About Me

  1. I recently acquired this Xbox with a 1.0 board and wanted to try and repair it. After opening it up and cleaning it, I noticed the clock cap hanging on by a thread so I plucked that off. I haven't done anything else to the console and the previous owner doesn't know if it was soft or hard modded. I still get the same error from when I first got it which is described in the title. Below I will attach some photos to show off the condition of the motherboard. Thanks in advance for the help!
  2. From left to right: DVD Ready, DVD Activity, HDD activity, LAN activity. The DVD activity light is separated from the HDD activity light and DVD Ready light is present. How was this done? I know about the HDD activity signal, but that is handled on the right of this little custom housing. The left two LEDs are the ones I am wondering about. I assume it involves tapping onto the DVD ROM drive PCB. @KaosEngineer
  3. I have this listed on ebay for $850 but would sell on Paypal or Venmo for $750 since I wouldn't have to pay fees. The CPU is upgraded to a 1.26 GHz Tualatin, but it overclocks to 1.42 GHz without issue. See ebay listing here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/335333381339
  4. I softmodded a series of XBox OGs in a marathon week but discovered an issue with model v1.6 and dualboot not working. All versions below seemed to work ok. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks
  5. This thread will demonstrate how the xbox jewel can be removed, and in a pair of follow-up posts how a hole for it can be made on the xbox cover, all in a very low-tech manner. I'm not confident enough to call these tutorials, but they may be helpful. First: removing the jewel. I grab a couple feet of dental floss and stuff it under the edge of the jewel with a card or what have you. Then I dribble some rubbing alcohol down there, because in my experience rubbing alcohol acts as a mild solvent on the adhesive pad thingy underneath. Whatever helps. By the way it was another modder, not me, who invented the floss method. I start flossing while keeping the arms of the floss in that letter U shape. I'm going to add more alcohol in a minute and re-position the floss at the other side of the jewel then continue working it. After a while the floss approaches the middle of the jewel and it starts to bind, that's when I add some mineral oil to lubricate everything. Pretty much any type of oil will do though. The whole mess starts to look like this... Getting farther in, the floss wants to bind again despite the oil. I don't want it to snap. I lift one of its arms to a 90 degree angle and slowly work the floss back into action. Eventually the jewel is off. This took maybe 10 minutes.
  6. I’ve been running into issues left and right after swapping from and OpenXenium with the HD+ to Nemesis Xenium. I finally got everything up and running fine and seemingly no issue at all with the swapping. Updated to the latest PrometheOS and HD+ firmware before the swap. I can play around in Prometheos as long as I want, doing FTP, flashing banks, etc. As soon as I load into Cerbios HD I get the normal XBMC login screen, but that’s as far as I can get. It freezes almost every time I attempt to sign in. Once I was able to login, but it froze when I clicked on apps. I’ve done a full reformat and reinstall of everything. Also have made sure I’m running the latest XBMC4Gamers. I was trying UDMA 6 and then tried UDMA 5 on a brand new 2TB HDD, with the same results. Anyone else ever run into something like this? This is happening on my precious Skeleton that I’ve slowly been trying to get done.
  7. ENDGAME 8MB Cerbios Flasher & UX Dash Installer I am posting a mirror of the TSOP flasher utilizing the Endgame exploit. This means that no savegame exploit is necessary. Just a memcard or USB drive with a stock Xbox. Will also Install a basic version of UnleashX to get you started with something. Mega Link: https://mega.nz/file/lzcFBRqb#SdqDkbwJ5qQuD_Md6aXht6shgPiD1A_N27e4X7D8b9o --------------------------------------------------------------------- Use this as a starting point to maybe run the OGXbox installer that Sweet made! Very fully featured and handy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Credit for this flasher/software goes to SweetDarkDestiny. I do NOT take credit for this. https://www.xbox-scene.info/forums/topic/437-endgame-8mb-cerbios-flasher-ux-dash-installer/#comment-833
