Hi guys after succesfully tsop my crystal og xbox 1.4 i was trying to re-install xbmc4gamer and when i try to install it in partition e i get an error of cannot copy D and is not working. Only way i found it to work is if i install it as an app but then im unable to have it on boot Anyone knows why? Forgot to say im using rocky tools extra disk for installing xbmc Thanks

It has been a long time since I softmodded my ogxbox halo special edition. Used to softmod for friends and possibly 20 xboxes passed by my house for softmodding. Looking for what's new in softmodding because I want to finally put a bigger hard drive.

Hello, I have an original Xbox (can't determine which version, looks like 1.4 or 1.5) modded with Aladdin Advance. It worked well until today - I decided to update the bios with EvoX D.6 EjectFix (checksum 74c6235497f474bf88b54b3fc52a20b2). Bin file with it was placed on my HDD so I presumed that it's ok to flash it. After flashing, my Xbox turned off and when I turned it on, it startet to FRAG (two green flashes, then green/red flash with no video). What have I done? How I can undone it?

I updated urldownloader last night, and I don’t know if it hung up on the install or what, but now I’m locked up. When I boot up, I get the same message saying it was updated, with an OK button. I click the button and it goes away but I’m locked up. Not sure what to do.

i pulled my version 1.6 apart about a week ago to change the thermal paste on it. i wasn't able to get the gpu completely clean so i put some new paste on it and reassembled while i waited for my arcti-clean order to get here. the system did great during this time. today, i pulled it apart and cleaned it better this time and reapplied thermal paste. after doing that, i was testing a game(i also serviced the dvd reader) and it froze on me(i thought it was because of the dvd reader). i restarted the console and kept playing. the xbox seemed to do fine for several minutes of playing the game. so i turned my attention to getting the disk tray to function correctly. i was opening it and shutting it multiple times when the system suddenly started glitching graphically. i let it do it for just a few seconds while i wondered what the heck was going on and then i pulled the power cord. when i tried plugging it back in, the xbox started frag'ing. to make a long story short, the point i'm at now is that i can let the system stay unplugged for an hour or so and plug it back in and it will function fine for just a few minutes. after that, it will start graphically glitching or freeze. it will do this with both the dvd/hdd drives installed but also with them both completely removed(including the ide cable). it doesn't appear to be frag'ing anymore and i don't think the processors are getting too hot. none of the caps appear to be bulging. any idea what's wrong with this thing? google is not being very helpful.

i pulled apart my 1.6, cleaned and repasted the the heat sinks, and cleaned and greased the dvd drive. i was cycling the dvd drive trying to get the tray to operate correctly when all of a sudden the system started having weird artifacting on the screen. i turned it off and un plugged it and then plugged it back in and it started frag'ing. what's going on?

I recently took my old xecuter 2 modded 1.4 xbox out of storage and have replaced the drive and removed the clock cap and its working great. The only issue is if i power off for a few mins and then power on I get a blank screen and it wont boot. If i disable the mod chip and go into the normal OS its looking to set the time(fair enough as i removed the cap). Once i set the time and enable the mod chip it boots fine. Is there a way to hard set the time so this doesn't always happen. My UnleashX front end gets the time from the internet correctly anyway. Any help or guidance appreciated guys.

Hey Everyone, weird issue. I got a xbox 1.0 off ebay, it needed a DVD drive, ordered one and installed. System worked fine, I was able to softmod with no issues. I then removed the clock capacitor, fixed 1 trace that was bad for the power button (power/eject button work perfectly now, prior to this, no power button, but eject worked) soldered the 2 points for TSOP write (1 onto of mobo 1 on bottom) and proceeded to tsop flash the system using truhexen 2019.I have a 1.0 so I'm assuming a 1MB TSOP if I understand things I've read online, and loaded a 512kb bios from the hexen disk that was for 1.0-1.5, IRC it was x2. bios with F only, I was only given 4 options, all 4 x2, F and F&G, F 420p & F&G 420p. After the flash, the system rebooted and worked fine. I powered off system, removed the HDD and replaced it with what I wanted to upgrade to, and now all I get is FRAG, put the original drive back in, same thing. it attempts to boot 2 times, then the 3rd time its a FRAG. What might I have done wrong? Thanks everyone in advance! ~John

