this is hardware, more than likely from the leaking capacitors. I plan on pulling the boards and touching up the solder on all of the components that had electrolyte on them as well as doing another inspection, but not sure if anyone has seen this and found a fix.

I recently just softmodded my OG, and installed chimp as well as backed up the EEPROM to my USB. I noticed in settings it has a “HDD Key”, and I’m a bit confused. All I want to do is backup my HDD on my computer, so if I ever need to I can transfer all files to a new HDD air different system. That being said, what’s the next step in order to back up everything and run off my other Xbox should something go wrong?
