  1. So after I finally replaced the HDD with 1TB one, I've been trying to rip the games I have to ISO files using DVD2Xbox. The issue is that after around 10% to 15% the process hangs and the drive starts making weird noises, at which point I just shut it down cause I was afraid maybe it was causing damage. Anyway this has happened with 3 different discs already and I did not see any visible scratches. Is my DVD drive dying? (The Xbox is revision 1.2, softmodded with Rocky5 and the drive is a Samsung). I thought about using a DVD cleaner disc, which some people said works great while others said it does more harm than good. Anyone has any experience with those? Also, I'm really not good with messing around with hardware. It was already difficult enough to replace the HDD (I actually managed to tear an IDE cable) so I'm not very enthusiastic about taking the DVD drive apart to manually clean the laser. I thought about maybe just replacing the drive altogether. I found this one on eBay: Samsung SD-616 IDE 16x DVD CD-ROM Drive (48xCD-ROM, 2001) | eBay The image says revision F, so I assume I can flash it with Xbox firmware and it'll work? Although I'm a bit concerned that some sellers have a large stock and not all of them might be the same revision. Anyone has any experience? Thanks and sorry for the noob questions.
  2. Hello all the Problem is only some DVD rips play on XBMC? The movies either refuse to play, or get past the WB sponsor logo and I get a failed video playback pop up and crash to dash. When I use DVD2Xbox to rip the movie it makes 2 track ISO files. part 00.iso part 01.iso it splits the ISO’s but the division in gig is not related to failing to play.’ (board specks) I have a 1TB HD that I’m pretty happy with the content on it. I’m left with about 400gb. it’s a rescue NTSC-board, 128mb ram, Mod-Chip with IND, Version 1.2 & I used NTSC-Pal and setup Play NTSC videos at Pal rates. (background) I do like putting a physical DVD in the tray, but I have 100’s (LIKE 100’s) of DVD’s in an ottoman/cupboard! is this problem a copy-right encryption on the physical disk? would I have to FTP the ISO’s off and lower the quality of the movie and put it back on?
  3. Hi all! I've got a hold of an OSSC and put the scanlines on, everything looks great. So I was playing Halo 2 direct from the disc, everything works great. Decided I'd like to rip it to the HDD using DVD2Xbox. 2 Files failed to copy... ok weird, DVD is pretty much pristine but w/e. Get a second copy of Halo 2, same files fail to copy a second time. From a completely different disc. They seemed to be the map files for New Mombasa and High Charity. This is very strange, anyone encountered this error before? I thought my disc was damaged but after trying a second copy I'm stumped.
  4. Hi, So just the other day, i got a new 2TB Hard installed into my Modded Xbox and I was about to start copying games to my xbox but was having issues with the DVD Drive not recognising any disks any more. While this was happening I decided to play around with the Skin on my installation of DVD2Xbox. I ended up choosing Windows XP Skin. Now the Application starts up with the application splash screen and then goes to a black screen. I am assuming that the skin isn't installed or is broken, so I am getting a black screen. Is there a way to find and fix a config file for dvd2xbox via FTP? and if so how?
  5. I have very badly scratched games and want to create backup disks. It took me quite some time to repaid Colin Macree 04 to work on DVD2XBOX - finally after using magic eraser I managed to get the xbox to read the disk and extract the ISO using DVD2XBOX - however - when I went to copy the ISO to my pc - it turns out there is an ISO just over 4GB and another ISO just over 2GB - any idea why there is 2 ISOs? Thanks
  6. I used DVD2Xbox to put a number of games on my hd. It created a folder /DVD2Xbox in my games folder, but it isn’t a copy of DVD2Xbox. And I started to delete it and noticed it started taking games with it. What is this? And if I can’t delete without causing issue can I at least stop it from appear in my games list in my Dashboard?
  7. Hey everyone, I started ripping my games to my HDD (stock) using DVD2Xbox and then FTPing them over to my PC. I ran into the first game in my library, though, that is too large to fit on the stock HDD (Jade Empire). I'm planning on upgrading the HDD at some point anyway, but for now I figured I would use the "Copy DVD/CD to Samba share" feature of DVD2Xbox so that I can just rip it over the network to my PC. I have created a shared folder on my Windows 10 PC and made sure all of the appropriate network sharing/permissions options are set. I updated the DVD2Xbox config XML with the shared folder information. When I try to begin ripping the disc, though, I receive an error: "ACL processing is not supported over SMB." I tried going to the DVD2Xbox settings and setting General/Enable ACL Processing to "No", but no luck. I have tried searching online for a solution to this for some time, but have only found a few relevant threads. Of course they all end with someone saying "I fixed it," but nothing else. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a setting on my Xbox or PC that I need to change? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Patrick