I have a xbox. I softmodded then removed softmod. All went well. Softmodded with unleashx and later removed. All was fine. Then yesterday went to softmod with sid. In middle of process or at end xbox shuts down like normal. Then turned back on and now red/green flashing ring and video is not working. Any ideas? I have tried letting the clock reset but made a sure not to leave the console off more than about 5 to 10 minutes. I have left it on all night trying to find a solution. I am worried if I unplug it or power it off much longer it may turn into a brick. Any ideas? I loaded and backed up everything correctly. I have 2 video cables and checked that as well and no dice any help would be appreciated. The video im sure went out with the new softmod install. Not sure why. Any help would be appreciated. Id rather fix than throw it at the wall lol.

Hi everyone, my IDE cable upgrade finally come after faffing about trying to get it to fit I get error 09, swapped back to stock IDE boots perfectly. I've attached a screenshot of the cable I used and people in the reviews say it worked for them but I'm not sure there true as the IDE connectors seam the wrong way round. Thanks all for your advice.

Greetings! I am very new to the OG XBOX (both the console and the forums). I have a 1.4v xbox that I have dusted off recently to install Open Xenium chip. The console was a bit dirty, so I gave it a good cleaning, removed the clock capacitor (which had just started to leak), replaced the fan with a Nexus, and installed the new open Xenium chip. The system seems to be running great and immediately boots into the Xenium OS screen when powered on. The problem: no controller inputs are recognized in any of the controller ports (I've tried with four different working controllers). So basically I boot to Xenium OS, but cannot select any of the menu options. (I should also mention that before the Xenium install, everything had been working fine). Now, when this first happened, naturally my thought was that I had not properly reconnected the ports back to the motherboard, but upon checking they seemed to be well connected (I cleaned the ports and reconnected for good measure). I have looked at the traces on the motherboard and they seem fine. I imagine the chip install went okay since I can boot into Xenium OS(?) Port have been cleaned thoroughly. The only thing I have not tried is swapping the 1&2 ports with the 3&4 ports (in case there is a problem with port #1, and Xenium OS will only recognize input from Port #1???) Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? It seems odd that none of the 4 controller ports are working, and all I am left with is an idle Xenium OS screen on my system. Could it be a single bad solder joint on the Xenium chip?Could it be that Port #1 is busted? Thanks for the help!

Hi All, After successfully TSOPing my 1.4 xbox, I can no longer load the Hexen disc. Is this normal? I am running unleash X as my dashboard. I was able to load the Hexen disc to complete my initial TSOP, but not anymore. Any thoughts?

Hello everyone. I've asked this question on FB, but would like to verify with this crowd here. I have softmodded an v1.6 using Rocky5 most recent version. I would like to swap to a 2TB SATA drive. I understand this can be done with a hot swap, cloning the original drive with chimp and then formatting with xb partitioner. Is this correct? Why does this work if the bios is supposed to need LBA-48 to see a large drive? Is it because each partition is small enough to not need LBA-48? Thanks in advance.

Hi I have a PAL 1.6 xbox that I've recently rebuilt the LPC, added a Aladdin xt+2 modchip to and upgraded the hard drive with a larger 2tb. the system runs fine in SD via the standard AV cable (RED/WHITE/YELLOW lead) once I switch the console over to NTSC video settings and reboot the console with a component lead it switches to 1080i or 720p fine but will randomly reboot. Has anybody come across this before and know a fix? Thanks in advance

I'm not really an electronics guy, so bear with me here. 1.6 box, with a DuoX2 chip in it from about 15 years ago. One day a couple of months ago it was DOA, opened it up and the 5 capacitors were shot. Replaced them, with my godawful soldering skills, and it booted up and worked for about 3 minutes, loaded an emulator, then it froze, rebooted, and it powercycles twice and is flashing red/orange. Did I accidently fry something, or jump a connection where I shouldn't have, or cook something during the desoldering (PITA, me not being an electronics guy) or soldering? Is there spots i can look to diagnose a possible issue?

