About Me

  1. So I received this in the post today, to me it looks like a re-design of the Aladding XT. 1mb chip with X2 512k bios, xblas & IND 256k bios each. I've seen several posts and links here before to other forums about re-programming the IC on Aladding XT but no exact step by step guide. And recently someone else did it on discord and I reaced out to them but they never shared how they did it. I got a faulty Aladding XT which was working fine and had the chip on it flashed with Xblast bios for testing while doing ram upgrades until one day it went bad after an attempt and since then it just frags whenever its installed on any board. I know its not the ST chip as I re-programmed it and tried different ones but it just does the same which could only mean the IC gone bad or curruept on it. I've got several devices that could program the xsv files format like NAND-X, Glitch360 Spi & Matrix NAND programmer. anyone used or has idea how any of these can be used to program the IC on Aladdin XT or read the IC on this new Jafar chip?
  2. I have an xbox with a X3 CE chip installed with the attached bank switches. I was able to update to flashbios 3.0.1. Bank 1234: on on off off This xbox does not get passed the Xecuter boot screen when I short press the power button (chip enabled). If I long press the power button (chip disabled) I get code 13. If I long press the power button with an original xbox game in the DVD drive the game runs no issues. I am also able to reach the flashBios screen by long pressing the eject an power buttons together. I bought this xbox a while back and have been trying to make it work properly. I believe I'm missing another bios file but I'm really not sure. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I got a free Xbox v1.0 that had Error 21. I cleaned the board, replaced the clock cap with one I bought online (no leakage), installed an Aladdin XT Plus 2 modchip, and used TrueHeXen 2021 to erase the hard drive and install UnleashX. Now, the console turns on without giving an error, but this is where the real pickle is: 1. Trying to boot MS DASH from the menu brings up Error 21 2. Trying to load Burnout 3 (an Xbox Live game) freezes as it loads. 3. Trying to change dashboards (I.e. UnleashX to XBMC4Gamers) ALWAYS fails with an error and no description. This is both with the TrueHeXeN disk or from within UnleashX. As some additional background, it’s a 1.0 and I cannot flash a 512kb BIOS, and it actually says “BIOS: Unknown” in the TrueHeXen disk. I’ve also tried clearing the cache to see if that’s preventing the game from running and it’s not that.
  4. I was given a broken Xbox version 1.0 and I want to take that mod chip and put in in my 1.3 . the chip is explained in more detail in this post I’ve found on the forum It was previously installed SOLDERLESS with a spring pin head system you just line up and screw down. When I took it out of the Xbox I noticed a random wire that was stabbed into the board? dose anyone know if this has a purpose or if it’s a necessity ? many thanks in advance
  5. I am trying to salvage a busted white duo x2 mod chip for parts for a project im working on. I know the larger square 'duo' chip is a xilinx xc9572xl. but Im not sure what the larger chip is (I believe it is nand?) I am more interested in the square 8 pin chip that has the ic part and serial number sanded off. if anyone knows what the 8pin chip is, please let me know. edit: the 'amd' chip is most likely: 16MBIT PARALLEL FLASH MEMORY 48TSOP / AM29LV160MT-100EI (legacy) or S29AL016J70TFI010 (taken from open xenium)
  6. So I bought my XB from Ebay. It shipped with Aladdin plus modchip ( booted with blue Logo and text ) but running to original MS Dashboard. I assumed previous owner just want to run the game dvds and didnt need the dashboard thought. Its HDD is locked so plug to PC is impossible. I have tested several disc with its dvd player and can confirm its Samsung DVD is now dead. Id like to ask if there is anyway to install the Evox dashboard to its HDD or will it work if I format and copy EvoX dashboard to new HDD and plug it to the console? Thank you.
