About Me

  1. Hello All, I recently put a Seagate 3TB HDD in an original xbox Rev. 1.6 with Xecuter 2.6 modchip. I split the F and G drives evenly and everything installed and worked fine. I just tried the same with an identical hard drive in a xbox Rev. 1.4 with Xecuter 3 CE modchip (X3 3294 Bios) and the G-drive size doesn't display correctly. I used TruHeXEn 2021 DVD-R to format the new drive. I then used XB Partitioner on that same DVD-R to format the F and G again. I pressed "A" until the F and G were even and made sure they were 64k clusters. Formats in XB Partitioner fine and then when I check the hard disk settings while still in TruHeXEn, they both display and show the same expected size. But when I eject the DVD-R and boot off the HDD and check hard disks in dashboards, the G-Drive shows as 0MB and sometimes doesn't display at all. The F works fine though. I tried formating them @ 10 times, same thing. If I FTP in, the F-Drive shows and is writable, but the G-Drive doesn't even display as an option. Any ideas why the G-Drive is not displaying the correct size? Thank you!!!
  2. I am attempting to upgrade my HDD on my hard modded 1.0 but my system won't load truhexen from the DVD. It worked on the original drive so I believe I burned everything well enough but I keep getting error code 13 on the new drive. The cable has been replaced with an 80 pin. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
  3. Hi Guys So I wanted to share what I was recently able to do using xboxhdm23usb. So I softmodded my xbox, then what I did was null my hdd key. After that I backed up my eeprom and dropped it into the xboxhdm23usb folder. I then took out the hdd and connected it to an IDE to usb adapter and then used xboxhdm23usb to unlock the drive. (This was easy because I nulled the key). I then used a program called HDD raw copy tool and was able to make a complete image of the Xbox HDD. I then relocked the drive and put it back in the xbox (Working fine). I then connected up a spare drive and used HDD raw copy tool to clone the image i made back onto the new drive, then used xboxhdm23usb to lock it. I then popped that into the Xbox and it worked as well. I then used xbpartitioner to give the remaining space to the F Drive. The nice thing about this method, is that I now have an image back up of an xbox HDD with a nulled key. So I can easy clone it to a new drive and pop it into any xbox (Provided they nulled the key on that xbox as well). Let me know what you guys think.
  4. I think this belongs here? Since I'm just trying to install XBMC4Gamers. But like the title says, Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc will not boot when I try to boot it from the "Applications" section. I've followed the instructions on how to set up the files correctly, but when I click on XSTED, the screen goes black for a few seconds then it goes right back to the UnleashX dashboard. I thought maybe it's mounting it to the disk drive virtually? But even my disk drive won't boot a disk when there's a disk in it using the "Run CD in drive" button, no matter what's in the drive. I'm kinda at a loss, so I'm coming here for some help. Attached is how I have it setup on the drive. 1.4 that's been TSOP'd, if it matters
  5. I was trying to upgrade my HDD with chimp but end of the sequence I can’t get pass the startup screen (without Microsoft logo). I tried xbhdm both disc and usb but no luck but Iooked at the HDD, C and E files is there but they’re empty. Btw i tried Hexen and og xbox installation discs but again doesn’t worked. I’ll add the board’s picture and you’ll notice that the chip is different and an odd one. I also have HDD’s eeprom. Is this situation salvageable or is it dead? I also have an non-chipped non-softmodded spare one as well. Thanks in advance.
  6. Hi guys i have a problem, i just filled up my new hdd. When the dash loads it shows on f and g 0,0 free and when i go to file explorer it shows nothing in f and g. I put in the hexen disc and in hexen the f and g shows the correct amount of free space and all the games and emulators are appearing in the f and g and i can play the games. The xbox has an old Smartx chip
  7. Hey guys I got lucky recently and scored an Alpha II from an e-waste recycler. Unfortunately the HDD was taken out, I've got a new one in there but I'm not sure if there's any full-recovery available. I found N64 freak's build log so I'm feeling a bit dumb - but I don't think that the full recovery could be only 13MB right? Anyway, I guess what I'm asking is if anyone has any disk images they could share :). Here's some pics from the seller, it has a different front panel(with lots of masking tape residue), but it's definitely real.
