It is an Xbox one, sorry for my mistake. Is there a section (or forum) for the Xbox one that doesn't involve kids showing you how to take your controller apart with a butter knife on YouTube and repair advice like "first reset your console. Next, make sure the controller has batteries in it" as I hoped I'd found a decent debug and repair / mod forum at last. Alas, restricted to 2001 Xbox. Ah well.

Hi folks, I'm an electronics engineer, just got an Xbox one original, and the 1708 controller was updating and suddenly disconnected. Now, it lights up and spins the vibe motors on connection to the usb, the Xbox button lights bright on the controller, then goes duller and it disconnects. Does this over and over. I really want to debug it but not sure where to start, does anyone have any info? Tried Windows 10 Xbox accessories app, it does the same thing - appear, disappear, appear, disappear etc.
