So ended up changing the ide cable to 80 wire, and it now boots unleashx much more consistently. Many thanks to all who assisted!! The help is much appreciated

Just to have a crack though, is it worth running hexen from E: for new install or is it not possible

Now that im using it a little more, the speed is actually ok now once it's booted. The problem im having is that it will only boot 1 in every 5 or 6 attempts, every other time will give error 16 or freeze the flubber. I want to do a fresh install as it seems the dash isnt loading properly. I can boot hexen off E: but if i do a clean install off hezen on e: wont that delete hexen on e: in the process?

So I have managed to get home brew dash to boot, but it’s incredibly slow. ie 5mins+ to load dash, then another 5 to load anything. Many idea what may be causing it?

Have cloned the original hard drive, and now it boots into black screen. No green blob and led stays solid green

NAh, But I was able to access the original drive through hdmaker2.3. It’s got all the original files and game backups and everything! For shits and giggles I want to try to clone the original hard drive to the new one, in the hope that it all works. Can I clone in windows?

Booting from power on. Will try try to rebuild c drive again with clean files and see what happens.

Not even a click, stays silent. Of course on an error page, it opens like a dream. I think my machine is cursed

Strangely, when MS dash boots the DVD drive won’t open, light just flashes.

Thanks mate, before I try that though, I wouldn’t mind rebuilding the c drive with hb dash installed. Could you send me a copy of modded c : folder?

Nah not softmodded, I’ve just left the old mod chip connected but the switch was removed. It’s a 1.1 MB.

So being the impatient prick I am, I’ve replaced the HDD with a sata ide converter and rebuilt with clean C and E files and eeprom file obtained through a reader. Ive got it to boot, it works about 4 out of 5 times but the DVD drive won’t work so can’t run hexen. I Want to intall unleashx, can I just replace the dash by changing the xbe files in C?

Thanks Guys, Managed to resolder the D0 connection and it and make a direct connection to ground, but it was still showing error 6. If i change the chip over, will i need to make any software changes? (assuming the HDD is still functional) Also, does anyone have Aladdin in Australia, im guessing an ebay order could take months to arrive (if at all) given current circumstances. Cheers,
