The "faulty" one was a m8+ with custom .dds file. (Which works fine on a ST TSOP) Now I have tried a almost stock m8+ where I just changed the dashboard paths.

I know that it should be DA 8C (and it is by default) but if I let programmer read the ID it shows FF FF. I also have dumped the Chip but the dump is empty (checked the MD5 in the evox.ini). And i have tried to flash the chip with the default entry W49F020 because they are all the same (W49F02/W49F020T ect.) no luck. The Chip will be erased fine, the Pin Check is also fine (the programmer test this by default and displays errors) but the ID Check fails in both cases (FF FF / DA 8C). If i disable the ID check the programmer end up not flashing the chip. Self check of the programmer is ok and i flashed some atmel eproms with the m7 TSOP and a m8 so the programmer works fine i would say. But I have to admit because it shows FF FF that the TSOP is just dead. Not sure how that possible by flashing a bios to it. I will try to solder the 29 wire thing up in the other dead Winbond xbox and see what happens. If I'm not able to flash the TSOP I go and desolder the TSOP as well to check it with the programmer. If it also displays FF FF i think there must be something damn wrong in the flash process. I think the combination of winbond+resctoox+custom .dds file was the problem but.... -> What makes me wonder is, that the same bios works on a ST TSOP without a problem but killed 3 Winbonds. I simply don't get that in my head. This hole thing realy p***** me off. I maybe go to order 2 or 3 W29C040T which i have found here in a german shop (no way to get the W29C020T) and solder them in to see if that would work, which I assume should be!?

Not on all customs. - There is a chance this BIOS will not boot if you have previously flashed a hacked BIOS on your TSOP. From personnal experience, M8+ and X2 5035 are problematic across all revisions. IND-BIOS 5004 works on my 1.2 and 1.4 but not on my 1.0(probably an RC4 key issue). - There is no LBA48 support. This BIOS is not meant to be used as your everyday BIOS anyway. - Pre-insert you disc in your DVD drive. This BIOS resets on Eject. I have 2 fragged Winbonds here. One 1.3 and one 1.4. I thought after the XBlast fail the programmer could do the job but, re-programming is a 50/50 chance like I got told (Works for one but ot for the other) . How ever, I think when the programmer can erase the TSOP there must be a way that he can programm it. I defently have a leek of knowlege here thats why I asked the community for help hoping some one here has some need full infos how to get it work. If i have no chance to get this one working i already have a flashed Atmel DIP on hand with a m8 on it and one with for the 29 wire mod with the m7 which should be work but not sure why at all but some ppl. telling it will be ( https://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7081 ) I will see torrow if I can wire it up. The pictures which are available are not to clear to me but hope dies last. So one way or the other I hope to get both back to life and if, I can write a tutorial but all depends on "IF". And if I fail, well, the only hope then is that I solder a Aladdin in and bring them back that way which would still be a huge fail for me. So let's see if someone here can help.

Yes but because there is a faulty m8+ on it (or the TSOP is empty like the programmer shows) it didn't work with the XBlast and the m7_TSOP.bin So there are 2 options left. Desolder the TSOP and flash it. Do a 29 wire mod. So I brought the flasher (yeah over kill but fun) and desoldered the TSOP because, why not. But each time I try to flash it is say's just "NOPE, not you!". Funny part is that the flasher erases the TSOP each time. So weird...

I need some help on getting the flasher to work with the TSOP. I can read the TSOP (which is empty). But each time I start to flash I get this error: Pins Detected Passed! Erase ...Succeeded. Time : 0.406 S Programming FLASH ... Programming ...Failed I have added the W49F020T-90B by hand which is the same like the W49F020 which is supported by the programmer (But the W49F020 will fail as well). Even if i disable "Check ID" I get the same error. I have made a quick video and some pictures. I'm out of ideas what I could try next to get the damn bios on the winbond (if it's even possible). Default should be " E:\XBMC\default.xbe". Some installer uses E:\Apps\XBMC\ and others E:\Dash\XBMC\ or E:\Dashboards\XBMC\ When you have found out where yours is, just change the letter "1st" to the partition (I assume E:\) and then add the path in the box behind. Save the bios as 256/512/1024 (Depending on your Chip/TSOP) and flash it. And the skin didn't matter. It would be only a little different if you use the 2TB Origins image but even there you could link to E:\XBMC\default.xbe but should link to the evoxdash.xbe on C:\ if you don't change some other little links in that image. And TBH the Origins image is a nice looking mess but not more (at least in my opinion).

In case I missed the point with a/the typos fell free to correct them. It would be nice if you could add the grafics the board didn't let add me. In the post above you wrote CEE. But Dave has gave you the answer already.

If the XBox stays on the X Logo screen it can have multiple reasons. A CEE bios "normaly" uses a shortcut on C:\ which is in 99% of the cases evoxdash.xbe which links to a dashboard in a different place (E:\Dash\UnleashX\unleashx.xbe for example). If you like to use a CEE you should use a shortcut to the Dash (E:\XBMC\default.xbe in most cases). I would recommend to use a ECE / EEC bios wich links strait to the XBMC on E. The CEE shortcut version does only make seens if you like to switch your dashboard more often. To create a shortcut you can use "Xbe Shortcut Maker 2.0" and place it on C:\ and name it simply evoxdash.xbe (C:\evoxdash.xbe). If you made your shortcut right your XBox should boot up XBMC without the need of flashing a new bios. He uses a CEE bios.

