About Me

  1. Hello! So after some suggestions from people here on the forum, I decided to attempt TSOPing my 1.0 xbox. Now, I haven't soldered for 4-5 years, and haven't touched an xbox since I moved abroad (have now moved back), so I don't remember much about the whole process. Didn't want to wait for flux because it wouldn't arrive for another 3 days, so I did the bridging without it. (Success btw) Now, for the flashing part, I'm wondering what bios you guys would suggest as the chip has a 1mb bank, and which CD you would recommend for setting the whole thing up (Hexen, Slayer etc). I know this is a bunch of NoOb questions, but I haven't been in the scene for a couple years. Looking forward to your replies! - Fixified
  2. i am very strongly considering modding a v1.0 xbox. i want to install every official xbox game that was ever made onto it along with all the patches and dlc. i already have an alladin chip. can y'all give me a quick list of each item that i will need to do this mod and how big of an hdd will i need? thank u.
  3. So when I thought my only possibility for a hardmod in 2020 was an Alladin X2, I decided to TSOP my 1.0 Xbox. That went successfully and it has IND5003.67 which works fine. I then came across someone selling OpenXenium chips with more bells and whistles than Team Xodus released and picked up one. After installing everything and flashing with X2 5035, the TSOP is now doing nothing and I'd like to revert it back to stock however I cannot find anything about the process. Can anyone shed some light on how I need to proceed? Thanks in advance!
  4. Ok I want to install my x3 that is on 1.6 board to a 1.0 board the problem is that the modchip has all the bios flashed to 1.6 is it possible for me to reflash the bios to work on the 1.0 board don’t want to mess anything up
  5. Yesterday I ftp'd Conker Live and Reloaded to my Xbox v.1.0 , however the game doesn't boot up, instead it displays a message saying: "there is a problem with your disc, it may be damaged or dirty". I tried patching the game with ACL in DVD2Xbox but nothing happens, I still get the same error. Is there something more I'm not taking in account?
  6. Hi everyone! I TSOP flashed my Original XBOX 1.0 and everything went great. I put together a video about it to share my experience and help you out with it if it's something you want to do to your XBOX 1.0 or 1.1. Enjoy!
  7. Hi, I just acquired a 1.0 xbox for 10€ , the guy told me that the console wasn't able to read discs, so i try to put a disc on it, it works but painfully , sometime it does (the loading time takes a long time, and the boot aswell), sometime it just don't (it goes to the ms dash like there is no disc on it), but i decided to hardmod it anyway since i'm not planing to use the dvd drive (already have all of my backups on my other xboxes). I first softmoded it with the splinter cell exploit, then i solder the bridges to flash a 256bits EVOX M8+ (F and G) bios with the hexen disc ( i wasn't sure if the 512bits was the one to choose or not), i installed an 250gb HDD from another xbox that was hardmoded aswell, but didn't bother to format it, since it has the same configuration. I made i backup of the eeprom just in case, installed XBMC4gamers, tried some games and emulators, and so far so good. BUT, once i'm in a game and want to go back to my main dash (XBMC4gamers), the console has this weird behavior, the led are blikning green, i can hear the dvd drive spin two times, while the console reboot, it has the microsoft logo, then it restart again to finally come to my main dash. Basically it's take just a little bit longer, so it's not like she didn't reboot at all, but still, it's quite annoying.. And it only does that with XBMC4gamers, as for Unleashx it's just reboot the console like she normally would. I tried to clean the hdd, by removing the xbmc folders to avoid any conflict, but that didn't change anything Any ideas why it does that? Cheers
  8. Hello everyone, first off all, excuse for my English as I am Brazilian I just got an Og Xbox 1.0 with Xecuter2 and I'm still learning a lot about this beauty but I have a problem and maybe someone here can help me. I was browsing the forum but found nothing on this specific matter. The Xbox works fine except for one thing: the controller keeps disconnecting. It came with some 3rd party controllers and an adapter for PS2 controllers, so no original controller for me. The funny thing is that when it disconnects I only can make it work again when I wrap the cable around the controller and make my way unpluging and pluging it back. Someone told me that it could be caused by a faulty cable on the controllers but I checked the cables with a multimeter and they appear to work fine. The PS2 adapter sometimes work and sometimes do not work, but the LED on the adapter is always on. I also disassembled the box for cleaning and to take off the clock capacitor (that was leaked btw), time when I also checked the daughterboard to see if it was faulty, and it was not. Given the situation, I can only think of two options: 1. the 3rd party controllers and adapter are really crappy and don't work fine with the console and I should get an original controller; or 2. my daughterboard is defective and should be replaced. I don't think there's a software problem here but since all things related to Og Xbox are completely new to me, I can be wrong. Anyways, the help I want/need is to try to find a way to discover the problem since Og Xbox parts or controllers are really not easy or cheap to find in Brazil... Cheers
