  1. Yeah you need to name them a certain way. Well they all need to match. MSDash-MT for example for all files related to that games/app. the above will process them and create a thumb image at middle top of the poster image. (You work out where you have a logo or something people will know what game it is) also it uses the poster images to process the rest. All images must be png, bar the scans files.
  2. The folder goes on the root of C for the one that processes the scans into assets for the artwork builder source to build into Xbox artwork. The builds artwork folder with all the bat files can be anywhere, but you need to install imagemagick that comes with it or they won’t work. (That version as the newer ones don’t work and u would need to change stuff) don’t get errors or what happens when you run the bat files? (Or batch process in photoshop with the PSD’s. You did add the actions file?) V3.1 is the latest, has nee processed artwork and videos with a few notes apps added, plus’s it fuzzes names, so the xbes with all zero title ids won’t all end up as Mario or XblastOS . The joys of a lot of homebrew and applications all using the same titkeids am sure most off the homebrew on the downloader have a titleid override file, you can add one to stuff you don’t want processed, just put a random ID in there and the artwork installer won’t find it. Oh and yes downloader is where you get it all.
  3. Shouldn’t need to rename them with the v2.0 stable. It will use the xbe name if no resources are found. but the artwork installer should be skipping stuff that doesn’t match within 80% of the folder name or xbe name. (Redownload artwork installer the update if it’s not) @nikeymikeydoes yours have the alt_synospsis.jpg? ie are you on the latest version of the artwork process stuff?
  4. F:\Games\A F:\Games\B Etc… you don’t add every single game also why you sorting them all alphabetically into folders? Most do A-D for example.
  5. Artwork installer: Under settings add your paths to your games\A\B etc..., it only looks 1 folder down. Once you do they will appear in the manual mode and auto mode. XBMC4Gamers sub folders work fine when parsed, (as I look for %:\games\% that means anything that has Games in its path is parsed) I test it after you said about it yesterday. as for the dupe folders I know why, I changed how multipaths work as it breaks games if they are on different partitions but under the same name. I will look into fixing it, but if not it’s stays as it’s more of an issue with games than folders Fixed, now folders will merge and xbes wont, how it should be. (default behaviour is you load into the folder with xbes and it displays both, this wont work with fast game parsing enabled as I skip all folder checks)
  6. Great yeah I pushed that fix. I moved it to the menu loader instead. Am running an SSD so seems fast drives dont have the issue lol And thank you.
  7. Ok it’s doing pythons stuff, can you edit profile skin\xml\startup.xml Line 2 change onload to onunload (there are 2 on that line)
  8. Nothing has changed xbe side since before and after 1.4.028, bar I rebuilt the xbe from start (normally I update it) so the build date was the 28th enable debugging before sending logs please. (hold X and Y on boot) Make sure you disable it in the manage profiles profile as thats always loaded first before a second profile.
  9. Disable "enable internet time synchronisation" in settings > appearance > International or make sure you have internet. I have added some logging so I can track where its (taking to long) and showing the busy dialogue. Just building the XBE and will send a new update. Seems I cant send messages I can only send 0 a day it seems lol
  10. Ah ok now I understand, yeah icons only show if it’s a folder, there is no fallback support for $info tags so unless everything is a folder they will vanish unless highlighted when resources is enabled. I may have a workaround, leave it with me and I will get back to you.
  11. If using folder and splitting game (so it’s not just 1 large list) will be just as fast as the fast parsing. the former only helps with large lists. (500+) as for the artwork, that’s just how Xbmc caches the files. Thumbnail cache (resources disabled) are stored as crc ids and it’s quicker to look them up than parsing a path. drive speed, IDE cable & drive type all effect loading of images. forgot about folder art folder.jpg or folder.tbn should work if fast game parsing is disabled.
  12. As long as all elements are up to date I don’t mind. Normally downloader issues are caused by ISPs blocking DNS lookups or port 53. You can add a file named “disable_dns_check.bin” to the system folder & that should fix most issues people have.