Hey mate, I will bring it back and I have already made all bioses new using the one of Dave to make sure all are good. And Raja has testet the version using XBlast instead of Resctoox and the test result is good. And I found out what causes the problem. The problem is a combination of "Winbond + custom .dds gfx + Resctoox". But thats all I can tell. Maybe one of the more elite user/coder here could tell what they think why that happes because, I have no answer to that. Fact is, it will only happen with the above mentioned config. But back to your wish. Like I said, I'm on a new version but I'm still not 100% up right now, I'm happy that I can sit in a chair for now, so it still will take some time. If you just want to install a HDD use AID or Slayers. But I have to tell as well that I have to "protect users" to not kill there box. Most users just read the first post of an topic, load what they want and bam we got another bad box because the warning was on site 3 or 4 the user has not read. The only way to prevent that is to not offer any of the images till they are fixed. I apologise for that but that is what I think is best for all.

What a HDD do you use and which bios do use on your ModChip? If you use a SATA HDD with converter, do you use a 80 wire cable with it?

And bring up this topic again with some good news. I bought a old Toshiba Satellite 4600 Pro for only 10,- Euros which has Win 2k on it. (Btw. the Toshiba Satellite 4200 is almost the same and should work as well.) So because I still have a 1.0 and a 1.5 X-B.I.T, I tried my luck and it worked just fine, no problems at all. Both of them have now the latest bios files on it. I made 2 quick videos just to prove what I say here. So if you cant get your hands of one of the Dell Dimension 3000, which woks for the chip, this laptop will work as well. Right now I'm pretty sick guys. Not able to do anything right now but Raja reported that the beta i have send him is working so far. So the moment i feel better i will do the rest of the work and provide new images with XBLast OS as to flash Winbond SHarp TSOPs.

It was One 1.4 and one 1.2.. I have send Raja a beta version of the new build with the new config. I use XBlast now and see what Raja will tell about the Beta version. If they is ok, i will write a new config for the Sharp flasher and new images will come soon. If the beta fails, not to sure what i do then. MAybe i provide a last copy without the option to flash winbond & Sharp TSOPs for all of who don't need it. But we will see. I will also do testing but sadly i can do test with a sharp TSOP because i don't have a XBox with that kind of TSOP. So, In case Raja reports it working 100% i would appreciate if someone with a XBLast and Sharp TSOP on hand would drop me a PM to test the config. Or in case some lives in germany and has a Sharp XBox up for sale drop me a PM as well. So atm we all have to wait. I will also do some testing with the original HeXEn to see if they cause problems because yesterday i flashed with the HeXEn version and failed. But the bios i used worked fine with a ST TSOP. So maybe Heimdall could give me some feedback, in case he read this, because we maybe would both profit from the results which I would share with him and ofc you guys when I'm done with testing. So yeah for now ìm out and wait for Raja to tell me whats his results. And if anyone ask's, i will keep a copy of Resctoox one the image to install it ( I will grab a copy of the Heimdall HeXEn for that because I´m pretty sure I flashed both of my Winbonds with his Image in the first run (2018 or 2019 vesion I guess, not to sure about that)), like i have made with raincoat but, if the results are good, I switch to XBlast OS to flash winbond and sharp TSOP's. PLEASE NO! DON'T DO THAT! I'm right now coding a new flash xml for the winbond using XBLastOS. When thats done I can drop you a link with a Beta to test them if you like. I have tried it yesterday with an XCharger 2.5 and with a SmartXX v2 but both dosn't support XBlastOS. So right now i can't do anything until the XBLast ModChip comes to Flash the broken Winbonds. Hope n64 freak get the money today but they will probably not show of here till Wednesday or Thursday. And if all fails to recover the Winbond, I have to more options. Got some 27C2001 and 27C020 this morning for cheap. That way I could try the 29 wire recover method .If that fails as well, I will unsolder the Winbonds and flash them with a flasher and resolder them. The one way or the other I will bring them back to life.

I will not say can't be but some how, it seems to " 50%/50% " This is what a user reportet yesterday. I did the only thing which i could to atm and took down the images to prevent any thing happen to other users. Right decision i think. What makes me wonder is why the Resctoox version from Hexen 2020 also failed. And i wrote it in the OGXBox topic already, i will redo the biosfiles, even they work when flashed with EvoX (What makes me wonder even more!) and i will make the Resctoox configs new. And till the XBLast comes to reanimate the WInbond TSOPs, I can't do anything more. So i think the Images will stay offline for at least 1-2 weeks. For to all other who maybe read this, if you don't flash a winbond TSOP the installer works fine. EDIT : I googled a little bit and found out that you could also use XBLastOS to flash the Winbond and Sharp TSOPs. SO I'm going to drop Resctoox for the next build and let XBLastOS do the job. (
