  1. Softmod. Boots to soft-mod main menu.
  2. Is there a way to set up a soft-mod so that the Xbox boots directly to the game directory?
  3. Yep, that's what I do. Just fold back the side of the foot that reveals the screw. Back out the screw, and lay the foot back down. Done deal. Now, if someone could find a super secret method for getting those two middle screws out without touching the stickers.....THAT would be something
  4. Trust me, you don't want it. All of the screw posts in that green shell are broken.
  5. Other than the fact that it doesn't work? LOL There's no major cosmetic damage that I can see. I'm sure it's just a cord issue. 90% of the controllers I fixed this weekend (about 2 dozen of them) were all that way. I'm just too lazy to get these last few done. Besides, I have more than enough spares now to go with the boxes I'll be selling.
  6. If you're talking about the one listed for $349.99, it's a decent deal. It comes with some pretty heavy hitters for games, and the console looks pretty good. You should expect to pay a minimum of $250 for a good condition Mt Dew box these days, without any goodies.
  7. I've just spent the better part of a weekend doing Xbox controller repairs, and my hands are killing me. I've repaired enough, it's time to let the rest of these go. Here we have what's left of my repair pile - 6 S-controllers, and three 3rd party controllers. None of them work properly. Most of them just need cord repair. Some of them have been opened. The green one is pretty much trashed. There's enough meat left on the bones left here to make at least 3-6 working controllers, depending on how much repair you want to do. $25 shipped CONUS via USPS Priority Mail Large Flat rate box. Thanks for looking!
  8. Okay, I have successfully flashed my first Sharp bios. Funny story, I didn't even know these were rare until after I was already done. This was simply the first console in a stack of a half dozen or so I had to do tonight. I just googled how to flash a sharp tsop and away I went. I was never able to get a proper disc working for use with the Eurasia tool. I ended up using the Hexen disc to flash it. I had to manually copy over the 1mb bios file over using the file manager inside Hexen first, then it was pretty much straight forward after that. Fun fact: Gentoox didn't like my 1st party S-controller at first. Found out it was the USB stick I had plugged into it. (my controller has a usb socket wired into one of the memory card slots, where I keep my softmod files on a thumb drive). Once I removed it. Gentoox worked just fine. I have one more version 1.1 motherboard with a Sharp TSOP bios chip on it, if anyone else would like it. It's not modded yet. I'd be happy to trade it with someone for another motherboard and some additional value - maybe a 128mb memory upgraded mobo?
  9. I'll grab Hexen from the "Downloads" page, and read from the top.
  10. Hi all, new member here from Osceola, WI. 40 minutes east of Minneapolis / St Paul. Mostly fix and repair, very rarely play. I'm friends with a local video game store who gives me lots of unwanted / broken systems. I've modded dozens of Xboxes, fixed several. Figured I'd join the forums to keep tabs on some of the OG stuff since most of the older sites are seeing lots of broken links.
  11. Looks like linked photos are broken. Can we can get some local hosted photos, please?
