Hello there I'm interested in modding xbox CPU to 1,4Ghz and also upgrade ram to 128mb. I'd like to ask about cost of that upgrade. I cant do it myself

So with what I have heard, is it true that the only difference between the Xbox's CPU and an off-the-shelf Pentium III the fact that the cache is cut down to 128kb? If so, is it actually at all possible in any way to connect up a Xbox cpu to a pc of that era and see it work? Yes, I am aware of the fact that you would have to desolder the CPU.

Underclocked 1ghz Xbox to 735mhz by patching the bios to 107mhz FSB (using XBoverclock by WulfyStylez). It fixed GTA Vice City and Rallisport 2, which XBEpatcher (by mwaterbu) did not manage to fix. Not sure if works for all games, but seems like it should. This probably could be loaded by Phoenix Bios Loader or can be on a modchip bank, waiting to be selected when needed.

I have a hard time believing this since all the mods I have seen on this recently have involved a TSOP flash.

Looking for cpu & ram upgraded mobo

Hello OGXbox members. I recently found out that N64Freak no longer does the 1ghz mod, fair enough as the CPU is pretty hard to find on eBay HOWEVER!, I have found a 900mhz Mobile P3 CPU, it is the same socket as the Original Xbox uses Socket 495 BGA. Hello, fellow OGers! That thermal compound from the factory is failing in our beloved consoles. It can lead to rising temps and possible chip failure. Would any you know if it would be possible to run a amd athlon thunderbird 1.4ghz inside the xbox? Its the rival to the pentium III with a socket A 462 could it be done. Could the cpu socket be modified to run this cpu? Any relevant information and ideas and thoughs would be welcome. No negative nancies , Keep those to yourself.

Just trying to get a better read on my CPU for patching games. 1480 works on some but others are a bit more finicky.