  8. So I have as softmodded xbox and a non functioning DVD drive. I have an old pc so I used the Xboxhdm live disc but sadly it takes too long to clone my xbox hdd. any suggestions? keep in mind my xbox dvd drive does not work.
  9. So I was just going to format my hdd for other use then suddenly BAM! xboxhdm hotswapped the drive wiped partition forgot to unlock what now.

    Noob Hdd Dead

Hey guys, I have an old Xbox I'm a noob and don't even know where to start I just want to replace my Hard Drive and have games on said Hard Drive but I do not know how. Can someone please help. I just want to play Halo with friends.
  11. Error 13 after successful hdd clone. 2tb hdd cloned and locked using chimp. Star tech adapter and 80 wire ode cable used for upgrade. What steps do I try to resolve the error? Any help welcomed.
  12. Thank you in advance for any and all help provided, If I unlock the HDD can I then connect the HDD to a enclosure and be able to transfer my HDD backup from my PC to the HDD? Can the PC read/detect unlocked HDD? FTP takes a bit long than I would like to transfer data. Would FATXplorer work in this case?
  13. Hello OG Xbox forums, I've worked myself into a pickle again. The short version: I need to get a file off of an HDD that throws an error 16 (won't boot, Corrupted dash) but still works. Can I get it off using a second Xbox and a file manager, or do I need to buy an adapter and use Xpolorer 360 to get it off? The long Version: While preparing to TSOP flash my Xbox, I was copying saves over from the had drive onto a memory card for safe keeping. However when that didn't work with the UnleashX dash I tried to switch over to the default dash. This corrupted the files and now the Xbox throws an error 16 whenever it tries to boot from the HDD. Since it is an error 16 I can't boot from disc since the Xbox preforms the time check before it checks the DVD drive, and since the Xbox was only softmoded I can't just format a new drive and throw it in. From what I've found online I can use CHIMP and my working TSOP'd Xbox to recover the dash files on this second one, however I need the EEPROM.bin file. Can I get it off using a file manager that can detect both drives using the working TSOP'd Xbox, can CHIMP find the EPROM.bin file on the slave HDD and recover from that, or do I need to purchase an IDE adapter to connect my Drive to a PC via XPLORER 360 and then transfer it over to the XBOX? Thanks.
  14. Hello everyone, Yesterday i was trying to repair my Xbox (wich is a 1.4/1.5, manifactured in 2003), i removed the clock capacitor and everything was fine (i dont care to put the date every time i plug it in) but from point blank it shut down and never came back. when i plug it in it FRAGs and i'm not getting out of this. This is my motherboard : https://imgur.com/a/ZycVKLW i have a modchip installed (not by me, but by someone in the early 2000s), but not a softmod as my xbox read only backups in DVD as far as i know. i made a post on reddit but i had no luck. i tried connecting my HDD to a PC with an adapter and it get recognized by the Devidce Manager but xboxhdm23usb and xplorer360 doesn't seem to detect it and i cant figure out why. i don't care to lose my data, but i just want my xbox back up and running, any suggestion is welcome, but i don't have a EEPROM reader nor a backup and neither a pc with serial port. help me getting this bad boy back to life
  15. Hi guys, I can confirm that this device works if you want to make a one to one clone of your XBOX Sata HDD: ORICO 6629US3-C-V1-US-BK USB3.0 to SATA Dual Bay External Hard Drive Docking Station I was able to successfully clone my my 1TB WD HDD for backup purposes: Cloned that with the same exact model. The actual amount of storage used was a little over 700 GB and took under 4 hours. Plugged the cloned HDD in and worked like a charm no issues. Great thing about it is the offline cloning function...so no need to connect it to your PC.
  16. hi all new here and new to thee xbox modding, i have a tosp modded og xbox i wont to check the heath of my drive as ive noiced sum saves are not loading i have a 500GB segate sata drive in it i wont to make sure the drive is ok and it's not just a curuped file ?
