  1. Thats because when you ground the d0, you tell the xbox to boot from the modchip and not the onboard bios
  2. That sound is your power supply(it does that when it powers off too fast when powered on). About the frag,i am going to tell you something similar that happened to me. I once wanted to add a fan on the gpu haeatsink(the passive one, without the fan on it)to make it cooler. I did, but the dvd drive was pushing on it when closing the chassis and after some days i started having this issue(frag, but after some attempts it boots normally). I removed the fan and it was fine again. So my guess for both of us is a cracked solder join. When it is cold, there is no connection and with all these attemps, the solder gets warm(expanding in the proccess)and then it makes connection. My suggestion here it to do a full reflow off the motherboard from both sides and check if that fixes the problem. Have a nice day
  3. Around 50-60 CPU Around 40-50 GPU If you have messed with the fan and/or the fan speed, the temperatures will vary
  4. I have 5 xboxes and all of them accept the overclocks fine. They are versions 1.1 1.2 1.4 and 1.6
  5. Will an LED or resistor draw more power from the board than the capacitor would? If no, then thats a very good solution
  6. Cut the Lframe and add a switch between the 2 cuted terminals. That way you can disable\enable it as you wish
  7. I measured mine with a meter and it is consuming 50-70 watts(I use an ssd so with a harddisc it would be more)
  8. You can use a 40mm pc fan. Thats what i use
  9. You need an application called "DeXbe"
  10. This is the one i use in all 4 of my xboxes. 1 of them needed the 80pin cable to work for some reasson. All others have the 40 pin https://www.ebay.com/itm/394224993298?hash=item5bc9a40412:g:6wYAAOSwebdckzI~&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoPxfBdK2NPwokGwb4rpmVDTi%2BhtLZ8LqmBcKNHaLKvFltF7DuwvdR15L7sEJCAOQzSGrtv8V617L94fK3xfl8PXw8WQ7CXPc62ADXxsKNs7V1RQNBCYYcTFxPsR6PyOzVmcEYGr5I9oir6g9A%2Bg7i16%2FiXjypWyISqCIkyMD%2FDh%2BFa9pB3cSadZZYujyVkvVi8ZqeDbtB7qAb9IMOIu3Z%2Bo%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9CP6JmuYQ
  11. Is this even more expensive that some green cheap ones that you can find in china? I buy the for 5$ each and they work without problems or latency
  12. If the noise doesnt bother you, then the stock fan is the fastest and most efficient fan you can find
  13. I would be really interented in that, if there would be a way to reassemble the xbox with the dvd drive inside afterwards
  14. The bottom of the shield gets warm. The sides are were its cool(From where the air comes in). And of course i didnt mean that the difference will be big, i only wanted to say that it does make a difference, even a tiny one.
  15. It also cools the incoming air down. When the air hits the cold shield it gets cooler, making more work on the warm components inside. It also acts like a heatsing since it makes contact with both the motherboard and the psu from the bottom side, absorbing their heat. I also dont like someone naming myself "paranoid" after i only said my opinion
  16. Never remove the shield from the box. Doing so will harm the airflow direction, increasing temperatures in the proccess
  17. 2.5Amps at what volts? If its more than 5,then dont do it since you are gonna exceed the wattage limits the xbox psu can deliver, destroying it in the proccess
  18. Wow,it reads really fast too,you are lucky. About the grinding noise,i would recommend you adding a washer to each screw on the cover of the dvd drive from the inside. This way you will get rid of the noise and will help your drive to never get stuck because of the magnets again. But use thin washers, otherwise the dvd may not be well sandwiched inside wich will cause it to slip
  19. Thats what i am saying and when the onboard bios is trying to be loaded, the xbox gives problems. That sounds like a bad onboard chip for me
  20. What i can tell from your situation,is that you may have a faulty/empty onboard Bios chip and whenever the xbox tries to boot from there,it makes these problems
  21. Every xbox has its own overclock limit,so what works for me,may not work for you. You must try "xboverclock" yourself to find your xbox's limits. Once you do it,you will have to patch your games to run at your new cpu speed, otherwise your games will run faster than normal. You will only gain 2-3 fps wich is not worth in my opinion. Good luck and have a nice day
  22. What Brand is this power supply? I can measure on mine too if i have the same brand