  9. Hey Everyone, I just recently got a xbox 1.6 in great shape! super clean and a like new shell. I installed OpenXenium chip inside, upgraded the drive to a 2TB SATA (may go to a 500GB IDE I have hanging around maybe) upgraded to a 80 wire IDE, and it works well, only issue is. The DVD drive is DOA. I found it cheaper to buy another xbox for parts than a working/tested drive on ebay. So I paid $5 +SH for another xbox. This one was listed AS IS and not working, case was fair shape. I got it, it's a version 1.0 and seems to work just fine, the DVD drive works as it should. I placed it into my 1.6 and it's fine. Question now is... do I keep the 1.6 xbox as is and call it a day? or should I move the modchip (it's only plug and play really, just gotta solder new header pins to the 1.0 xbox) to the 1.0 xbox? should I go with the 500GB IDE or 2TB SATA? could I move the heatsink from the 1.6 to the 1.0GPU to get rid of the fan on the GPU cooler on the 1.0? and I would assume the system shell is universal and I could use it either way. With the parts I have, what can I do to make the best xbox I could? Thanks everyone! ~John
  10. Hey Everyone, weird issue. I got a xbox 1.0 off ebay, it needed a DVD drive, ordered one and installed. System worked fine, I was able to softmod with no issues. I then removed the clock capacitor, fixed 1 trace that was bad for the power button (power/eject button work perfectly now, prior to this, no power button, but eject worked) soldered the 2 points for TSOP write (1 onto of mobo 1 on bottom) and proceeded to tsop flash the system using truhexen 2019.I have a 1.0 so I'm assuming a 1MB TSOP if I understand things I've read online, and loaded a 512kb bios from the hexen disk that was for 1.0-1.5, IRC it was x2. bios with F only, I was only given 4 options, all 4 x2, F and F&G, F 420p & F&G 420p. After the flash, the system rebooted and worked fine. I powered off system, removed the HDD and replaced it with what I wanted to upgrade to, and now all I get is FRAG, put the original drive back in, same thing. it attempts to boot 2 times, then the 3rd time its a FRAG. What might I have done wrong? Thanks everyone in advance! ~John
  11. Purchased a Xbox V 1.0 that has the Xecuter X3 mod chip, unit wouldn't even boot at time i received it ( sorry been otta this for like forever and just getting back into it ). After numerous trials and errors i finally got it to boot up, switch configuration on front. Anyways seems like its missing the backup that should be on the mod chip itself, doesn't seem to matter what i try cannot find it, other problem is it only stays on maybe 45 mins and shuts down, i think its a power supply issue, going to try another power supply this weekend since i do have a good replacement for this version. Other issues is cannot turn unit on with power button, only with the eject button, also another weird issue is when its first plugged in it comes on without touching any button on the front, lots of strange issues going on here, maybe someone may have a bit of insight to help resolve these problems. First thing i did was remove clock cap, had leaked a little but not bad at all, area around it got a very good cleaning and looks great
  12. I have an Xbox 1.0. I have an Xecuter 2.3B Lite+ mod chip (solderless with the pogo pins). It was working fine both with or without the mod chip, however I was keen on changing this to a TSOP as the d0 pogo pin can sometimes move out of position causing 3 boots then FRAG (Christmas Lights). Through a combination of bad skill, a bad iron, and bad solder; I managed to lift all of the solder pads in question (R7D3 and R7R3), plus one of the alternate solder points to R7D3. See the attached images of the board with the lifted pads highlighted. Now without a mod chip, it Christmas Lights. I wasn't expecting this as I thought lifting the solder pads wouldn't actually cause any issues (since they are all at the end of a trace rather than in the middle), just prevent me from performing a TSOP. With the mod chip it still works fine. Also strangely if the mod chip is switched to Disabled, it now boots the mod chip. My understanding is that this indicates there is something so screwed with the TSOP that it's booting from LPC even without d0 being grounded. I'm wondering if there is anything that can be done to repair the TSOP here? I have checked every trace I can in the vicinity with a multimeter and they all seem to have continuity. The R7D2 resistor seems to still be connected just fine. There are a few traces I can't really check as they go under the Nvidia chip. Or am I best to give up on the TSOP and get an Aladdin XT-4032?
