  1. HI my replacement fan does not wanna spin I upgraded the ram and that was it üduring the top onece it worked and on the bottom ones I did not notice it. It did never got too hot or something like that. I used diferent fan still nothing. and if no fan is connected it is 11 Volts
  2. I've been through hell with this Xbox over the past couple of weeks so let me give a bit of a rundown. I've got a 1.6 Xbox that I installed OpenXenium on using an LPC rebuild board, Chimeric's IDE cable, StarTech IDE/SATA adapter, and a WD 2TB drive. For the longest time I had issues with the OpenXenium install where it would FRAG if the chip was installed. I checked continuity and everything was fine with each VIA to its corresponding point, so I redid my soldering twice and it booted into OpenXenium. I then install a dash, setup the new drive, and put the Xbox back together. However it FRAG'ed again whenever I put the top case back with all the bottom screws. Took the case off, still FRAGing. I realized it was FRAGing with just Chimeric's IDE cable after a couple hours so I got a replacement cable, and everything worked fine with the top case back on. Until it didn't. After turning the Xbox off for a few hours it wouldn't turn back on, period. I took the top case off, and it powered on fine, but after a couple seconds I heard a loud whine/squealing noise from the right side of the Xbox (which I assume was the PSU) > turned the Xbox off > and then it never turned back on again, even with just the bare board. So I replaced the PSU. Issue fixed, it powered back on fine. But when I put the top case back on, it wouldn't power back on, and now I'm at the same spot I was before. The Xbox is not powering on no matter what I do. So here's what I've done so far since then to try and narrow this down: I do not know for 100% certain that the motherboard has been case swapped, but I have no reason to believe it was. The bottom stickers were all intact and the screws were not exposed, and there are no missing/extra screw posts on the bottom of the case compared to the board. I've also tested power with the board and PSU isolated from the case and I'm still not getting power, so the case is not the issue I've checked continuity with all VIAs to their corresponding points with a multimeter and they all have continuity. LFRAME is also not grounded I've checked the PSU using this chart here . I'm getting 5.3v on every orange, 0v on white, 0v on red, 0v on yellow, and 0.3v on blue I'm getting 3.25v-3.26v on the collector chip Anyone have any ideas on where to go from here?
  3. I have several boards (1.0, 1.1 & 1.4) that will not power up with a known good power supply. Capacitors all look good and there are no visible signs of damage or component failure anywhere. Are there typical failure points that I should check? Would it be worth it to replace the power caps anyway? Thanks for any help. I hate to ditch these boards or just use them for parts.
  4. So i have got an xbox revision 1.0 for parts. Inside the motherboard was pretty much immaculate with non-leaked clock cap. Sadly the xbox just FRAGged. I did lots of troubleshooting including dumping the eeprom with raspberry pi, testing it with different psu or trying the TSOP bank split trick for coma console. I thought, that the TSOP must be faulty so i ordered aladdin xt. However the holes on 1.0 are filled with solder and hard to clean up. In the end, i soldered each leg of the pinheader individually. It looks ugly, but there are at least pretty wet solder joints and modchips do fit in it. Sadly it still frags. Images: I have: 1. Grounded the bottom d0 point 2. Grounded BT on the aladdin 3. Tested the aladdin in my 1.6 and then reflashing it with indbios 4. Replaced a R7D4 resistor i accidentally desoldered I also remember, there was possibly a short at Q7R1 part. I fixed it, but two pins next to each other are still shorted according to multimeter. The two pins are those closest to the Q in the Q7R1 marking (left down side on the bottom side picture)
  5. Hi so I would love to play any games I can in 720 on the XBOX I recently hardmodded . Ver 1.6 Alladin xt 2 + chip stock HD . I have figured out how to play XBOX games in HD using XBMC for Gamers and was not able to play my KIXXX in 720 even though the setting are there. I select the option but it doesn't seem to "stick" as the resolution looks low. Maybe I cant play In 720 I don't know what I can and can't do with my basic setup. What are my limitations? Thanks.
  6. I accidentally wiped my EEPROM with an Arduino when trying to read it, and have no backup. Now even with Config Magic's valid blank EEPROM, there's no video out. Only a green blink code (34? It's 3 fast and 4 slow blinks) Now I'm wondering if there's any way to fix it. This rarely happens, so there's not much info on the net about it. I'm thinking even if I got a modchip such as openXenium, the motherboard might be useless. Should I give up on this yet and just get another box, or get the modchip (already prepped the v1.6 board with headers and LPC rebuild)? Can the modchip make it boot with bad EEPROM data? Eventually, I got the Arduino code reliably reading and writing data, but even with the 'valid blank' EEPROM data, that hasn't helped so far.
  7. I was trying to transfer games through FTP using FileZilla in Linux Mint 19.3 to my Soft Modded Xbox which has a 1TB WD SATA HDD (model: WD10JPVX). I configured the Xbox Network settings to a maximmum of 5 users and FileZilla to 4. Every time I tried to tranffer a file, the user counter on the Xbox went up to 5 and FileZilla started showing errors. So I booted Windows 10 with FileZilla. Still, had the same problem. Anyway, I deleted a Game Folder (4gb) from the "G" partition. Suddenly the Message Log window started showing a list of errors. When it finish, I went to the "Games" section on the Xbox and there where no games and the "G" partition which is about 800GB (I believe), had only 4GB free. So I though the the partition was corrupted. I decided to go to the format menu on UnleashX and format the "G" partition. After formating, the "G" partition sowed its true size. So I used "WinSCP" instead of FileZilla to transfer the files. Everyhting was good. It did transfer a lot of games, till I got an error: "Copying files to remote side failed. /G/Games/filename* Directory not found. At this point I had 560 GB free in the "G" partition. Someone suggested to do a clean install and wipe the disk. So I followed a youtube tutorial by Mr. Mario. Put the stock HDD back, Hot Swap the 1TB HDD as slave, started Chimp 261812 and it said that the slave hdd (1TB softmodded) was lock. So I tried to unlock the HDD with all the options given by Chimp and it remain lock. The options were: Unlock... From Motherboard From /tmp/eeprom.bin From Master password: XBOXSCENE From Master Password: TEAMASSEMBLY From /tmp/hddkey.txt So I retrieve the Stock HDD and put the 1TB Back in and... now the xbox wont boot. It says: Service required. Call Customer Service. I don't know if the HDD is faulty... I tried to run a test by putting the HDD into my laptop but it ask for a HDD Master Password and tried XBOXSCENE and TEAMASSEMBLY but they were invalid. I don't know what elese to do. Don't know how to unlock it or if its Faulty at this point. Should I buy a 2TB at this point? I don't know which 2TB model would work...