  17. After I modchip my 1.6 Xbox I put a new hdd and prepared it and at the end it opens the xb partitioner and I format my hd in there and all the left space I put it in the F drive which is around 238gb. When I return to the dash it only appears 123 gb. Thanks
  18. After upgrading my xbox HDD, it not only boots and runs 10 times slower, but the DVD drive now doesn't read any disk I put into the disk drive even official xbox games. It just says unknown. Now I don't mind the system booting up slower, but not reading anything in the disk drive is a major problem. I followed this tutorial exactly (I used the exact parts and followed all steps)
  19. Hi Team, I am working on cloning and upgraded the HDD from an existing soft modded XBOX to use SATA drive on TSOP modded v1.4 XBOX (tired of locked HDDs). I did not modify the XBOX originally, so my knowledge of how this HDD was soft modded/setup is almost nill outside of knowing the HDD password. I want to do as little as possible with the original, working modded XBOX in case something goes wrong and simply clone the drive and then do all the work with it to have it boot up correctly in the hard modded unit. My existing HDD is 400GB IDE and I am wanting to clone it over to a 500GB SATA so choosing the Full Disk option to simply clone the drive is probably not the best option as I will lose HDD space. From watching all the HDD cloning/upgrading videos using Chimp, I see that Chimp is looking for specific partitions, but when I FTP to this unit and see the drive partitions, they are not what is listed in the Chimp tutorials. Chimp of course asks about partitions C, E, F, & G, but my HDD has partitions C, E, F, Q, and R. Has anyone see a setup like that before? Will Chimp clone it correctly? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  20. Hello All, Long time listener, first time caller here. I have never modded an XBOX before, but looks like a fun project and I wanted to run my plan by the gurus on this forum to avoid any potential pitfalls (i.e. destroying the data on the original HDD doing something stupid being a newbie) after watching a ton of YouTube videos on the subject. I have an OG XBOX v1.6 that was modded and setup around 6-7 years ago. The motherboard died and I am looking to swap that drive into a new system and upgrade it to an unlocked SATA HDD (I don't want to have to deal with locked HDDs anymore). I have no knowledge of how it was built originally aside from the HDD password, but I love how it is laid out and boots up directly in to the emulator menu, etc and want to keep that. There is no evidence of any hard modding on the motherboard (no chip, no bridged soldering, etc), so I am assuming some version of soft mod. I have two working units (v1.2 & v1.4) and both are currently soft modded with the latest Rocky5 build with stock HDDs. I did install XMBC-Emustation on one of them, but aside from that, they have nothing special going on with them and I don't need anything off those drives. 30K foot view of my plan is as follows: 1. TSOP mod one of the working units and flash the BIOS with Evox M8 with F & G (HeXen 2020). 2. Take the currently modded HDD (400GB) out of the dead unit and using Victoria, remove the user password. 3. Install that HDD in the new TSOP modded unit and test (I assume that since the password is removed from the drive and the BIOS is flashed, it will simply boot even though I have no idea how the HDD was originally prepared). 4. Assuming steps 1 - 3 go as planned, convert the TSOP unit to an 80-pin cable and IDE/SATA adapter and clone the HDD to a WD Blue 500GB SATA using Chimp. -Am I correct in that I should pick the TSOP hard mod option in Chimp even though the HDD itself is soft modded? -Since my new SATA is bigger than the drive I am cloning, pick option 2 for select partitions and pick option 4 so partition G takes up all the remaining space on the larger drive 5. Shut it all down and remove the stock hard drive and install the SATA in the unit and hopefully it all boots up correctly. 6. Assuming everything up to this point went well, clone the new SATA drive with Chimp to another WD Blue 500GB (this time I can just pick the full disk clone option) 7. TSOP the second working unit and install the cloned drive and have 2 working, upgraded units. Let me know your thoughts and if you have any suggestions. I appreciate the feedback!
