  1. Only minor changes. It does all the same things as the legacy one. - Less components for simplified BOM - Larger compents for easier soldering (0805s instead of 0402s etc) - Crystal has been replaced with a new style package. This caused alot of issues in the past. - Larger power traces and grounds. Should help with wired controllers that have large inrush currents.

  2. In my view fitting a modchip directly to the board like video that is been too lazy to fit pin header. Use the Alternative D0 point on the bottom of the PCB as it is easier to solder to. Don't worry about the L1 wire and I link the BT on the mod chip to ground and not to the front panel. This forces the chip to be always active, The only reason the turn the chip off was for Xbox Live. Any reason you are fitting a Aladdin mod chip on a version that can have the TSOP flashed?
