Brand new sealed, bargain price of £10
-
I was thinking more along the lines of bending some already springy metal, many years ago I made a metal clip to keep a solenoid secure in a diesel pump, granted it wasn't an xbox heatsink but it did the job, not pretty but..... ok im a bodger.
-
it wold probably be easier to fabricate a working replacement 'clip' from metal

the resistor fix works! my resistors turned up this morning, good job i ordered 100 coz the first one i opened pinged off somewhere and vanished, but yeah the fix works!!, so ive got enough resistors to do another 98
-
Well im gonna try it too, ive found the adapters out and R4 is empty on them so ive ordered 100 x 100 ohm surface mounted for the grand price of £1.60 delivered, we shall see!
-
I had this exact issue with some 'm03c' cheapo adapters a while back (and i posted on here about it), never did get it sorted and ive still got the adapters somewhere, so if you do get it sorted please post how!
-
I ordered 5 x jp103's from AliExpress and ALL were dead on arrival, soldering was shocking, one even had a surface mounted resistor missing, seller refunded me but still a bit peeved as I had used them with quite a high success rate before this

i know yeah i did see that but i thought if they were gonna snag the x3 they would have taken the front board aswell so I'm quietly confident lol, i will report back when they arrive -

yep just lists as no power / red light but not too fussed as long as that x3 is sitting in there when they arrive lol -
check the top xbox! yeah they are listed as faulty but gotta be worth the risk!!
-
fair play for giving it a go, its something ive wanted to try for a long while but i need a better soldering iron for a start!
-
i still have the M03C adapters i was talking about in this old post: they work fine but there is a 40ish second delay from cerbios splash screen to xbmc4gamers loading up, so this is down to UDMA? they boot fine without dvd drive attached so whats the score? no way of sorting it in cerbios or anything?

Xbox 1.0 , "Your Xbox requires service" with no error code
bolofski replied to Galindrada's topic in Repair
ah, that error screen! as far as im aware that one never displays numbers, could be anything, failed update / corruption even. i would probably hard mod and build a new hard drive and see from there -

weird one, have you tried changing stuff like screen mode ntsc/pal settings, maybe a region setting thing or something? -
Ok so a few years back I attempted to flash this and killed it somehow, that's all I can remember, I do recall trying a few things at the time to revive it but no luck, luckily the consoles HD was stock so I removed the chip and TSOP'd, the switchbank is still stuck to a faceplate and it even has the x3 holographic sticker Also the D0/LAN/HDD wire is present but not pictured (I found it after I took the pics) NOTE: THIS IS NOT WORKING - IT MAY / MAY NOT BE FIXABLE!
-
I would probably do the full trace rot repair first just to make sure the lines are good, especially if you say there was a problem with one of them
-
worked a treat, shorted the points to the chassis, booted ogxbox disk then used xblast to flash instead of gentoox, thanks for the advice
-
Jumping on this post as I have just rescued a bad flash 1.1 (exactly same prob as above, flashed with 256k cerbios) by attaching the 2 jumper wires (a18 & a19) to the resistor shown, so my question is now is can I flash a 1mb cerbios file or do these jumper wires now have to stay there and I just continue using like that?