  21. Hey all, I have a 1.6 aladdin chipped xbox that runs perfectly fine with stock hdd. I received a 1.0 a while back that the original owner had no idea what him and his kid had done to it, as it was so long ago. The mobo is pretty bad, but it had a WD2000 200gb ide hdd in it. So I yanked the hdd out, and threw it in my 1.6. Upon booting with no disk, I was greeted to Error 16. Reboot and I got an Error 13, which is persistent when booting with no disk. When attempting to boot any game, be it official or burned, I get an error 21. I figured it wouldn't boot to anything other than errors, but I have never done this so I was curious what exactly I would be greeted with. I then threw a verified working copy of Hexen 2018 in the dvd drive, where the linux logo and red ring popped up. It usually takes this drive about 30 seconds to load it up, but I am stuck at a persistent loading screen. Downloaded Hexen 2021 and the OGXbox installer disk and the same thing happened. I did, however, manage to get Slayer 2.7 to load up. Slayer is telling me that I have no free space in any of my partitions, and it states the I have an HDD unlock fail. I tried locking and unlocking the drive with no success. I've tried formatting and reinstalling EvolutionX and MS dashboard, and the whole process only takes about 8 seconds, so it's obviously not doing anything. Also my hdd activity light only blinks like twice. My questions is, is the hdd toasted? It's spinning and gaining heat, so I know it's not completely dead. I've never messed with xbox hard drives before so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Sorry for making yet another thread so soon after the last one, I just have a few projects going at the same time and I keep running into issues lol. I swear I'm not trying to litter up the forum lol. Thank you so much for your help.
  22. Just a quick summary of my situation: My xbox was running OpenXenium with a 1TB HDD that was filled with content. I ruined that v1.4 motherboard trying to do an install, so scrapped it. I purchased another v1.4 motherboard as a replacement. (This motherboard replacement also came with a paired OEM HDD, btw). What is the best way to get that 1TB HDD working with this motherboard? I tried running it with OpenXenium, but get Error Code 6, which I believe refers to unlocked HDD (so I must not have unlocked it previously). Is there anyway I can salvage all of the data on this 1TB drive? Or will I have to reformat it for this motherboard and start over again?
  23. Hi, I have an OG Xbox with an unknow (to me) Mod, it was given to me maybe 10 years ago as it is now. The mod chip has a paper backing with no writing and the other side only has info re: the jumpers (pic), no identifiers that I could find. The boot screen shows XECUTER2 (pic) and the dashboard it goes to shows RemoteX v1.8.2812. It'll play backed up games and had one game loaded to the HDD listed in apps (not games), but due to E: being low on free space I deleted the data files for said game so it is up to over 4GB free now. I tried to upgrade the HDD with a 500GB SATA HDD using a PATA to SATA adapter (setting the jumper as needed) but the system would boot to a service error. I then tried a known good IDE drive which lead to the same error. Unless that is not a mod chip and this is soft modded? I have HeXEn 2018 on DVD, booted to that and tried to install Chimp to E so that I could clone the data to another drive. It installs but when I go to my dashboard I do not see chimp but the files are on E: Any ideas if this is soft modded or is that indeed a modchip? Suggestions on how to proceed in getting another HDD in the system? I don't need any of the data on there, would just like to be able to get the drive in and FTP over some games. Any other suggestions? Thanks for reading!
  24. Hi, I am listing for sale a xbox kasumi blue, asking price $300 + shipping at cost from Singapore. The original mobo 1.0 has been removed overtime and replaced with a rev 1.4 and matching PSU rated for 220v The xbox includes a 500GB HDD type IDE, an Open Xenium modchip loaded with both X2-5035 and Ind-bios, 128mb of ram No other mod on the external case aside from 3D printed feets I have owned the set for about 12 years then acquired a regular xbox about a year ago which I modded to my liking and therefore made the xbox kasumi blue redundant. Link to actual pictures of the set https://imgur.com/a/yrCkuyV You'll note that the pillow case is missing and was missing from day 1 when I bought it from Japan. Any other items meant to complete the set are available. I do not have feedback on the ogxbox forum but I have received good feedback on the neo geo forum for selling most of my arcade hardware http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/itrader.php?u=62671 Thanks, Jerome
  25. I've softmodded my first xbox and I upgraded the HDD and I've heard about the wonders of Emulators, Homebrew ect ect, now I'm wondering where do I download emulators lets say for the N64 or Sega Genesis? All help is appreciated.
