There is no RROD (Red Ring of Death) on a original Xbox. It's called FRAG - Flashing Red and Green. Do you have an Xbox 360 or an original Xbox? If original Xbox, which version is it? How is it modded? softmod or hardmod installed. Which particular mod version? Softmod Installer Deluxe (SID x.x) or other softmod? Which version? If hardmodded, which chip and BIOS are installed?
  2. X3 3294 BIOS download When powering on the console, use a short power button tap so the X3 is enabled. If it's too long, the X3 modchip will be disabled. Does it have the X3 switchboard installed: If so, when powering on the console, is the X3 logo backlighting RED (modchip disabled) or BLUE (modchip enabled)? Also, when powering on the console, hold the White button until the X3 Config Live menu appears.
  3. I thought that was white - the Xenium ICE version of the modchip. Oh well, it's a Xenium! You have one of the RGB LED boards too. Nice.
  4. I suggest bypassing the trace entirely. Add a new wire that runs from after the pull-up resistor from the via on top of the board to the appropriate pin on the PIC processor. Connect a 30AWG insulated wire from the violet colored via on the front edge of the motherboard (bottom section of picture) to the PIC processor's pin 18 (also marked in violet).
  5. As for powering down after 45 minutes, does the eject ring start flashing orange and the cooling fan speed up? Signs of overheating condition detected by the SMC. If the temperatures don't go down, the SMC will power off the console.
  6. Trace rot or corrosion of the traces on the front edge on the bottom of the motherboard causes power on when AC plugged in and other issues. There are 4 very thing traces that run along the edge of the motherboard. These carry the power, eject along with red and green front panel eject ring LED control signals to/from the System Management Controller (SMC) - a PIC processor.
  7. Beige, you mean gold. I've seen blue, white and gold. Post a picture please. Wayback Machine's capture of the Xenium Pin Header Installation Manual and Troubleshooting guide (PDF format). Troubleshooting is not for the modchip though but Xbox error number information. Update: Xenium-OS 2.0 User Manual Xenium gold edition solderless kit
  8. Here's another reddit thread on a problem but fix was to use XBlast OS XBE version and netflash option. No need to first FTP the BIOS dot bin file to the Xbox. However, you do still need to have the BIOS file on your PC. Which BIOS do you want to use? There are several on the Hexen 2018 disc.
  9. Using the XBE version of XBlastOS v0.56 is easier than working with Hexen 2018 to flash a Winbond TSOP. However, you still need to extract the BIOS dot bin files from the Hexen 2018 disc image to use with it. Do as Rocky5 said. Run NKPatcher then FTP those files to a folder you create - C:\BIOS.
  10. Found it on reddit.com/r/originalXbox - It was a problem with using the XBE version of the Xblast OS, not Hexen, to flash the BIOS. JCRocky5's (aka @Rocky5) comment: posted 3 months ago Load NKPatcher Settings then FTP the bios folder to C run xblastos and flash away. ShadowC partition is why it’s not working for you. Xblastos bypasses it. So it can read the file on the shadowc partition.
  11. Before you proceed, I need to check on something! Please, wait for my next post. There was something about not finding the C:\BIOS\bios.bin file and Rocky5 had posted how to fix that issue. I need to find it.
  12. Hexen 2018's content can be uploaded to a folder on the Xbox's hard drive and executed. Start it using the root.xbe file, not default.xbe, found in the root of the extracted XISO disc image content. Qwix v1.0.1 or C-Xbox Tool v2.0.x [x = 6 or 7 for the latest release] (look for them in ogXbox's Downloads section, the xbins FTP server or at least two web sites that have these files available online) can be used to extract and upload via FTP the content to the Xbox all in one step. No need to first extract the files and save them to a folder on the PC then FTP them to the Xbox. Either of these two apps does that all in operation. Since you have a Winbond brand TSOP flash memory chip on your motherboard, use Hexen 2018's Winbond flashing menu option to step you through the software side of the TSOP operation. You also need to solder a couple of bridge points on the motherboard to enable writing to the memory chip. Read the following thread here at OGXbox.com:
  13. Here's a possible fix. You were able to boot a different bank's BIOS to run a replacement dashboard? If so, extract and upload the folder and content (default.xbe) from the attached archive. This Xbox application clears the X3 modchip's EEPROM settings. Some version's of the X3 BIOS had a password bug where once you set a password you could not get back into X3 Config Live using the password you set. IIRC, X3 Config Live did not set the password you entered but used a default value no matter what you entered (I can't remember the default value it used - I'll have to try and find it.) This app cleared all the X3's settings not just the password. Any user-defined settings were set back to the default values along with no password. x3_eeprom_erase.rar
  14. Is the controller connected to port 1? I don't think that matters but ... Another thing I'll test and let you know what I find. Update: Which port the controller is connected to doesn't matter. I checked your posted dot bin file's MD5 hash to Team Xecuter's distro: ShinGoutetsu's X3 BIOS MD5 hash: BCB4681087626FC4ACEEC1D4E663525C Team Xecuter's X3 v16 MD5 hash: BCB4681087626FC4ACEEC1D4E663525C The same. It's not the BIOS. It must be the settings saved on the X3 chip itself.
