  1. ok i am an idiot. i was trying to use the older FATXexplorer and not the beta since i was trying to salvage a 360 HDD recently. wasnt untill i reread your comment saying "at least FATXplorer 3.0 beta 21" did i remeber i was not using the beta. so i did manage to get it working. i mounted it and completly replaced the old XBMC and now it seems to work. having my HDD written down helped SOO MUCH when you WRITE THE KEY DOWN WRONG. luckilly i was able to unlock it using a master password and then load my actual key from the saved eeprom
  2. i tried FATXplorer yesterday and it would not detect the drive. but i can try again. is there any other tools for doing this from the PC side of things? im assuming i have Endure because my notecard with the HDD key on it mentions Endure in my list of steps i originally wrote down when i softmodded a problem is i think it is booting to HDD before DVD drive so thats really problematic
  3. i softmodded my xbox like 10 years ago and it hasnt been used in like 8 years, so i forgot alot of the stuff i needed to know. but currently my xbox is unable to start and just shows the XBMC splash screen and freezes with the light blinking. think i need to do a clean install of XBMC but i dont really know how to. back then i put in a new 250gb HDD at the time with XBMC. i do have the HDD key written down. i burned a new DVD of AutoInstallerDeluxe but it still goes to XBMC splashscreen. unable to FTP to it. tried looking for PC tools to unlock it but they are either old and dont support Windows 7 64bit, or dont detect the HDD, or no longer avalible after 18 years. is there a tool for unlocking the HDD from PC using the IDE cable (and supports Windows 7 64bit)? is there another way to do this? im not actually sure if the HDD is bricked or just locked locked. it detects on IDE in my PC, it shows up in Disk Manager as a 'Uninitialized Disk'. i used a Partitioning tool to do a sector scan it did nothing. but i would not be surprised if this is normal for a Locked HDD