  13. Hi I'm after a bit of help; my Xbox 1.0 just crashed during a bios flash (I was using HeXen 2018) My Xbox will no longer boot (HD Error 05) and I don't have the adapter to flash my modchip on my PC. Unfortunately I can't even recall what my modchip is, and I've long since lost the PC (Parallel?) adaptor it came with. I've included a picture of the modchip, in case anyone remembers what it is. Should I buy a new modchip? My soldering skills are not great so if there is any way of salvaging this solderers chip I'd be grateful.
  14. Hi, so short i tried tsop. Solder points on 1.0 xbox and when i put my hexen 2018 copy it boots but can't flash anything. If i try to install application i just got error code 3 from hexen. If i try to open tsop flash tools it just stuck on loading/copying files. I tried to check with bios checker but it will not boot and xbox boots back to dashboard. So are this is my soldering is bad or what? Added mobo and hexen info (i can add more info latter, sry for not clean photo it's was best i have to see chips)
  15. My Thomson drive is apparently dead even after pot tweaking, it doesn't read. Wondering if there's a market to sell the rest of the parts, or if I should just donate it or something. It's a 1.0 system based on serial number and mfg date. I'm aware of the classifieds section on here but wanted to see if there would even be any interest in something like this before posting there.
  16. I have a 1.0 Xbox that has the dreaded "Christmas Lights" flashing on the eject button. It tries to boot twice before doing its signature Red and Green flashing. Nothing is displayed on the TV so no codes are provided. It also makes a terrible noise when it fails to boot up. After tearing it down completely, cleaning everything top to bottom, removing the clock capacitor (which did not leak thank god), opening and inspecting the DVD drive then hooking everything back up I'm about 99% sure the condition and noise is being caused by a faulty HDD. My question is, assuming my diagnosis is correct, if I bought a SATA HDD (with the proper cables and converter) and installed an Aladdin XT Plus2 Modchip inside would it bring this Xbox back to life? Again, the theory is that the original HDD took a shat so I'm not worried about the DVD drive or motherboard. If there are any other steps I should take (EXCEPT softmodding and replacing the whole console) please let me know. If you require any other information I can also provide it for you. Thank you for your time and help on the matter!
  17. I have a 1.0 xbox that was working perfectly up until the sound output quit. I have tried different cables, different TVs but...nothing. I'm thinking hardware issue...does anybody have suggestions for where on the motherboard I should start looking? Thanks.
  18. Hello, I was flashing the xbox version of the tsop 256 kb with the plug, half finished the process and after this the screen is black. I installed the xchanger chip, the console works, is there any chance to repair the tsop? Regards
  19. looking to buy 1.0-1.1 xbox motherboard with 128mb 1.4ghz cpu upgrade will pay a good price and shipping..All i need is the motherboard with a TSOP mod on it
  20. I had a successfully flashed 1.0 mobo with an X2 BIOS. I got a little curious and flashed the X3 3294 BIOS and now my console wont turn on. Light turns green, fans spin and then immediately turn off. Honestly, I kinda expected it. But what are my recovery options? I know I can install a modchip on top of it, but I don't want to fork out an arm and a leg for a good one. Theres some cheap ones on ebay right now for about $5 and I'm curious if I buy one, install it and go to reflash, how do I get it to flash the mobo TSOP and not the modchip? Thanks for reading.
  21. I have a 1.0 version motherboard. I just did a tsop mod to it.. Actually I had another 1.0 motherboard that I bricked by flashing a bios from the xbox autoinstaller disk it was the 1mb x3 bios that bricked the board and I do not want to make that same mistake again any one got any bios recommendations. At the moment I have the evo from hexon 2018 disk f and g
  22. I have been working on my first moded xbox i Tsops flashed ind bios on it and all went well next i was working on a HDD Chimp would lock up every time the new drive was plunged in so i went to format it useing HEXEN 2017 it did finish the format when i boot this drive i get to a Black screen no errors and i can reboot hexen tried it 2 times last night any ideals of what i can do info on this hdd its on the list for 1.6 with 80 cables i figured it would work on a 1.0 with tsop and 80 cables its SATA have a converter with compactors and a jumper and padding on back im at a Total loss at this point
  23. Can someone please confirm that only the Pads at R7D3 (on the top of the board) and the Pads at R7R3 (on the bottom of the board) need to be soldered and there is no jumper wire or other modifications needed if the TSOP is a Winbond TSOP and not a Sharp TSOP.
