When I tried it yesterday, no. It freezed, got stuck. A long long time ago Xbmc (i don't remember the version) was running from 2008 to 2018 more or less). Then i tried the xcalibur 3.4 upgrade of my system (maybe in 2018) and xbmc was not runing anymore. Then i made that mistake with the unlock of the drive and it became worse. I didn't touch my xbox during several years and now i come back to it.

I could not find the way to update xbmc with the Xcalibur procedure. So I removed all files from E:\Apps\XBMC and uploaded there the version 3.5.3. downloaded at Digiex. I created the file advancedsettings.xml with the items <powersave>false</powersave> & <loglevel hide="false">2</loglevel>. and uploaded it to E:\Apps\XBMC\UserData\. Now it works. As an application and as the alternate dash (I know how to exchange principal and alternate dashes if I want). This one doesn't start. FYI, to follow the procedure of xcalibur disk, I removed the 3.5.3. version of xbmc from the E:\Apps\Xbmc folder and let Xcalibur do the installation (the goal is to set it as a dashboard and i don't know how without Xcalibur at this point). The problem is that i have now the version 2.0.1. installed. Perhaps this version doesn't take into account the powersave entry of advancedsettings.xml. I have big news ! I managed to make XBMC boot. I don't remember how exactly, but I've found this thread : https://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3969&p=37966#p37966 There, they explain to create an advancedsettings.xml file with the code : <advancedsettings> <powersave>false</powersave> </advancedsettings> I did it on the copy of xbmc on f and it works ! I think this is related to the high temperature of my box (CPU: 61°C ; MB: 58°C). So now I'm wondering why the temperature is so high.

Which alternative softmod would you recommend ? I don't understand clearly one thing : what's the risk if i remove the ndure softmod (there is an option to do it on xcaliburc cd). Will i loose all i have on f partition ? I still have some hope though since I have an answer from gueux-forum.net. It's not the kind of answer that I expected though. They send me back to the Xcalibur Manual. So I'm explaining to them step by step everything I do to install Xbmc, give them the xbmc.log and expect from them to tell me what I'm doing wrong and more importantly what I should do to make it work.

Is it because I have no video file and no video file folder yet ? PS: I've noticed that the dates/times of these files are shifted 2 hours in the future wrt date/time set in the parameters of the box. times in the files are correct though.

I'ver posted a message on the forum geux-forum.net. Hoping that someone will know the tricks related to Xcalibur there ... I already tried before but could not validate my registration on the forum because of my email address (google mail). I have changed to protonmail and could registrate (i say it in case you want to registrate also on this forum). Of course I will post here the solution if i find it on that forum.

Yes, I was thinking also that it could be a region/resolution related problem. The region is PAL I use AV composite with a RGB scart/AV Composite adapter

Here is my main screen in UnleashX : Now, I used the "Explorer le disque dur" item (which can be translated as "File Explorer") and I have the same result (logo then stuck)

yes Done Done Done. I've launched it with the 'Boxplorer' application of my unleashX installation. There is a splash screen of Xcalibur then the Xbmc4xbox logo and then gets stuck. I've tried also with X-Commander application. When clicking of X-commander there is this Xcalibur splash screen then X-commander running then I lauch the default.xbe of xbmc and gets xbmc logo and then stuck again.

I've just did it (i've seen the confirmation message) but it does nothing new regarding my problem : still the logo and then stuck. One other strange thing is the 'last modified date' of xbmc.log. I'ts shifted two hours in the future with respect to the date/time I've set in unleashX. When I look inside the xbmc.log, the hour/minutes are the right ones (no shift).

Yes I saw it after having posted my answer. Actually, I already saw that somewhere and tried it (pressing Y and whte button during startup and it does absolutely nothing. I don't understand what is L3 and R3. I pressed Y and white buttons.

Hi HDshadow, Yes I thought also that was a skin related problem since I saw an error about skin loading in xbmc.log of the old version. At first I copied to a folder named xbmc 3,5,3, but then I deleted the old versions and renamed the folder as xbmc (in case there was a hard-coding of xbmc folder somewhere. I know i should have kept the old files but I didn't think too much (a little bored maybe) and i simply removed both folders under E/Apps How can i do that ? Lol ! xbox world is small ! ;-). Yes. I did It doesn't boot unfortunately. I'm flummoxed too ... I submitted the issue to the forum of xbmc4xbox. If I have something new I'll post it here ... But this forum doesn't seem to be very active thank you very much for your help

Actually I don't know when to use the X button (for instance). I tried to press on the buttons mentioned (except the X one since my xbmc is not working) when starting up with the power button or the eject button and it doesn't do anything. I did. It's actually a shortcut to launch the various dashes from the same place without having to search for the executable, i think. And it works (except for xbmc of course). Yes, I agree. I got a fresh copy yesterday, remove old versions that I had and put the new one (v 3.5.3) in E:/apps/xbmc/. It still get stuck at startup. The only thing that changes is the logo. Also the xbmc.log shows no error (only NOTICE events), which was not the case for the older versions.

Hi again everyone. At this point, the problem with F drive is solved. The problem is now to make xbmc working, even as an app as a starting point. And that, i can't do it, whatever the version of xbmc. I've just downloaded the 3.5.3. which i think is the latest stable version and it's also stuck at loading. The only thing that changes is the logo at this point.
