  1. The new chips have arrived. I soldered two more and now everything is fine. Successful from the first time. Apparently I'm the first one who was sent fake chips Here is a picture of the faulty chips (left) and the new ones (right). The font is different and the letters are erased by acetone. I want to ask with 128 MB of RAM, can there be incompatibility with any game? I'm asking if I should replace my main console with it or just use it for special patched games.
  2. It might be It just didn't seem normal to me that the letters 3 out of 4 chips were in a different font and very poor quality, only one of them was 1:1 like the one on the console. I ordered them from here. I forgot to take pictures of the solder joints, and I can't take the console apart now just because of that. But here is a picture of another chip that I soldered today. My solder joints always look like this...
  3. Hmmm, the problem isn't my soldering. The solder joints are more than perfect. No bridges between the pins - checked both with a microscope and a multimeter. 2 out of 4 chips are not working. I tried the non-working ones on another motherboard and they don't work there. The other two were successful the first time. I ordered more chips. It would have been easier to get the chips from another motherboard instead of dealing with these Chinese fake chips.
  4. I flashed the bios. First chip (bank 1) - successful. The next one, which is bank 4 - failed. Does the order of chip banks matter? Were they supposed to be in the order 1,2,3,4 bank?
  5. Thanks. So the ram chip might not be dead.. Where can I download it from?
  6. Ok, I read elsewhere that cerbios supports 128MB RAM. Can I flash xblast with OGXBox Installer 2021? Xblast is bios right? Because I can't find it anywhere to download it?
  7. With cerebios 2.3.1 can it boot? Because after I soldered the first chip - FRAG. The chip is soldered more than perfectly, there are no bridges between the legs, so the problem shouldn't be the soldering? Only 14 and 15pin (VDD&VDDQ) short, I read somewhere that it's normal?
  8. Hello, I have bought chips for this mod. I want to ask if after putting the chips 1 by 1 it is possible to test if it is soldered well or do they all have to be soldered?
  9. I made a PCB. Single-layer homemade. I am attaching the file (Sprint Layout) if anyone wants to make it. XBOX.lay6
  10. What is the difference? What is the other chip on the aladdin board - LC4032V?
  11. Thanks!
  12. I put in a hard drive, but again there are no options other than to boot a linux disk. Anyway, I hot swapped the chip onto another modchip console and flashed it. Thanks everyone for your help. With dumped EEPROM and PC. Now to ask, I found an old hard drive that was in the xbox and it was locked (forgot to unlock it). I keep the EEPROM or HDD key. Is there a way to unlock it without a computer - in the modchip console?
  13. I tried with OGXBox Installer and TruHeXEn 2021 - No boot I have already removed the chip and read the EEPROM with the RaspberryPi to prepare a hard drive with the HDD key. I remembered that I have the chipmod console in the ceiling from many years ago. Now I got it, opened it, looked closely and it has the exact same chip and connected in the same way 1:1. When I start it under the XBOX logo it says XECUTER2. Can I hot swap the chips while it's running and flash the other one?
  14. I'm thinking of removing the chip, softmod (rev 1.1) and then flashing the original bios (TSOP). Which bios will you recommend me? Cerbios?
  15. I searched too and can't find anything Maybe it's just because I haven't dealt with xbox extensively, just soft mod one time 1 year ago and haven't touched it since. If I remove the chip, softmod and then put the chip back in can I flash it? EDIT: Maybe this? But I will need to connect a keyboard. I also have no idea which distro to use.
