About Me

  1. So I received this in the post today, to me it looks like a re-design of the Aladding XT. 1mb chip with X2 512k bios, xblas & IND 256k bios each. I've seen several posts and links here before to other forums about re-programming the IC on Aladding XT but no exact step by step guide. And recently someone else did it on discord and I reaced out to them but they never shared how they did it. I got a faulty Aladding XT which was working fine and had the chip on it flashed with Xblast bios for testing while doing ram upgrades until one day it went bad after an attempt and since then it just frags whenever its installed on any board. I know its not the ST chip as I re-programmed it and tried different ones but it just does the same which could only mean the IC gone bad or curruept on it. I've got several devices that could program the xsv files format like NAND-X, Glitch360 Spi & Matrix NAND programmer. anyone used or has idea how any of these can be used to program the IC on Aladdin XT or read the IC on this new Jafar chip?
  2. Hey everyone. So, I find myself in a unique situation. I will try to break down my problem as simply as possible: ::I have an S-Type (small) Original Xbox controller with a bad cable. I only have this one controller. ::I do not have a breakaway cable to connect the controller to the Xbox, BUT I have an Xbox controller port to female USB port cable. (pictured here: https://ibb.co/wJTTYfL ) My question is this: could I desolder the Xbox controller cable from the controller board and solder on a USB cable with a standard type-A (male) USB connector to connect to the Xbox, through the pictured-above female USB port?
  3. Xbox original controller to USB cable. $7 USA Shipped. Cash App or PayPal goods and services only.
  4. I started playing Full Spectrum Warrior after picking up a copy at a local game store, and I've got a weird issue. It seems the game wants me to jam the buttons all the way down for them to register in the game. Considering you have to press a button every time you issue an order, this means I'm constantly jamming the buttons down at a force that feels uncomfrotable, and it makes me misinput (as in actually miss inputs) rather often, because I don't naturally "bottom out" the buttons like that. My question is if this is normal behavior for the game, as in the programmers intentionally or unintentionally programmed face button inputs to only register at full pressure, or if this is an issue involving my hardware/software. Game is running on a 1.6 softmod, downloaded to hard drive with DVD2Xbox, tested with OEM controllers with tested inputs. Unable to test on my chipped 1.4 as it's down some repairs.
  5. This is a long shot since I can't seem to find anything on the subject anywhere. Does anyone know how (website, guide, person, video) to install both the remote dongle and the logitech dongle internally? I remember a long time ago a guide or two on how to do it but can't seem to find anything now. I'm guessing that there's a lag issue for the logitech and maybe there's better newer tech now that corrects that, if lag is a big issue I might just get something newer even if its not internal but the remote dongle to turn the xbox on is a must. Is the lag that bad on the logitech, enough to go back to wired? What do you guys recommend is the best wireless solution with current tech? I would still like to know how to do the mods, hope someone out there knows. Thanks in advance.
  6. Can I swap a cable from an official S controller and a Duke. I can solder so was thinking I could open my Duke as the lead is snagged - still working perfectly. I was planning on cutting the wire just inside both controllers and then soldering the non frayed wires from the 'S' to the Duke. Has anyone tried this? Should I just leave well enough alone? Thanks
  7. Looks like since the OGX360 came out the Microsoft XBOX 360 PC receivers have skyrocketed in price. Do we have any other alternative? would rather not have to get a USB hub and 4 8BIT and 4 new XBOX controllers. All the alternatives seem to be a receiver only for 1 specific controller vs any 4 controllers, Ideas?
  8. I have a few of these LED pcbs for the OG Xbox controller ports. I am trying to locate a tutorial on how to install these, but I cant find one. Can anyone please point me in the right direction.
  9. I got a 1.6 Xbox off ebay today. Still works (minus the dvd drive, but I got several spare dvd drives), but the case is absolutely fucked in and out. After taking the controller ports out, I can't even put them back in - all but one of the posts for screws that hold the controller ports in are broken! I can only hold controller port 4 in with the intact post, all the other posts have big chunks broken off. Is there anything I could rig up to hold the rest of the controller ports down, or bolt it down, or should I just try to find an intact 1.6 case?
  10. I was given two broken original Xbox consoles to try and fix. After fixing the issues with one of them, I tried to test it. As I didn't have a controller for it I bought an adapter like the one in the picture (Adapter) to try and use either a USB arcade stick or one of my wired controllers for PC, Xbox 360, or Xbox One. I eventually bought a controller for it as I could not get anything to work with this adapter. So I am wondering, does this adapter serve any purpose? Has anybody gotten an arcade stick kit like the one in the second picture to work on the original Xbox?
