  1. Hello, new member on this forum for a day, Xbox original French Fan for a long time, i'm was looking for help try to resurect one of my xbox, and thanks to this forum i did it, reading a lot of ya Thread help me to win my 3 days battle against that console. thanks to all the members . i've subscribe right after, because you are a source of treasure for this console now it's time to feed the beast . cheers all
  2. Hello everyone, I am writing this today to see if anyone would potentially know what the issue is with my Xbox's dvd drive. A little backstory. I got an unopened 1.6 many months ago. The console would give the lovely 07 error, so I figured the hard drive was the problem. I swapped out the hard drive with a known good working hard drive, and chipped the console, and would still get the 07 error. In my quest to repair the xbox, I noticed that the green light was constantly flashing whenever I turned the console on. I swapped out the disc drive and all of the console's problems went away. That brings me to my issue. I currently have a Samsung SDG-605F that stops the console from detecting the hard drive whenever its IDE cable is connected. If I connect only the power cable, the console will open and close the console no problem. When I then connect the IDE cable, the console flashes green constantly and the drive will not respond to the eject button being pressed. I've taken a look at the drive's motherboard and there is nothing that stands out as wrong. My thoughts are that the firmware has gotten partially corrupted, the dram chip on the drive's motherboard is dead, or there are issues with the MediaTek controller on the drive's motherboard. I'm not sure what the issue is. I am hoping that someone here knows what the issue is and what I would need to do to fix it. Thank you for reading through all of this. DobaMuffin
  3. i hard modded a 1.4. i have replaced the clock cap. i still have some stuff to finish up on it and i was wondering if there was any reason to replace the 3300uf and 1500uf caps on it? the xbox seems to work fine so, if i did change them, would there be any benefit?
  4. i've never seen a youtube vid where the smaller capacitors were replaced, only the bigger ones. do the small ones not go bad?
  5. My PS1 set fails to transfer all the games. I think i read somewhere that there is a cap of how many files can fit in a folder. Can i make a second folder for roms like in MAME?
  6. A BIG Hello from to everyone. Old school retro gamer/collector from the UK here. Been gaming since 1978 so i have grew up with all the arcades and consoles. decided to finally dip my feet into the modding world for once. Going to be a big learning curve but i am looking forward to it!
