About Me

  1. Dear All, As most users on this forum have faced the same issue, which solution is best for better video quality, I own a so called "cheap" component cable, which in fact is not so bad as I imaged, besides having a slight ghosting on the image, when I remove the audio (left/right) rca, the issue is more or less gone, but on the flip coin no sound. So I figured out what could be to fix the issue of HD picture. 1) I thought of getting a converter from component to hdmi, namely "Portta PETRHS YPbPr Component Video and L/R RCA Audio to HDMI Converter Upscaler 720p 1080p" which converters the signals from the component cable to straight HDMI signals and hopefully the ghosting effect could be gone with this solution, given the treatment the box does to the conversion and have an upscale image. 2) Or ditching the components cable and buy this HDMI Link cable, on amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Original-MASCARRY-No-Mods-Required-Converter/dp/B07JHJB1Y8?SubscriptionId=AKIAJKVC5TM5C4Y6TOSQ&tag=haggle-web-en-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B07JHJB1Y8 My system is a 1.4 revision of the Xbox, read horrible stuffs about xbox 1.4 and hdmi converters like Pound, but this one is of a different brand. What are you thoughts on this?
  2. Thought I would ask this question here as I ran into this the other night while using a few consoles as guinea pigs for testing a few things. I've been familiarizing myself with the process of cloning drives using Chimp 261812 and have successfully done two with no issues - one on a softmodded console and the other on a hardmodded console. However I noticed Chimp 261812 on Rocky5's Extras Disc works perfectly fine with my component cables. Chimp 261812 on HeXEn (specifically 2018 when I tried it) would cut to black and not display anything on my setup after I pressed "A" after hooking up the slave hard drive. I restarted the process on the HeXEn build using composite cables as opposed to component and had no issues. Is this common? Has anyone tested Chimp 261812 over component cables with 480p/720p/1080i disabled as well? I was going to do that last night but forgot about it.
  3. Wondering if perhaps my DIY 360 component cable tutorial should be moved to the official tutorial section as it has more views than all of the official tutorials combined. I posted it in the hardware mods section originally.
  4. Not sure where to post this but wanted to let people know to check everywhere for lost items. I thought I looked everywhere for my og xbox component cables in my shed, video game extras totes, garage, ....but I wanted a coax cable and I knew I had one connected in my living room that wasn't being used. While grabbing the coaxial I noticed some component cables in the back and thought they were for a 360. I decided to take them off because I don't have a 360 anymore. To my surprise they were xbox component cables !!! I haven't had an OG xbox for over a year and a half!!!!!!! They're Original ones!! I think I giggled like a little school girl!!!!!!
