Hello and greetings all. I know this is a OG XBox forum but I trust this website and the people on it. I've been given an XBox One free. It has a small power issue with the heat-sink and not turning on. (FIXED) I want to push this device as far as I can go. Hard mod the device, soft mod the OS. I have no concern if I brick the console, I want to strip it down and max-out anything I can on it. Any reliable trusted information will be much appreciated Thank you.

It’s always good to null the hard drive key. If you have softmod files left over in C:// even after you hard mod with a chip then you might have problems if you unlock the hard drive

You can swap hard drives if you Null the EPROM first I always use Rocky5’s extras disk https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Gs_yYVotDxAxtHZeHUVr_ts7KeMgqEmQ then just make sure the bios are pointing to the same Dash on the new Xbox that you slip the HD into or Vice Versa I personally tore a hole in the motherboard removing a ModChip. I fixed D0 and it boots with a ModChip but will forever FRAG if you try and boot the TSOP

Also it might have a backup dash i can’t really explain but at the bottom of the file it might say dash1 • f/XBMC/default.xbe dash2 • e/xbmc4gamers/default.xbe I would swap the names around so your new dash is DASH1 and if it can’t find your dash because of a spelling mistake it will go to DASH2 which it the dash you started with if no dash is found it won’t do anything and you might just get a big red error if you can’t ftp after that then I’m the one who killed your Xbox lol

to make sure everything is ok and cool just put the new dash somewhere so it’s like an app you can open using the existing dash. I suggest XBMC because everyone understands Confluence and can setup emulators ….. once the new dash is working and you no longer get the freezes then switch dash HEXEN is messy and not many people like it but you just click switch dash and it will do it the Executer 2 chip (which is probably an original and valuable with it current bios) has a sister file in the C:// partition probably called X2config.ini or X2config.cfg that file will have the path of the dash when the Xbox turns on you just change the path and the location of the new XBE of the new dash

Don’t panic and do anything crazy to the original Xbox or HD you already have error 21 means it can’t find the Dash. (It’s hard modded and doesn't have a dash on the Microsoft E://) the custom dash just might not be setup correctly and freezing just freezing see if you can FTP or SFTP using a pc and place a new dash somewhere then use the dash you have to execute the xbe OR EVEN USE HEXEN just put XBMC or something on the F or G partition and use HEXEN to swap dashes

Hello all i have a 360 Controller that is just a standard usb (not Wireless). The controller lights up for 1 second circling the green disc shape in the middle. I don’t have a 360 so I’m happy to dissemble the controller and change the connectors to work with the OG XBOX. the only information I could find was this quote Xbox connectors are some proprietary USB offshoot.<BR><BR>Xbox 360 connectors are standard USB.<BR><BR> Neither is compatible with the other.

Hello all i have stripped my Samsung DVD drive to its bare essentials and made a clear Perspex Lid Mod. I want to add a LED to this feature but don’t want long cables crammed inside can I get power straight from the DVD drive? this would be beneficial if I want to take it apart I can just unplug from the cable. I have found a pin layout but it’s for the motherboard & I’m not sure if I’m correctly thinking I can copy the wires to what looking at on the bottom of the DVD drive

I still have a problem with not having a dedicated Music Player and I don’t fully understand the solution the short hand was NOT ENOUGH FILES INCLUDED IN ORIGINS SKIN long hand.. After I transferred the skin to XBMC and followed the tutorial about changing the gamepad.xml & remote.xml my settings panel inside XBMC was blank. I also could not Configure any of the short cuts in the Home Menu. This was very tedious because 1: I don’t know what I’m doing & 2: I would just completely crash the skin & had to start over from scratch! the final result is I have a working skin now (but) only one problem is, I have no music player? I tried to hack apart the Confluence skin to steel that one, and in truth got a Music Player but lost the use of the START BUTTON accessing the XBMC Guide….. this was BAD because how the f* are you supposed to shutdown the XBox without the XBMC Guide. AGAIN starting from scratch and downloading all the fresh files