At first I started modding my OG Xbox for fun and preservation. But I really like playing with it. After a Rocky5 softmod (mrmario2011 tutorial), I decided to go TSOP. After tweaking my potention meter, to finally get 1 of the 4 hexen discs to read, and after fixing the dashboard with it. I now have a TSOPPED, 1.0 with 256kb evox m8+ f and g bios and a unleash x dash. In the changelog of the HEXEN2018 disc, it says that every bios is modified to work without disc drive.. But if I disconnect my disk drive, my xbox won't boot into his dash.. So I would like to try to modify my evox m8+ bios myself with evotool to get rid of the dvd check. (to make sure I preserve my og xbox when the drive fails in the future). The only problem is, I can't seem to find the bios files on the internet, and I don't know how to get them off the Hexen dvd.. Anybody got tips. And what is your opinion, should I use ind bios instead? And what's the best way to flash from the hard drive?

Hi guys, After softmodding my xbox with the rocky5 method, it is now time for something new: TSOP. I read a lot of inormation and prepared everything (soldered the points on my ST TSOP 1.0), and decided to go for the Hexen 2018 disc and Evox M8 (F+G) bios). After I succesfully modded my xbox, i would like to unlock the stock hdd. I know that after a TSOP mod you can swap in every blank unlocked hdd. But I can't find what kind of utility I need to use to unlock my original stock hdd..

Hello guys I have upgraded my ram in the xbox and that works flawlessly first i installed the xblast boot os and tested every chip and success. then i installed ind 5003.67 and it works also correct but he did not see the G drive so i format it but still not seeing that partition. I thought maybe i must install the BFM bios but now i think it was for an xbox 1.6 because he wont boot. the xbox turn on then go of twice and then stay on but no screen. Can i reflash the chip? with a pickkit or something other way. Can i fix this? or do i need a new aladdin xt2 chip. and will they boot on an 128mb board with stock bios. I dont know if the xbox run with a not compatible 128gb ram bios or that it will boot but takes only 64mb. thanks for youre time.

Are here any repercussions to that? i did it to prevent leaking but i'd like to know if it needs replacing for some feature or if it was unnecesary.

I installed Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool v1.1.6 on both my v.12 and v1.6. The clock is set to autoset the time /date but it seems to be getting the wrong timezone, and I can't find where to change it. Could it be it needs a different SMTP IP address? I'm on GMT +0 (Lisbon, London).

Hi All, First, my English is khm khm not too good, but I try to explain what is the case. So, I have an Xbox Classic 1.0 which is always turn on when I connect the power cable. It is the first problem, but I can live with it (but if you have an idea why, I will say a big thanks for the answer). Okay, I soldered an Aladdin XT Plus2 in it. It works well, but somehow, the Xbox turned off itself after some minutes. I checked the processors and its cooler and the processor wasn't too hot and cooler worked well. I try to find some other problem, like capacitors or wrong traces but I do not found anything. Anyone has a good idea what can I do with it? :) I'm near to kick out it from window ;) Thank you in advance! BR: Zsolt

I've recently transplanted my failing and old IDE hard drive to a 2tb expansion with new ribbon cable. Also updated Unleash X to latest build. After I finished this I started to play games like Fight Night Round 3 where you cycle through different character bulids and such.. when customizing it looks like my drive is freezing up. I've also noticed that when trying to play emulation front ends like coinops 8 the loading of some of the larger games like Killer Instinct freeze the system as well. Could the corruption of the old drive follow to the new drive? When I did the system transfer the only items I transferred were the eeprom partitions and saves. I was thinking maybe nulling the drive and then reformatting the other partitions might work? But wanted to see if there are any other suggestions. I've also attempted to launch these in xbmc4gamers but this also causes freezing. Not sure if that should be a separate topic or not.