  7. My family absolutely adores our original xbox. It was modded back in the day with an Xecuter v2.6 chip with is connected to the debug pins, and a few other misc spots. I didn't get to the clock chip in time, and corrosion ate through the tiny edge traces under the board. I've tried repairing it, but it's beyond me... once it warms up, it goes crazy on/off eject/close... I have another 1.0 motherboard and figured I could use that as a replacement, then cross the HDD Key when I got there. So I followed the pinout of the original motherboard and replicated its connections, installed the new motherboard in the original's case and sure enough, Code 6... So I softmodded the new mobo with its original HDD with the Rocky setup and null'd the hard drive. I swapped the HDD back to my original and still no good... I've read that hard-modded xboxes are capable of working better with non-locking HDDs, so I'm hoping there's something I can do to get this new motherboard communicating with my original hard drive. I really would like to keep the content that we have on there. Is there any hope? Thanks in advance!
  8. Forgive me if this is something that can be found by searching, but I haven't found it: Is there currently any chip in production that supports the X3 bios? It seems like the only ones around have 256k flashes, unless I'm mistaken
  9. I have just FTP'd CoinOps 8 over to my newly mod chipped Xbox but there is no Emulator option in the menu so I can't load it. I can see an option to 'format' menu but it asks for a password to be entered to access it. Also I have 'HeXEN tools' and 'Ndure tools' but these too require passwords, although these require pressing buttons in the correct order. Is there any commonly used passwords I can try to use or should I contact the seller I purchased the modchip off about this?
  10. For some reason while trying to flash a new bios to my TSOP I got a message saying 'programming failed', and now I get no picture when my console boots and the LED flashed red and green. So i'm thinking it's bricked. I was wondering if I installed a mod chip would this then save the console? I've seen an 'Aladdin XT+4032 X2 Plus' on eBay and the installation seems very simple for these chips.
  11. I have an old Xbox that has an Xecuter 2 chip installed, it still has the stock HDD so i'd like to upgrade it to a 500GB SATA. Weirdly I cannot physically see any chip soldered to the board, I can see some yellow wires going out the front of the console so i'm not sure if this is where the chip is located? (see pic). In any case I have downloaded the HeXen 2018 installation disc, and I have the necessary parts required to convert from IDE to SATA. Is this disc capable of setting up a HDD with this chip? I took a couple of pics showing my kernel and the fact my current HDD is locked:
  12. I chip modded my Xbox 20 years ago when I was in college. Not sure the type of chip but I can find out if need be. Evolution X executor rox my box load screen. Fast forward and now I have 4 kids who have resurrected the Xbox, ages 4-11. I suspect one of the kids messed up the bios but I really don't know. One day, the kids can't get into system utilities anymore and load games. Here is the screen it boots to. Not sure where to go from here to get the machine working but I can follow directions and my 11YO is as nerdy as I used to be, so I'm hoping all is not lost. Any guidance appreciated.
  13. Is it possible to repair xecuter modchip by replacing actel IC, if any programming necessary? I plugged the chip backwards, made some crackling sounds, but no explosions or magic smoke.
  14. Hey guys, Wondering if someone might be able to help me with this. Recently installed OpenXenium on my 1.6 with LPC board (pics attached). Xbox turning on just fine but getting a black screen when video cables connected. Tried both component and standard composite. The Xbox led is green as per usual. The chip led itself actually flashes so I know its getting power BUT after it flashes a few colors the chip LED turns off and I'm left with a black screen on the tv. When i remove my video cables from the xbox and only have the power plugged into the Xbox the chip LED stays on, flashing every few seconds between red and yellow. Xbox boots fine to dash with chip unplugged. The machine is soft modded. Could that be causing an issue getting to the Xenium OS screen? Losing hope on this. Thoughts?