Hello all if anyone has a fully working XBMC ORIGINS setup can they please upload the 720p folder so I can FTP it to my XBox. (please find attached my XBMC.zip) https://bit.ly/3Iu6z9j I have a nice working dash, but I had to use the Confluence to set everything up and then just switch Appearance to Origins. I can’t edit Features: 24. CONFIGURE after mimicking countless Tutorials! File Manager just lets me view and execute files not edit/copy/move them. and my settings panel just has icons that when clicked the screen goes black SO from Origins skin I can’t change the appearance, I have to use file manager to delete Origins (use Confluence) and then FTP Origins back to Skins,,,and use (Confluence) to set Origins as my appearance XBMC4XBOX 3.5.3-r33027 (compiled: feb 27 2016)

CERBIOS will see a disc in the tray as an OS if inserted at boot. Tested: So buy changing the bios to DriveSetup = 2 and leaving a HEXEN disc in the tray at boot, then CERBIOS will load the UnLeash X on the CD and booted straight to HEIMDALL’s ENGINEERING DISC I DONT expect Cerbios to be an OS I expect XBlast-OS to be a light-weight operating system. Using XBlast you can choose the bios you would like to use at boot. Obviously CERBIOS has to have a path to boot the desired dash as described in my config.txt DashPath1 =\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1\Applications\Xbmc\default.xbe I have 150 XBox games & 4000 retro games. I have multiple dashboards installed but have setup CERBIOS to boot XBMC & IND to boot XBMC4GAMERS This whole thing is not a big deal anymore. And just to leave the tray empty at boot

Back to the original post CERBIOS will try and boot from a CD if there is one inserted at boot. This means if it’s a game or music CD then nothing happens! The screen stays blank (BLACK)! It’s almost like CERBIOS is acting like the CD is an actual OS? If I HARD-REBOOT without a CD in the tray it boots in seconds to XBMC….. if a CD is in the tray then NOTHING happens! It dose not try and load the CD. I have completely removed the CD drive with DriveSetup = 2 & i can use the other OS bank if I want to use the CD drive. the IDE/SATA_CONVERTER is set to Master. I haven’t touched it back from the original soft mod days

There was a problem when the case was fully screwed-down. It put pressure on the tray making it force-eject! so I had to remove the metal bottom of the DVD drive and put a Raspberry Pi heat sink on the DVD drive conductor-pad

Hello all CERBIOS will try and boot from a CD if there is one inserted at boot. This means if it’s a game or music CD then nothing happens! i want to change the bios but I am unsure of what line of text I am supposed to change? firstly I am very impressed with the new CERBIOS update. if you are having any problems currently please update to the latest… I am not very technically minded. When I updated the bios I had to use the actual NEW file that came with the V2.2.0 zip and change the boot directory! It wouldn’t except me just copying the text to the old one! I have a dual bank modchip so on the CERBIOS bank I would like to change the bios file to “NOT TRY TO BOOT FROM CD IF PRESENT” . I am happy to do the button combination at boot using IND_BIOs if I ever wanted to use a HEXEN disk. please can you assist

Ok so I have completed the mod i used normal super glue & not Arodite. Arodite would have been quicker but I couldn’t find any that dried transparent only clear. im scared to test it just yet & found to leave it 24hrs to dry before playing around

in LINUX HandBreak takes forever on x86 hardware & XBox can't handle 720p. I have managed to get 480 MP4 vids to play 90% flawless. They only have tiny breakdowns in very HD Animated Sci Fi content. ffmpeg -i /home/pi/Desktop/ind/ind.mp4 -vf scale=-1:480 -vcodec mpeg4 -qscale 3 /home/pi/Desktop/ind/indy.mp4

And also converting MP4 to Avi works well. In Linux use FFmpeg command ffmpeg -i /directory/video.mp4 /destination/video.avi but you can also get FFmpeg for Windows as well
