  2. Well the “Xbox artwork installer” is out, although it’s only on my downloader that comes with XBMC-Emustation and XBMC4Gamers. Currently prebuilt is 1072 Games with full artwork and synopsis information. There is more artwork done but that’s for specials and homebrew/emulators eg... these aren’t part of the installer. But you can download and manually install them from the github link below. Also a big thanks to everyone who scanned the disc and sleeves of all the Xbox games over at Emuxtras. If you want to make your own artwork or manually install the artwork you can get everything you need here. Link: XBMC4Gamers Artwork Github Full artwork source, 23.1GB worth so it’s big  (removed, as to many downloads effect downloader and all files on this account) Link: Full Artwork Source Google Drive (23.1GB) Here is a preview of said artwork prebuilt ready for the Xbox. 3. you can actualy use a few things for rust.... but let me be crystal clear here, unless the rust is STOPPED and no moisture of any kind ever gets around it..it WILL rust again...i deal with rust on an almostr daily basis rebuilding old cars, and your painted tins can still be rusting under cheep rattle can paint while you can rattle can over them and get lucky....for now...its not a fix its a bandaid, sure that bandaid in a home may work fine for 10+ years but it can also fail in weeks if you have AC or a humidifier in the home in the case of delicate console tins i would grab some "evapo rust" (lots of other options here), then take a good look at what the surface looks like afterwords, heck even on a crystal you could save trashed tins with some "effort", if your hell bent on just painting them, sand, wipe with laqure thinner, then shoot with EPOXY PRIMER or some form of "engine paint" ...rustolium is NOT a rust proofer by anymeans and is...garbage

  4. You won't need to pay someone for this but always nice to donate to Rocky5, the xbmc4gamers creator on his GitHub. Don't worry anyway, it is very fixable. First at the bottom of the screen does it have a button prompt to log out. Essentially when you make a new profile you are in a 'manage profiles' profile and you have to log out of it and back in to your new one you created. If this works go to skin settings and enable auto login so this doesn't happen again. You can actually take xbmc4gamers out of edit mode so your kid can't mess anything, the person who sold you the Xbox should be able to support that and to be honest if they knew it was for a 6 year old I would have been giving that option to you on sale. It's a hidden menu with a button combo, it's on the GitHub. First you need to try log out of the manage profiles profile. Worst case scenario you will just need to reinstall xbmc4gamers but i think you just need to log out

  6. It's always nice to have more than one solution, at least in my opinion. And i thank both of you SakisTheDrifter, Dave for yours. I guess i will try both of them and see which works better for me or better, for the project i'm on right now.

  7. Good luck man! Hope the DVD drives are alive enough for a softmod, unless of course you plan on putting a chip in it.

  9. Well I went down a slightly different path in the end. You may recall I have another xbox with a knackered laser which is a philips drive. Anyway when I was looking for thompson lasers I stumbled across a brand new laser for the philips. its from a company called zedlabs which I have brought loads of stuff from in the past so I ordered one. Its not arrived yet but I will update if I get it going. Zedlabs do a pretty reasonable 3rd party controller for the xbox to if anyone needs some, They also do drive belts etc.

  10. Now that's entirely subjective, isn't it? For my simple tastes, Sega GT 2002 and Sega GT Online are still reason #1 to keep my XBoxes alive

  11. I was a little confused to see some write in german here but hey at least one german mate here (except from n64freak). How ever, it's a nice "little" gadget (which ofc dosn't make to much sense now days). Anyway, hope he will post some pictures of it when hes done. May he use 3 times 2 TB drives in it to make the overkill perfect.

  13. Good Afternoon Folks, A simple query regarding the above modchips - as they are the only ones you can seem to acquire these days what is the different between the two and the pro's and cons etc and which would be recommended if any. Also, what wire gauges are we using to rebuild the LPC and wire up the above chips. Kind Regards,

  14. Softmodded systems require leaving the main controller board of the DVD drive connected to the IDE bus and the Xbox's DVD power/control signal cable. They are still booting the stock BIOS that checks for the DVD drive during the bootup procedure. The softmod is enabled after the normal boot procedure completes and the MS dashboard starts. Somewhere in there. But, its after all the hardware checks have been completed. If no DVD drive is connected on a softmodded system, you will see an error screen - one indicating a DVD error - 10, 11 or 12 not exactly which. Hardmodded consoles, either TSOP mod/reflash or a modchip installed, when booting a BIOS with the DVD check disabled do not require the DVD drive's PCB to be connected to the console. The entire drive can be removed.
