  1. Looks like Harcroft has been improving on the Ryzee version and has been getting help. Cool to see some activity around this design! Nothing beats open-source! " 2/2 I've been working with some friends at Xbox-Scene to update @Ryzee119's open source HDMI prototype for Xbox to provide a more user friendly install and add some features. We're at the prototyping stage but things are looking good for a free open source internal Xbox HDMI Mod.
  2. Hi everyone, There are numerous posts throughout the interwebs with people reporting vertical lines showing in the boot animation and MS dashboard when running in 480i. The standard response when people bring up the issue seems to be be 'check your capacitors' and 'just force 480p'. I've seen some people report their caps are either fine, or they replaced them with no change, and I know that forcing 480p does fix the issue, but what I would like to understand is, are there systems using the Conexant encoder which don't suffer from this 480i issue, or is there anyone who had the issue who actually solved the issue by replacing caps and if so, which capacitors solved the issue? Thanks for any feedback. This just seems like one of those issues which have affected a number of people but that the community maybe doesn't understand the actual cause.
  3. Does anyone know of a cheap XBOX arcade control encoder or way to use a modded XBOX with arcade controls? I currently have two cocktail cabinets I am trying to build up: one with an IPAC, and one with dragonrise encoders. Ultimarc used to have one you could use with an IPAC be they no longer carry it and they aren't even on ebay. I have seen degenatrons controller hack and its beyond my technical capabilities. Thanks!
  4. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck mixing a debug bios with a Focus based motherboard. I tried recently doing a retail to debug xbox conversion and the unit that I tried it on has the Focus video encoder and I ran into video issues as soon as I used PBL to switch to a debug bios. I have tried with both the complex 4627 BFM and also with the 5388 stock one that comes with the dev files and they produced the same result, scrambled video.. I have tried this with an xbox that has the Conexant video encoder and it seems to work though unfortunately due to some screw ups with some DVD drive testing, I have fried the DVD control/power from the PIC meaning I have to power the drive from another xbox for it to work (leave it for another topic as to what I was doing). Anyways , I was wondering if anyone knows of any workarounds for getting the debug bios to work on the Focus video encoder. I have a feeling since there arent any since all debug units to my knowledge had the Conexant video encoder, but nonetheless worth a try. Thanks
