  1. Thanks for this, I suspect about capacitors, some are faulty I think, but can't find affordable replacements, shipping is to expensive for my location.
  2. Unfortunately, after the boot an error 7 pops, I checked the IDE cable and the DVD drive (replacing with other ones) and no change at all, so it must be the HDD. If I disconnect it gives me error 8, if replace it for another one pops error 13. Is my diagnosis right? I will try to use the install disk, Rocky5's installer is ok or do I need another pack?
  3. Please let me know me if another picis needed.
  4. This is awesome, I didn't even realize about that point. How do you spot it? The pic I posted is quite shitty.
  5. Thanks for the insight. As soon as I can will send the close-up.
  6. Sorry, my mistake. http://www.tinker-mods.com/FAQ/original-xbox/what-is-a-good-original-xbox-motherboard-temp.php
  7. Thanks for the answer sweetdarkdestiny, another question, my HDD is dead, after the TSOP can I do something to replace it or what path I must follow? I've read that I need to chip it in order to run Slayer or something like that. I would appreciate your help.
  8. I read this not long ago, I hope it helps you. http://www.tinker-mods.com/FAQ/original-xbox/what-is-a-good-original-xbox-motherboard-temp.php
  9. Hello there, I recently decided to give a second chance to my old Xbox, my parents bought it to me back in 2004 when I was 12 years old. it is a v1.0 and always has booted EvoX, even to this day, the problem is that I can't find any modchip or TSOP. Maybe it's my lack of expertise but I thought that EvoX only boot in a hardmoded machine, so where it is? And if there is no chip, how can it boot EvoX? I've already removed and cleaned the clock capacitor leak, no visible corrosion.
  10. Hello, I bought an OG v1.1 recently and worked just fine, it came with an Aladdin (I don't know what model, but assume is an old one). The chip doesn't worked so I softmodded and left the chip in its place. After a few weeks playing the xbox simply shutdown in the middle of a Mario Party gameplay and when try to turn it on it tried to boot from the modchip (I think it activates holding the power button for a few seconds). I though it was the CPU overheating, so increase the fan potency (x3), replace the thermal paste and remove the clock capacitor finding little to no corrosion in the board but quite a few components rusted, which I cleaned. When I tried to play again it was even worse, it shutdown more often than before and when I turn it off the thing turn on again trying to boot from the modchip. Then I check for trace corrosion and there was nothing visible, but made the bypass for the 4 traces either, nothing new happened. Maybe the modchip was the problem, right? Well, no. After removing it, the only difference was that it booted normally. Then I remembered that the freaking fan was on x3, and put it back to x1, since then no more unexpected turn offs or ons, it works as good as before. I came here to ask the experts: this makes any sense at all?
