  1. Checking to see if anyone has ever tried or known someone who has tried to port the Marathon trilogy to the Xbox? I know the source code is here: https://alephone.lhowon.org/ I've seen this running on the Dreamcast, but have always thought it would be great for an Xbox version.
  2. I softmodded and then tsopped my original xbox. Before doing this I made a custom component cable which worked great with all my games and the stock dashboard. In one of the menu's during the softmod process the screen went crazy (kind of looks like a sink issue, the screen is squashed and scrolling across rapidly, impossible to tell what is on screen). I plugged in the composite cable and finished up the process and then TSOP'ed it. Now when I boot with the component cable the bios flubber animation works perfectly but the screen goes nuts when I get to unleasheX despite changing the video settings to NTSC-M, no to 480p-720p-1080i- enable pal, no to faster refresh rate. what could be causing this? EDIT: SOLUTION FOUND because the xbox restarts when video cable is reconnected I had to write down the button presses required to get to ms dashboard while using composite, then swith to component, follow the button presses, stock dashboard worked, go into settings and disable all high resolutions, and then restart. everythings fine now and I hope this helps others with the same issue
  3. I‘m new to the Xbox modding scene and i have a problem with unleashx dashboard. I installed a 500GB WD HDD in my 1.4 Xbox with Aladdin XT Plus 2 modchip. As setup/boot disc i used TruHexen 2021 out of the Forum. It recognizes the new HDD without problems and did format it perfectly. I installed the unleashx dashboarb, and rebootet. The console is booting until the point where the big X with the Xbox writing under it. After a few seconds Microsoft pops up under the Xbox logo. But then it looks like it is doing nothing. (I let it try for a few minutes, if its a slow bootup.) So have redone everything. I installed everything again with the TruHexen 2021 disc. But this time, i let it install every dashboard. I tried every single one. (avalaunch, evolution X etc.) They all work fine! Only unleashx wont boot with the same problems as is described bevore….. What could be the problem here/ is there a solution?
  4. I have noticed that there are still a few sealed consoles on ebay and they can get quite expensive. With all these consoles being sealed and in storage for over 15 years is it likely that the caps (apart from the usual problem caps) will need to be reformed or replaced before powered?
  5. I've softmodded my first xbox and I upgraded the HDD and I've heard about the wonders of Emulators, Homebrew ect ect, now I'm wondering where do I download emulators lets say for the N64 or Sega Genesis? All help is appreciated.
  6. Got a version 1.0 that is flashing orange (high temp) immediately after power up. ADM1032 chip looks good and meters out fine for power and I2C bus connections, but when I throw a logic analyzer on the bus, it never returns a READ response. 1.958481000000000,I2C,Setup Write to ['152'] + NAK 1.958792500000000,I2C,Setup Write to ['152'] + NAK 1.959192000000000,I2C,Setup Write to ['152'] + NAK 1.959548000000000,I2C,Setup Write to ['152'] + NAK 1.960861500000000,I2C,Setup Write to ['152'] + NAK Compare that to a "good" box I have than returns both MB and CPU temps over and over during the boot process. 1.069577000000000,I2C,Setup Write to ['152'] + ACK 1.069807500000000,I2C,'1' + ACK 1.070072000000000,I2C,Setup Read to ['153'] + ACK 1.070300500000000,I2C,'24' + NAK 1.070584000000000,I2C,Setup Write to ['152'] + ACK 1.070815000000000,I2C,'0' + ACK 1.071078000000000,I2C,Setup Read to ['153'] + ACK 1.071306000000000,I2C,'23' + NAK Before I replace it, any other thoughts? Clock cap was still on the board, but actually looked pretty good (minimal leakage), and the ADM1032 and surrounding area has been cleaned several times with IPA.
  7. I was talking to someone about my A51 arcade cab this morning and how I had changed the old failing IDE HDD out for a flash solution. And as a result it got me thinking if anyone had ever done this with the XBOX and did it work? You can but IDE Flash card adapters really cheap like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Syba-Insertion-Connects-Interface-SD-CF-IDE/dp/B000YUMLPI?th=1 or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SD-To-3-5-40Pin-Male-IDE-Hard-Disk-Drive-Adapter-Card-3-5-IDE/303593957108?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D633b9ac4a9054d3292235044254373aa%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D303593957108%26itm%3D303593957108%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DUnbranded&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A39467bb8-c854-11ea-ad71-74dbd180435c|parentrq%3A5dda769d1730aadcf4c6bb5efffbfed4|iid%3A1 I remember from doing my cab that some are better than others and some just dont work, But I figured I would ask as it could potentially be a better option than using the old IDE HDD's or using a sata converter?
  8. If you check out the wiki list for original Xbox games that support widescreen, you'll see a shit load of games that supposedly support 16:9 widescreen in proper unstretched aspect ratio, though most at only 480p. Well, I have a modded Unleash X OGXbox and have never been able to do it, despite fiddling with every setting I can find - from the OGBox's original dash to the display settings in Unleash X. Nada. Nothing works. The few games like that Incredible Hulk one that were released in 720p have no problems with proper 16:9 widescreen but all these others that supposedly support it just don't work. I even messed with the various aspect ratio & zoom settings on my Vizio 42" E420i-B0 Smart TV and no joy. Just curious: has anyone here managed to do it? I can easily live with those black bars on either side it's just that it would be nice to have 16:9 on all 480p games that supposedly support. it.
  9. Just wondering as i never have seen these in person and only have heard of them. I was wondering if anyone here actually had any type of video of one of these in action? or maybe someone here actually owns one? Much Appreciated