  11. Hello I'm looking at doing my first case mod and really need to get an understanding of what i'm working with. Looking at some 5mm Blue LED's from ebay, Specs Not sure if I am working this out correctly so would these work with eachother? Many thanks in advance
  12. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265197533417 Hey everyone, please delete if not allowed but I'm selling a custom modded Xbox 360 controller. I don't know too much about it, let alone what it's actually worth, but I'm sharing in case anyone wants to check it out. It has a nice aesthetic to it but I'm not sure if there's rapid fire or anything like that built in. I figured with the OGX360 becoming more popular and viable for different controller options on the OG Xbox and certain controllers either being hard to find in general or simply hard to find in good condition, I figured someone here might be interested before the auction ends. Thank you!

  14. I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I don't know where to go. My OGX360 is currently using an 8bitdo Wireless USB Adapter (see https://www.8bitdo.com/usb-adapter-ps1-classic) to connect with an Xbox One controller. I tried to sync an Xbox Series X controller with it, but it failed to pair. Since this could be a limitation of the 8bitdo adapter, would my Xbox Series X controller successfully pair if I switch to the official Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter? Thank you.
  15. Hi I just stepped into this does anyone have some info about this Controller?
  16. Trying to get rid of all these controller ports I have. 20 shipped in the us for a complete set for the xbox, choose from red, green, blue, yellow, white, or any combo of the five.
  17. I did search first before posting and couldn't find any threads specifically talking about this. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. I have tested with an original XBOX S Type controller and a 3rd party controller. I have also tested with a USB keyboard and an adapter. None of which work when I enter XeniumOS. However, the controllers work when modchip is disconnected. This is a 1.4 revision XBOX. I assume it must be one of my solder joints to the modchip. I have already reflowed these joints multiple times to fix another issue. Unfortunately, I closed the machine up before I realized the problem. Anyone know which pins I should focus on? Is there a way to test continuity between LPC header pins and the motherboard? Thanks for any help you can provide.
  18. Hey guys, all my original controllers are out of commission for now unless until i can fix them, if i even can. I have a few 3rd party controllers but all the joysticks just feel awful, i don't know if its the dead zone or the sensitivity or both but wow they just do not feel good. Anyone know a way to help with this? I dont know if i can install some other joysticks or if its possible to modify the ones in them already or what. Honestly might just be time to buy or build that wireless xbox360 controller mod.
  19. Could somebody please post an example of reading controller button status (eg. which button is pressed) in assembly...?
  20. xbox controllers are made in an annoying way so that the buttons are not easily fixed when the they stop registering. i don't know the terms here so i'm going to describe what i'm trying ask as best possible. i'm also really tired and my brain is about half asleep. anyway, the pcb has something similar to black tape with the little black pads under it instead of having the black pads on the rubber thing itself(the rubber piece that goes under the buttons). so it is very difficult to replace that tape thing when buttons presses stop registering. has anyone made a modified rubber thing with the black pads made onto it so the black tape can be peeled off and thrown away?
  21. Hi - are 3rd party controllers compatible with Coun Ops 8 and Massive or is it better to stick with an original controller?
  22. I repaired a black Controller S just replacing the worn joysticks with alternatives which have worked well. The controller had joystick centering issues which those replacements pretty much eliminated. The controller has been used quite a lot over the two months since the repairs without any problems and then last night (BTW still very hot ambient temperatures 85+F) the controller started acting up. At first I thought it was a game glitch or a corrupt game save file but after being returned to the pause menu multiple times or just freezing with no controller response it started to tell me to reattach the controller to port 1. A replacement Controller S worked fine as far as I tested it so I do not think it is a controller port problem. I've had a similar thing with a used MS XB360 wired controller which was faulty. It would work fine then suddenly report the same thing or getting no signal despite the fact it was a wired controller. My suspicion was the cable had been run over by a vacuum cleaner or something similar as there was clear physical damage and exposed wires I'd wrapped in insulating tape. But I guess it was also stretched to the point one or more of the wires was part broken. However with this OG Xbox and Controller S its unlikely to be anything like that. The cable is always used with plenty of slack and has never knowingly been stretched or damaged. There's no evidence of that at all - the cable looks good. So what could cause this behaviour with a Controller S? Any ideas?
  23. Need chip of controller ( duke- smaller realease original) modded for wireless or with the shell too.
  24. Hopefully this is the right place for this. Are any of the pieces of the Xbox One controller compatible with the OG Xbox? I'm mostly curious about the ABXY buttons and the joysticks. I know that Xbox 360 joysticks will work on the OG Xbox controllers more or less, but the Xbox One has a lot more options for custom controller parts, so I wanted to see if anything was transferable.
  25. i know there is a way to mod an og xbox to use an xb1 controller but has anyone found a way to put an xb1 controllers circuit boards into an og xbox s controller shell?