  15. G'day mates ! (typical aussie speak i swear) I've had a bit of a break from the OGX scene however I am back now and picking up the peices after I did what I wanted to with some old projects. Thanks to @SS_Daveive got a $20 bargain 1.4 board working again (afte I butchered an LPC build) however I want to extract an old bios file I wrote a couple of years ago on my Duo x3 chip. Whats the best tool to estract it and then edit it to see what is in it so I can modify it for this new box. As I have a strong feeling the file I wrote was for a slimeline I made with a DVD delete, however It has some colours and settings I changed that I want to use for this new OGXBox. Cheers - Dan
  16. Hi all im a newbie to your forum and to og xbox homebrew. i recently purchased one of those 2tb modded og xbox from ebay that was already setup. im not a newbie to the homebrew scene just to og xbox i went to use the download tool in the xbmc i wanted to download some homebrew games like half life ect. every time i go to download something i get an error message asking me for a default xde file. im confused by this as i have searched all my directories and cant find anything. i have tried to google this issue and i cant find anything about it. the only results i get are for kodi?? i know its probably a really simple issue and a easy fix but im so new to the platform im not really sure where to start. as the xbox was not modded by me i do not know what files are on there or what is required to download software from the download utility. any help on this would be awesome. thank you all very much :)
  17. So i have a 1.6 or 1.6b xbox and i ordered a mod chip to try modding it. i see every time someone mods an xbox that have this board that they use with it. I don't have that board and want to ask if its possible to mod it without it.
  18. Hello. 1- I installed for the first time an Alladin xt Plus2. When I just plug my Xbox with the Power cable the red light on the chip immediately turns on. Shouldn't turn only when I turn on the Xbox? I am afraid I did smth wrong. The chip works fine anyways. It appears the EVOX logo. 2- Is it normal xbox heats up more than the usual before I installed the chip? The heat sink kinda burns after the chip installation. I changed for a new 250gb hdd. Is that the reason for the heat problem? Should I change the cable for an 80 pins to don't heat up a lot? Thanks.
  19. webwxgetvideo.mp4 It can be boot without hard disk. I can see EVO mark at the left top. And I got the 09 error. If the hard disk was conected. when I reboot the console, The xbox will be frozen at the start-screen. I try to change more cable and hard disk. Still not resolved. Please kindly help me to find this issue root casue.
  20. I messed up. Was fiddling around with configmagic trying to lock the HDD on my chipped Xbox 1.6 so I can transfer and use the HDD on my softmodded Xbox. I followed this guide here: https://www.biline.ca/xbox_uxe_hd2.htm I was able to update the EEPROM as stated and locked the HDD so it can be used on the softmodded Xbox. That worked fine. But now my chipped Xbox turns on but no picture or video whatsoever. I don't know what to do next...
  21. All, I just recently ressurected my old xbox, and upgraded it to a 2tb drive. I had to upgrade the bios on the chip in order to properly have the system see all the new space. I did so by using the hexen disc. So this worked, but now if i use the Xecutor bios, it takes a little over 10 seconds for it to get to the boot animation screen. If i use evox, its a little quicker, but not by that much. Anything i can do to increase the speed? On the old xecutor bios it was instantaneous. Thanks in advance!
  22. Hello Together, I bought an xbox today and planned to do a softmod. When opening the console to remove the clock capacitor, I noticed that a modchip is already installed. Unfortunately, I can't find any information about this chip. Can you help me further? Can I just ignore the chip or should I pay attention to something? Is it possible to simply install a SoftMod ! Thank you for your help !
  23. Hello, I am new to the original Xbox community (Recently picked up a 1.0 and am working on getting it modded) and was wondering if there are any benefits of having a modchip over TSOP Flashing. I know that 1.6 rev. boards need a chip to be hard modded but I've also scene people install LCD's of the front of their chipped consoles, so I was curious as to what kind of info gets displayed on em, and if there are any other chip-exclusive functions.
  24. I Tsop'd and de clock capped a 1.1 Last night after realizing I can't do my other Xbox because its 1.6b? Literally the last batch of Xbox's Produced must be with its Manufacter date 16/08/2005 Ideally I'd like to have this hard modded rather that just Soft because my eyes have been opened. I'm looking for a reputable place to buy a Chip at a decent price and which chip would be the best? I could buy the Aladdin Chip now from here http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/home.php?cat=273 Will this work with the above 1.6b xbox? Edit: Noticed this is an American store and might not deliver to the UK
  25. Just picked up a few xboxes and some extras. Among the extras was an Xbit 1..5 chip. Id like to test it and find out if it works. But im not finding any info on how to install it anywhere. Does anyone have any info on the chip and maybe an install/Flashing guide? would be much appreciated, as this will be my First chip install!!
