I've also noticed one of my drives (Hitachi) does not do quickboot when used on my Xblast chip. Is there a reason for this? The drive works fine otherwise.

I am not talking about the laser or motors going bad, I am talking about the board itself. Bad boards can cause a Xbox to frag. Sometimes a drive will cause the Xbox to no longer quickboot XBlast chip. Which components on the board can cause these issues? I know that a new and better method to fix Gamecube drives are to replace the capacitors over touching the pot. Is there anything that can be repaired on a bad board on one of the Xbox drives?

I'm aware there is a common glitch where the screen goes to black after T3 gets zapped on Peragus in KotOR II. This issue seems to happen only when playing off the hard drive. Is there any way to bypass this without using the disc drive? I buy Xboxs without working DVD drives since I don't use them.

Update: according to a well known modder you can use the 3 3300 uf caps. I tried both and still had fragging. Guess it's another issue.

Well it certainly booted and became coma with a modchip. I bought 5 1500 uf Caps and will try that before I give up on the 1.1. Will keep you all posted.

I've heard that you can replace the 5 1500 uf caps on a 1.0 and 1.1 with 3 3300 uf caps anywhere. I have been trying to fix a 3 boot fragging 1.1 with bad caps. I replaced it with the three capacitors and it still frags. When trying a modchip sometimes it fragged and sometimes it became a coma console (green light no video). Do you think this fragging is caused by the capacitors being the three 3300 uf caps? Does it still need to be the 5 1500 uf caps?