  8. Everything you see up top for 40 shipped. 2X7 pin header, though... not 2X6.
  9. Darkwatch Launcher What is Darkwatch Launcher? First some background. Darkwatch was released on PS2 and Xbox. The PS2 version has split-screen cooperative campaign. For the Xbox version, they removed split-screen coop in favor of having an Xbox Live mode. Some Russians figured out how to resurrect the coop mode. The discussion can be found here: https://www.emu-land.net/forum/index.php/topic,69320.0.html?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en. The caveat is that the functionality to save/load the coop progress does not exist in the Darkwatch game files. Coop progress is saved (in the RAM) until the system is reset, at which point it restarts at the first level. The solution? Darkwatch has 17 different chapters or levels. By hex editing the default.xbe with a different starting level code, coop progress can be resumed where it was left off. That's where Darkwatch Launcher comes in! I made Darkwatch Launcher with CDX. It gives you the ability to launch Darkwatch with chapter selection for Coop, or you can launch into the original Live-enabled version. So what is Darkwatch Launcher Package? Darkwatch Launcher requires 18 different patched XBE's to function. Darkwatch Launcher Package includes a .BAT script file which generates and patches the 18 different XBE files. It also includes the launcher files and folder structure. NO GAME FILES ARE INCLUDED! You will need to source those yourself. 480p, Widescreen? Darkwatch Launcher Package's patcher script also allows you to patch the game files with a 480p fix and/or widescreen. The 480p fix patch can be found floating around online. The widescreen patches can be found here: http://ps2wide.net/xbox.html. Why? Because I, like many people, search for couch coop games to play with my friends/family. It is scarcely known that Darkwatch can be patched for split-screen coop, and due to the inaccessibility of the patches and the difficulty resuming progress, I believe it is oft ignored. Darkwatch plays like a zombie/vampire western version of Halo. It is worth your time if you are looking for more couch coop FPS experiences. The Xbox version also has advantages over the PS2 version: 480p, widescreen, and in coop, both players play as Jericho, making cutscenes logical. 10. Please help! I have just installed an new 40gb ide hdd and a pc dvd drive (just to get my modded xbox to boot) I put the OGXBOX Cerbio installer dvd into the drive and it booted to the ogxbox menu It recognised taht i had a new HDD and asked if i wanted to format it which i did (i can now see C,E and F drives) I then flashed my alladin modchip v1.6 with the cerbios bio which worked. but when i try to install a dashboard off the dvd it just hangs and wont do anything, just says please wait and empty progress bars. This means the xbox wont boot unless the OGXBOX installer disc is in the drive as there is no dashboard. Have i missed something? What am i doing wrong Thanks in advance for any help.
  11. Hey all! I have a 1.0 that spools up to boot for about 2 seconds and then shuts down. Does that twice and then I can get it to stay powered with a FRAG 50/50 but never has any detectable video output. Not hard modded. I pulled the five Caps by the CPU and they all checked within limits. Clock cap is removed and there is not trace rot. Power supply works normal with other 1.0 boards. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
  12. Hi all, I have recently acquired a hardmodded crystal 1.6 box from a popular online auction website, which has with a 200gb hdd. I opened it up and gave it a good lean as it was pretty disgusting! Literally spiders inside. It has an Aladdin XT hardmod, I don’t know when it was installed. Current dash is EvolutionX V+3935. I had a good poke around in EvoX settings, it states that it has unknown BIOS. Says the same in Xbox BIOS checker 5.0. I can’t see anywhere to backup EEPROM (I read that this is important) – do I need to do this? There are no options that I can find in EvoX that will allow me to backup. There are various apps, including XBMC, Avalaunch, etc. Should I just delete them? If so, how? The app ‘Xenium’ when loaded states “You have a Cloned Fake Xenium” – what does this mean? I assume that the BIOS is out of date and so is the dash. I read that UnleashX and Xbox4Gamers is the best combo to have. How can I update to these please? Thanks in advance all!
  13. Cleaning the house and getting ready to move. Came across miscellaneous OG xbox items as pictured. I used to be into the consoles quite a bit a few years ago, especially for the XBMC capability, but now I don't even have a console. The drives and power supplies were spares, because even back in the day the hardware wasn't 100% bullet proof. I believe they work, but have no way of knowing for sure since I don't have a console. Trying to sell this so it ships out all in one box. I can also sell thru my ebay account which is: and has a 100% rating. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?item=276086163390&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l161211&_ssn=maerickson Edit: Should have mentioned that the caps on the power supplies are all flat.
  14. Hello Xbox friends, I'm about to buy a used Xbox controller but are these original Xbox Series Controllers to use on a PC Or buying just a Xbox 360 wireless controller (I believe it's uses Bluetooth like the Series and One controllers?) will suffice, so I can save money? \ Thank you in advance. God bless, Revelation 21:4
  15. Hi I did mod one of my 1.0s with the stellar hhdplus and the stm works so far sadly "EvoX Titan 128MB HDPlus UDMA4 YD" does only really work if I press eject Cerbios has no problem with booting up, but only shows picture when the hdd has been read. Gruß Edit: I use a cheap U4 adapter.
