  1. Dangerous, I don't do soft mods any more, but when I did, I used the HeXEn disc, and followed these steps to redo the softmod (after doing the softmod via Splinter Cell disc/special game save) + XBMC as the dash: 1. 2, 2.2, 2.2.7 (Krayzie 1 click softmod) 2. 8, Applications, XBpartitioner 1.3 3. 8, System, Format Menu 4. 4, 4.1 (install XBMC) 5. 5, 5.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.2.3 (XBMC as dash) Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

  2. Very glad to be here. Rediscovering the OG Xbox after many years. Used to have a couple, one modchipped and the other softmodded. I forgot how great they were. Picked up a very nice condition 1.2 Xbox and recently and have now softmodded, TSOPed and flashed the bios so converted to a hardmod. Currently waiting on an IDE cable so that I can replace the tiny hard drive so I'll take the opportunity to explorethe forum and see what the latest developments are.

  4. I think it can still be repaired. You'll need to clean the L (line) contact and the burnt material from the area and scrap a bit of the solder mask (green material) off the trace on the bottom side of the printed circuit board (PCB). Resolder the connection and flow a good amount of solder along the entire trace to strengthen the connection. The solder alone on these early PSUs is all that held the connector to the PCB. You see the reason MS offered a free protected power cord replacement for 14+ million Xbox owners. They should have been required to do a PSU retrofit to actually fix the problem not release a band-aid to hide it.

  5. I have 3 soon to be 4 og xboxes, plus a friends, I am going to clean up, mod and put coinops on them. Since I signed up with facebook, is there a way to change my forum name? I don't want my full name.
