    Aladdin Mod Chip

Any reason for wanting the MS BIOS Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  2. Simple switch back to the X2-5053 bios. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  3. You can Split the BIOS on a version 1.0-1.1 as they have a 1meg chip and make 2 X 512kb or 4 X 256kb and with the 1.2-1.4 have a 256kb chip so one bios only. You could do a duel boot on a 256kb board by flashing the on board with one bios then fit a Aladdin chip with a second bios. But 75% plus of people only ever use the one bios. I get mine from EvilBay or Aliexperess 5 at a time and you will find the Aladdin_Plus chip are all the same and you can reflash them if you want. If your wanting a Open Xenium search FleeBay. As for Wifi I have seen some conversions but not something i would need as my Xbox's has a hardwired network conection HDMI I use N64 freaks kit that replaces the OE av connector and did my 1st internal Wii2HDMI conversion last night witch seem to be working well. The internal HDMI is not for a beginner soldering. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  4. What SATA to IDE adapter and are you using an 80way cable. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  5. And yes the jewel is upside down it was just sat there for the pic.
  6. Hello xasapricky It will be a version 1.4 as no one has ever seen a 1.5 Your choice of mod chip is like the Chevy versus Ford thing.. It will depend on what your planing to get out of your Xbox. On the version 1.0-1.4 the TSOP(BIOS) chip can be reprogrammed to do the same job as a basic mod chip. The Aladdin chip or the reprogramming will do the same job if your planing on just fitting a big hard drive and loading it up with games. The Open Xenium and others have there own boot loader that can be used to enable several different BIOS's and EEprom editing etc etc, Stuff that 75% of users won't/don't use anyway. With you choice of hard drive it's your call I would say stay away from the green type/power saving ones and it won't matter if the drive can't be locked as with a chip/refashed TSOP it doesn't need to be locked, I use the WD Black version's for the 1tb and 2tb. Here I have a Version 1.6 with a X3CP and a 2tb hard drive also a version 1.2 with a TSOP Flash and a 750gb HDD and a Version 1.6 with an Aladdin chip and a 500gb drive, I am also putting together a 1.4 with 128meg ram HDMI out and a 2Tb HDD. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  7. Funny that Hexen leaving it's crap every where That's why I don't use Hexen. Format the drive 's and use either Slayers or TRUhexen to do the install And chuck the hexen 2018/2019 disk in the bin Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  8. It sound like the drive is locked to the other Xbox with a Null key and the version still has the key from the OE drive or the mod chip in the version 1.6 is looking in the wrong spot Try putting the non working drive in the 1.6 and boot the Xbox with your Install disk in the drive and see if you can set it up as a new drive? Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  9. Are you sure it's softmodded? Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  10. What do you mean not recognized? not booting? Are you using a 80 way cable? Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  11. It's a bit ruff but it was 1am when I did that as I had a need to be able to use composite or HDMI The only small issue is if you have the Stock lead plugged in and try to use the HDMI the picture is black and white. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  12. This is how I switch from the stock and HDMI You grab any NPN transistor and a 10k resistor Pin 9 of the AV port to the 10k resistor he other side of the resistor to the Base of the transistor Pin 13 of the AV port to the collector of the transistor Ground the base of the transistor Add a link to pin 11 and 12 on the AV port To use it Without the composite cable(stock video lead) connected it outputs component to the HDMI adapter(wii2hdmi). When you plug a lead into the AV port it switches to composite/Svideo output. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  13. That's the same as my version 1.4 and the points on the PIC IC would be the same on 1.0-1.4. If you have a version 1.5 then it's probably worth a $10,000 as yet no one involved in the OG Xbox scene has seen one. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  14. I did watch the video and it has me not sure of the problem I an still leaning towards the power filter cap or the power supply board. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  15. Can you post a pic of the main board? And is it the same timing ie 2 minutes every time or dose it very.? I am leaning to Bad power filter caps near the heat sink or bad solder joints on the power supply assembly It could also be over heating from the fan not working but you would normally get some flashing lights here is also a small chance the HDD is failing So get snapping with your camera and include both sides and the power supply as well. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  16. Yes for the soft mod to work the drive needs to be locked. A TSOP flashed /Mod-chip Xbox will work with a locked or unlocked but I unlock them just in case of main board failure then you can easily put the HDD in a different hard modded Xbox or put it a PC and use it in that. The HDD key can be shorter as I have seen “XBOXSCENE” or “TEAMASSEMBLY” used as well. Some HDD's have master passwords that may work as well WESTERN DIGITAL -> “WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWD” SEAGATE -> “Seagate” +25 spaces Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. 17. A locked drive has a unique key that's generated using the MB serial number and the hard drive serial number. You can Null the drive and main board and that will make the key 32 zero's that way you know the key number but the drive will re-lock each time the power is removed or you can read the HDD key from the EEprom. I always unlock the drive as soon as the locking is not needed then that way there is no need for the key. The only time I use locked drive is to boot the MS bios in order to load a game save hack to reflash the TSOP. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  18. Error 6 id the drive not locked to the main board Error 21 not really sure I had that the other day put a power cycle fixed it. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  19. Your going to need the soft-mod files for the Xbox to boot with out the mod chip But the older soft-mods don't always work with a mod-chip or TSOP flash so you may have to update the soft-mod. I can't be much help when it to come to soft modding as I don't do soft-mods. I think it would be some thing like fit the mod-chip and hard drive then if it loads up then you can find the software to lock the drive to the Xbox You would then may need to add the files required to run the Xbox as a soft-modded unit to the hard drive then power down and remove the mod-chip. Fingers crossed when you power up the Xbox it boots and runs and you can then reflash the TSOP. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  20. Once you have fitted the mod chip you can boot of a install disk (Hexen,Slayers, etc etc) and set up a new or used unlocked hard drive. Or you can use the mod chip and lock the 10 gig drive then remove the mod chip and the use the Xbox as a soft modded one or if it's a version 1.0-1.4 reflash the TSOP providing that you have added the 2 links on the main board. Once it's flashed you can then unlock the drive and fit a new drive and using your install disk do a clean install. Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  21. So it's booting with that resistor then.? Cheers SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
