I removed the wire from BT to eject button.i soldered 3.3v pin header connection to Bt. I believe this is irrelevant to the problem. I resoldered all pins of lpc, et voila it is working !.

I found out that modchip is not the problem. I placed it into another 1.4 board i have lying around and it works fine.The modchip in the suspucious board powers on 3 times and then the green /red led flashes. So it is definitly a mainboard problem. I will check cpu capacitors and soldering at lpc. Will get back on this. Thanx for your responses.I appreciate it much.

Hi guys, i have an openxenium with latest OS and cerbios 2.3.0 mounted on a 1.6 xbox and it works fine. When i place the modchip into my 1.4 xbox it won't boot (it frags). D0 is connected to the correct point on the motherboard. I believe cerbios 2.3.0 is an all xbox version ?. Should i flash a 1.4 bios into it with the launch menu ?. I also have a duo x modchip and That one boots fine.(on the 1.4 board) I am puzzled ,can it be a poor connection on one off the lpc header pins ? Somebody can give me advice ? Thanks.

Thanx guys for the reply. I do not have unleashx,but is easy to install. i think i will flash cerbios 2.3.0 into it.i do have startech adapter and 80 wire hdd cable. I also have a 1.6 xbox with openxenium and cerbios 2.3.0..(very nice chip) Thanks again i did not know the modchip has 512 kb.

Hi guys As i explained in new member topic (thats what i am) i already have a question that hopefully someone can answer. I picked up a 1.4 Ogxob with a (very old ?) duox v1 modchip. I can read on tis forum many posts about the duox2 version that has 512k banks. What i would like to know is does this v1 modchip has the same size 512k or 256k. The modchip is working fine. Is there a way to find out what bios it has ?.Just out of curiosity if for any reason i have to reflash a (newer) bios. When booting the xboxlogo (which is blue) it reveals on the bottom of the screen xececuter 2. When i load OGxbox installer 2021 i see Kernel 1.00.5838.01.My sata 500gb hdd is detected and f and g partions available. Advice for this newbie would be much appreciated.

My name is Ron Dijkhuizen, i live in the netherlands. I like working on old gameconsoles and homecomputers 80's and 90'stuff. I have a background in electronics. I recently picked up 3 ogxboxes. One of them has a very old modchip in it . So there is no better place then to ask questions before doing anything stupid that might have been avoided. I already spent a lot of time reading several posts,and i hope i can help somebody else in the future. These forums are a great source of information and only enthusiastic people are roaming here.