  15. The X3 BIOS is a modified Xbox BIOS and OS (X3 Config Live) all in one. It does not require a different BIOS to be flashed to another bank. Some modchips, Xenium and SmartXX to name a few, do have their own OS that runs the chip and provides additional features - FTP server, hard drive tools, flashing tools, EEPROM tools, etc. These also require you to flash a modified Xbox BIOS and select it or have it set to autostart/boot to run Xbox apps (games).
  16. Found this bit of info on the Wayback Machine - http://web.archive.org/web/20050323121849fw_/http://home.comcast.net/~x3guide/Old/BIOSFAQ.htm Question: How do I change the "Xecuter Rox My Box" logo at startup? Answer: The Xecuter 3 will load a custom image from your XBOX's E drive named x3logo.bmp if you wish to add a little pizzazz. To do this, do the following: 1. Open MS-Paint 2. Hit Ctrl-E and enter 180 for the width and 50 for the height 3. From here create whatever type of logo you wish 4. Hit Ctrl-S to save the image. Type in "x3logo.bmp" without quotes. 5. Change the type from "24Bit Bitmap" to "256 Color Bitmap". 6. OK to the error. 7. FTP into your XBOX via EvoX/X3 Config Live/Avalaunch and place the image in the root of the E drive. This is what it should look like: The attached x3logo.bmp is jet black and will clear off the logo. x3logo.bmp
  17. It could be looking for an xbe file in the root of the C, D, E or F drive. I'm not sure it knows about Partition7 - the G drive. Update: I'll have to test booting an xbe file from the G drive and post the results with my findings.
  18. What controller are you using with the console? Hold the White button from right after you turn on the console until the X3 Config Live main screen appears. I don't believe it's just a one button press after startup. You have to hold it until the menu pops up. Can you post the X3 3294 BIOS's dot bin file that you flashed? I'll flash it to my X3 modchip and see what happens.
  19. How is your Xbox modded? If Softmodded, which softmod package did you use. If Hardmodded, which BIOS is being used.
  20. tHc Autoinstaller is available to VIP members of another Xbox web site - xbox-hq.com.
  21. Again, it's a bug in the UnleashX FTP server of v0.39.0528A Build 584. Widening the column only shows you the entire content of it. It doesn't fix the bug. You have to either replace the UnleashX dashboard with an older version v0.39.0222A Build 572 or Rocky5's hex edit patched version of Build 584. Only the default.xbe file of your UnleashX dashboard install has to be replaced. You can find where the UnleashX dashboard is running from in the System Info page - press the (Y) button when at a menu to display it. (https://imgur.com/Yvt0Q2b) Or, you can manually enter /c/, /e/, etc. in the Remote Site: box above the Xbox directory listing to enter a drive partition/letter on the Xbox to browse its content. Once inside a drive, double clicking on a folder works to enter that folder. However, once you back up to the top-level with the garbage date / drive list, you again have to key-in the path to enter a different drive letter.
  22. No, the X3 BIOS's are only for the X3 modchip. There is an earlier version that's been modded to allow it to work on other modchips but X3 Config Live cannot be used - one of the whole points of having the X3 modchip and X3 BIOS. The Xenium OS, XOS, 2.3.1 has a similar feature set to that of the X3 BIOS.
  23. The X3 3294 BIOS is for the X3 modchip not any other.
  24. That skin is included in My Top 10 UnleashX Skin picks. (at least the basis of it - @Danthuyer has modded it. I believe it's Tazorax. There's the unmodded version and one where I added displaying G's free space.
  25. The drive still requires customer firmware to be flashed to it. The adapter allows you to connect the drive to the Xbox's DVD power/signal cable and takes signals from the 8164B drive and converts them to what the Xbox's System Management expects to see.
