  1. Yeah I've tried what you suggested but I cannot seem to get an image to display for a folder (that contains a bunch of other game folders). Any other ideas would be great
  2. Hey guys, Thanks for the replies! I managed to get around the issue by opening up one of my spare xbox's with a TSOP and XBMC4Gamers installed and I just used chimp to clone one of those systems contents onto the new 2tb HDD. Once I had XBMC4gamers on the new recently hardmodded v1.6 I could access FTP which allowed me to copy over xblast and a newly made bios.bin that I created with evtool so I could flash the bios (the bios that comes on these Alladin chips is so old....) I have well and truly caught the modding bug and now I'm super keen to add more mods to my Xbox's
  3. Hey, So I recently hardmodded a v1.6 xbox with an Aladdin XT Plus 2 chip and a self wired LPC rebuild (cut the Lframe trace). That all worked perfectly and I was able to update the bios on the chip using HeXen 2018. When I installed a 2TB hdd and set it up using hexen 2018 everything worked perfectly (Unleash X dashboard). But now I am trying to actually put things on the HDD via ftp but EVERYTIME I try to connect, WinSCP gives me this error (see photo). I am at my wits end now and I have NO idea how to fix this. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! I can provide more data if that is needed for diagnosis of the issue.
  4. Hi everyone, After hours of trying peoples suggestions and getting nowhere, I am asking for help. Basically, I have all my game backups in f/games/..... and all of these games have been given artworks using the artwork installer. BUT my collection is about 300+ games and so I would like to organise these games into folders ie f/games/Racing Games Folder/..... but when I do this it gives the folder the missing artwork icon. Basically I want to know how to give the folder that I have created (that is full of my racing games each in their own folder) an icon. Using the example provided, I have created this icon which is the usual 200x283pixels but I cannot seem to get the folder to display this image on the games menu. Is there a way to give a folder (full of my games folders) an icon?
  5. Hey guys thought I'd let you know that I connected the start of trace C (at the resistor) to the small via circled in red (with magnet wire/enamel coated) and this worked as a bypass. So for future reference, if people try to bypass trace C and damage the easier pad, they can continue down the trace to solder a connection at the via. The via is well covered by green insulation so you will need to scrape this off with a fibreglass pen. Additionally the via is smaller than the pad and thus harder to solder to. Therefore for most people if you damage the pad it might not be worth it to try further down at the via. But hey I messed up the pad and didn't mess up this time (granted Im now using a 20w iron).
  6. Hi guys, here's a photo of the board to remove any confusion. You can see in the photo that the pad for trace C (middle left near the R symbol) has been detached. Using this photo, which allows me to zoom more than my useless meat cameras, I've followed the trace to a tiny via right at the end. I've already used my fibreglass pen to scrape the insulating green stuff away and hope to connect the start of trace C (the resistor at R3V3) to this tiny via using some 30gauge enamel coated single core copper wire. Any thoughts before I take the plunge and give it a go?

    Bios reflash

Thank you so much SS_Dave and KaosEngineer for your time answering my question! I will give it a go tonight. Now I just need to find a good reflash application for the Xbox!

    Bios reflash

I'm going to be keeping the evox m8 + bios. But I wanted to make sure that reflashing it (to remove the boot evox logo and change the boot colours) wont impact my HDD partitions described in my original post. I am customising the bios using EVtool but there are no guides available for the software and I can't find out anything about it.

    Bios reflash

Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum and despite looking, I couldn't find an answer to my question. Basically, I have an Xbox v1.1 with an ST TSOP. Awhile back I TSOP flashed it using HEXEN 2018 and I flashed on the EvoX M8 + F & G Bios. After this I installed a 2TB Sata HDD and Set up the HDD with 1TB assigned to F and 1TB assigned to G. Over time I have filled up most of the F partition and a lot of the G partition. I want to reflash a customised version of M8 + with no evox logo and my own boot colour scheme but I am worried about some of the options (I am basing the new customised bios on the file "evox.m8plus.fc.137" taken from my HEXEN 2018 iso.) I think I installed the 256k bios initially (even though i know my TSOP has more room) and I'm thinking of keeping it as 256k. Is this what is recommended? BUT mainly, do you think that keeping the LBA48 support setting as "Partition 6 takes up to 137GB/Partition 7 takes rest" will ruin/alter the partitions of my current installed hard drive as described above? I ask because I have about 1.3TB of data already on the HDD and I don't want the BIOS re-flash to wipe all of that just to get rid of the EvoX logo and change the boot colours. Thanks in advance people!
  10. Hey, I have a v1.1 board, and managed to successfully bypass the corroded trace C (this trace only seems to mess with the front LED) but then recently I went in to do my yearly mobo check and the tiny pad for trace C had ripped off from the board. (likely my fault as when I put it on I used a high wattage iron). Do you think it would work to keep following the trace to its end point and solder in a new wire to the via at the very end of trace C. My only worry is that the missing pad will cause some kind of problem with continuity (even though in my head the wire would also be bypassing this gap caused by the missing pad) I have a 20W iron, a fibreglass pen to clean up the via, and some 30 gauge enamel coated copper wire.