  16. As the title states, it’s time to get some updated tips on case modding. Im currently looking for newer/cleaner methods of reattaching jewels after clearing them. With all of the new products being available and unexpected uses for others, I’m extremely interested in hearing what you all do and how. I’ve shared a few of my methods here and there, so share some that you think are helpful. Share anything about LED mods, Painting, and so on.
  17. I just removed an Open Xenium modchip I installed a few years ago since I could never get it to work, removed the HDD I was trying to use, and put back in my original HDD that has UnleashX softmod on it so I can just play some games again. Problem is all my games and emulators just vanished. I don't think I am using the wrong HDD because I see my game save files that I remember. How could that stuff just vanish though? I feel like it might still be there but maybe I need to do something else? I boot into Unleash X fine and can navigate around so it seems like everything is working. This HDD was removed before I installed the modchip, the two have never been in contact with one another. Am I screwed? It's nothing I can't get back but it is work.
  18. How do I add the cover art for the games? I have tried and failed. I have tried placing them in the media file and also in the artwork file but nothing works. Do I need to add them in the config settings in the emulator? Thanks
  19. I have for sale a black x3cp and x3 fully tested. It's a spare as I also have a crystal version. 375 I have tg and email Tg 9082836787 [email protected]
  20. So i'm new but not new to this and just got back into it after a very long time away and have been skimming through here and google for help. I recently modded my xbox, installed cerbios and I am using xbmx4gamers dash. I installed the fan art installer and it works for the xbox games but when i go over to the emulators it doesnt show any art work. Is there a specific emulator for these art works to pair with the fan art installer? The only emulators I have installed so far is nestopiax, pcsxbox and snes9box. I have placed those on the E drive with the fan art installer. The games play I just don't have the fan art or cover art for the emulator like I do for the xbox games if I enable fan art. When I disable the fan art it just gives me the generic icons.
  21. Once installed to be able to boot cerbios and retail bios on a 1.6 Do I solder d0 on this lpc rebuild to ground and then the 1.6 point on the OpenXenium chip.
  22. I installed the Origins based image and upgraded to 128MB of RAM. Also added an SPDIF port for digital audio. If you would like it, please make an offer. Thanks guys
  23. Hi all, I've recently bought this adapter , I connected it to the power and the data cables (Seagate SATA 250gb drive 3.5"), inserted Slayer Evox 2.7 DVD, but it stucks a bit into the Xbox splash screen (while showing the pink icon on the top-left, no "Slayer Evox 2.7" appears below the Xbox logo) before giving me Error 16. So I switched back to the old PATA drive, Evox launched correctly, switched the drives (while Evox still running) but : - when I format, it takes ages and returns '0' on each partition - when I try to lock/unlock it freezes (blank text on blue container) - when I try install as new large hdd it takes to formatting - when I try to install just Evox on C it takes weirdly no time (after formatting all partitions took ages as usual). Edit: I just tried, left the console for a while, then returned and as before all partitions shown '0' and when I reboot (thinking the install process was complete) same Error 16 as before, sometimes error 7 So what I'm supposed to do? FYI: the adapter has no "slave/master" thing on it, just the 40 pins and the power ones (but it seems making the hard drive working/sounding).
  24. As mentioned in the title. The xbox restarts 3 times and flashes green and red alternately the third time. The so-called ask. Which can mean anything. The console came from something like eBay and the seller wanted to throw it in the trash because he couldn't fix it. I bought it anyway because it's a crystal. I've been looking for a long time. No capacitors were broken and all voltages were correct. Then I noticed that the lpc was being fried quite badly. After removing the solder from the LPC, I measured it again and there was about 1.5 volts missing at pin 1...or it switched off again very quickly. The same thing happened before the mcpx on the 3.3 volt pad. Well, long story short. I remembered a post by kaos engeneer. On the LPC (pin4) where the 2 vias are, a reset signal is passed along. And it was precisely this track that was torn down by the previous owner. That's why the console couldn't start and switched off the above-mentioned voltages. I repaired this track and everything is back to normal. Maybe it will help someone. Attached is another picture
  25. i opened up my xbox and noticed this modchip and was wondering if it would be causing my issue. it will attempt to power on 3 times and on that third time it will start flashing orange and red.