  13. Yeah if the exploit kernel is wrong for the kernel version it will hang the system as the entry points are all wrong. So as soon as the Xbox boots and you see the Microsoft logo at the bottom, they get loaded into memory (even if it’s a cold boot with a disc in) and the system will freeze completely and not load any discs. this is why I automated the process of installing the kernel font in NKPatcher Settings, as it’s to easy to bugger it up and not easily recover. Also using to many delay files can cause the same problem, but those should never been included with a softmod save. like you said probably got corrupted somewhere and the fonts damaged or wrong now but chipping it will fix your issue or hit swapping the drive (if you can grab the eeprom) and fixing it manually.
  14. Why I never recommend installing softmodded from discs as drives are not reliable they used to be. but if it’s not loading any discs and it’s crashing hard then the kernel font maybe the issue on what ever softmod (version) you installed. if the kernel font is wrong for a system it will hang and not let you boot any disc as they Xbox loads the fonts regardless of loading a disc or not. And if the kernel font is wrong it’s a hard crash & only way to fix it is to remove the drive and manually replace it with the generic one or a clean MSDash. If it was a hardmod (TSOP) issues the LED wouldn’t turn orange and you could boot discs.
  15. Updated some things since this video a day or 2 ago from this post going live. Life’s been hard the last year, but am still here plodding away. Hope everyone enjoys the new features
  16. custom_splash.png Next to the default.xbe Above is update proof.
  17. Why did you use the quick upgrade installer files? This is why there are prebuilt files and instructions included on what to do. The only 2 that give the “NTSC or PAL” options are quick upgrade and factory reset. Both you don’t use to softmod a system.
  18. If you’re on v1.4.004 or later, you can try using the file patcher under the scripts menu in the skin settings menu. https://github.com/Rocky5/XBMC4Gamers/tree/master/Mod Files/system/scripts/XBMC4Gamers Extras/File Patcher/patches some of the patches.
  19. Install the kernel font for that system. under NKPatcher settings > Kernel > Advanced features that should fix the issue.
  20. The source images is only available to specific people who are working on artwork or are close friends. 24+ GB hammers my daily quota on google drive, so if someone downloads that none of the downloader stuff will work. So I removed the link along time again so people can use the downloader. If someone wants to pay me a few hundred quid every years to get a site to host this stuff on then thank you but otherwise it’s google drive only. Though I have migrated to a new google drive, but currently that’s not live, am hoping this one’s limits are a lot higher. (Fingers crossed, but I will need to test this)
  21. Some more stuff UnleashX can do. (Requires latest version for some stuff) https://github.com/Rocky5/Xbox-Softmodding-Tool/blob/master/Other/Skin Alignments and Sources.txt and there are more colour options. https://github.com/Rocky5/Xbox-Softmodding-Tool/blob/master/Save Folder/nkpatcher settings/skins/Dashboard/skin.xml
  22. Demounting isn’t required. It’s optional and it does add to the back to dash feature. But it’s only a second or 2 longer. (If using dashloader) But it’s not required, just turn off auto boot Xbox games from the dashboard and you won’t have any issues.
  23. The video region has nothing to do with the xbe region. So when you switch to NTSC it’s not the game region you’re changing but only the video signal region. (So discs from your region will still work fine) Also like I said, virtual eeprom was removed because it causes issues with software & isn’t required in this day and age. if you don’t want the washed out 480i single force 480p in the softmod and that will fix your washed out video issue for games that only support 480i.
  24. If you want PAL video output set your Xbox to PAL 60. You won’t get the HD resolutions ir 480p (but PAL 60 should be 480p) Also virtual eeprom was removed as it caused issues with the XBLArcade installer and since XBL is back I made the decision to remove it completely. As it causes more issues than it’s worth even if it’s disabled it seems Also you’re the first person I know that wants to use it . You could use v1.1.8 if you can get a hold of it, or download the source on the correct revision for v1.1.8 and build it yourself. side note: if you boot original discs it would always be in PAL since those bypass the softmod process. (Cold boot) also the boot animations last like 15 second and you see it once every time you turn the Xbox on. So unless you’re watching the flubber over and over I don’t get it
